i'm so glad i didnt watch any trailers for this game save the first one, and i'm so glad i went to gerudo first. i cant even begin to explain the giddy feeling i felt when i was instructed to harness a sand seal for the first time.
the lover pond, it's real easy to miss, i got lucky finding it a couple days ago
what was your main strategy for taking down the moldugas?
After the initial "oh fuck" moment of encountering one for the first time, the first thing I noticed was that it only popped up under certain conditions--so I tried luring it with footsteps, then meat, then remote bombs. Remote bombs did the trick; the blast caused it to rise up. From then on, I just used bomb arrows. My favorite.
On the surface, I typically just use the weapon with the best damage:disposability ratio. Normally a two-handed weapon, because the spinning strike is pretty devastating against stationary opponents.
I actually fought one before I spoke to the lady who needed molduga guts, so that was cool. I like when that happens.
interesting. i beat naboris before i defeated my first molduga so i ended up spamming urbosa's fury to defeat them the first time... i feel as tho i utilised my sheikah runes a lot less than other people did initially which i regret. oh well. Oh, about the labyrinth--I had an abundance of Moblin teeth at the time, so I tried leaving a trail of them to keep me from getting lost. Bad idea--they dissipate if there's too many of them at once. So yeah, never try that.
ingenious idea though. i tried using markers on my map instead but i ran out far too quickly.

that was my first labyrinth. i wasnt even promted to go there, i was just having a blast exploring the desert and saw a weird formation on my map so i investigated. probably my favourite moment in my whole playthrough, actually.
how good is the gerudo desert portion of the game tho
Very good. The world doesn't deserve games as good as this.
Currently trying to look for the Lover's Pond you brought up earlier, because I heard a couple of Gerudo ladies talking about someone who wandered off there. Might as well take care of that.

Trying to decide what gme I want to play next because it will undoubtedly not be as good as this one. Maybe Zero Dawn, or go back to DS3.
Dark Souls is always the right answer
but i actually like ds3 and i don't want to ruin it by following breath of the wild
I immediately went back to DS3 as soon as the end credits finished of BOTW
Enjoyed it more tbh
that honestly makes so little sense to me

Like really, people scoff that these won't be around anymore, but I don't see many people really craving to go to a music store. Sure they'll always be around, but it's more a niche market nowadays.
you need to talk to more people, then my friends and i all go to music stores almost every time we hang out and honestly if i wasnt poor as fuck id go every paycheque

The physical store and human interaction will always trump online bullshit.
Steam would like to have a word with you.
Irrelevant because PC gaming is stupid.
Good logic
thanks

The physical store and human interaction will always trump online bullshit. I love going to bookstores and coming out with a plastic bag in my hand, it's a good feeling. However when it comes to buying a game, I'd rather have it come to me in the mail instead of having to wait till I get a day off and then go to the store to buy it, and only after I'm heckled into trying to buy something else I don't want.
That's because most other retailers understand that by the time the customer is at checkout, 99% of the time they don't want to make anymore decisions.
Physical stores offer things to the regulars that Amazon can't.
These things come and go every few years, and I don't see it changing. Especially as gamers "grow up" and become more sociable.
If you're an adult and your social interactions amount to going into a store to get a game, you need to rethink your life.
Did I say something that contradicts that, or...?
I thought you were saying physical stores would always matter because people will wanna be social and go to them
nope but people are becoming more and more antisocial as time goes on to the point where we'll eventualy over correct into being too social, making these stores relevant again

I've had some really annoying control issues even with 100% bonded horses, like running in the opposite direction or stopping suddenly. This happens almost every time I use one, to the point that I don't use them except in open areas because of how often they run themselves off ledges or into walls.
literally never had any of these issues
the point is, they're still their own beings--you aren't controlling the horse; you're telling it where to go, but it's still a living thing with a mind of its own
i think people generally don't like that, but i think it's ingenious
i concur with turkey, and i use horses whenever i can cuz i don't fast travel
it seems to be speciric areas, though. the lanayru promenade, the fork in the road at akkala span and akkala parade ground ruins, heading east at the seres scablands... these are the specific areas i can think of where my horse, without fail, fucks up.
Nah.
You know what actually sucks to control?
Sand seals.
those too, yeah

Yeah so I'm pretty much done playing this game. There's not much left to do except upgrade my armour but I can't be assed to collect 15 fucking Energetic Rhino Beetles and 10 Star Fragments.

Honestly, the Switch. Yeah, the only game on it is Zelda, but for what you're going to spend on the Wii-U, it just doesn't make sense to buy one when the Switch is going to be supported with a ton of its games. What does the Wii-U have? Smash, Mario Kart, HD Zeldas, and a few other niche first-party titles? If you hold out long enough, I'm sure all of those will be on the Switch. Mario Kart 8 is confirmed next month, Bandai was rumoured to be porting Smash Bros. to the Switch, and there are rumours of Gamecube games being added to the Virtual Console. I can't justify it just yet because I already own a Wii-U and Zelda and like Verb suggested I'm waiting for there to be at least 3 new (un-owned) games on the console that interest me before I commit (likely being Yooka-Laylee, Pokémon Stars, and Super Mario Odyssey).
I've seen and played the Switch in person and it's like something we used to fantasise about as kids -- it's essentially a portable Xbox 360. I don't want to oversell it but I honestly believe its a game changer.

Got all the Shrines completed. The reward for doing that could be a little cooler, but... the journey was more important than the destination, I guess.
Working on upgrading a few pieces of clothing to the maximum, then taking on Ganon a third time before returning to Ocarina of Time and/or Horizon: Zero Dawn.
