If you are higher up on the food chain, why would you want to transition to a lower level? Unless you're an avid user of Apple products, you know what's good for you.

when did you become so reddit

Really, the Fallout community in general has turned me away from the franchise almost completely. They're just really bratty.

I'm Canadian and I didn't know this but cool. I can't remember the last time I repeated the national anthem but still cool.

Apparently we're proposing a bill to legalise marijuana in june 2018 next month as well.

Everybody loves you when you're dead.

of course you'd be the one to say it
what do you mean

we all understand the sentiment behind your post (that we didn't "love" him when he was alive because he wasn't that important to us and now that he's gone we feel we have to overcompensate), but you're the only one who has said anything about the somewhat fake nature of our collectove mourning. just leave people to cope in their own ways even if it's bullshit.
Or maybe people should learn to show this type of affection to others while they're alive.

And I really don't care about your opinion of me being """toxic""" or whatever buzzword you want to use, shove it up your ass.

youre naive if you think people would ever be that open with anyone publicly. sandtrap being dead means he can't respond, making it easier for people to be honest. it takes a lot of emotional security to tell someone how much they mean to you, and unfortunately most of us are lacking in that department.

and i didnt even use the word toxic or anything like it but i think it's funny that it springs to mind whenever i challenge you or whatever.
You don't have to open your fucking heart to somebody, just give him some conversation back or whatever.

You didn't this time but you're like the only dude left who still uses that retarded term to describe me, as if I cause arguments or drive people away. Now that's funny.

i don't think that at all anymore, youve actually gotten a lot better after some folks called you out. i just think sometimes youre a tactless shit disturber in the least entertaining way possible.

Quote
This isn't even necessarily about Sandtrap, it's about everybody. When has anybody here said something genuinely kind and caring to one another? Can't remember? That one time a few months ago? Yeah. That's my point. It's a fucked up thing where people are just generally dicks and then when you die act like they were your greatest friend and talk about how much they loved you but they never showed you that while you were alive.

1. human beings are shit, this is not new
2. i say and see people say genuinely nice things all the time but being all heavy and shit isn't fun, sometimes you just need to ease

I wish they would forget about the pointless HD redo over and trophies and just have an update which treats PS2 is the same way it was done on the PS3.

i remember at one of my lowest points, i was venting about my life in one of my late-night depressive threads. a lot of people took advantage of my moment of weakness to hurt me, as was deserved, but sandtrap shut them all down. he noticed how fundamentally broken i was and stood up for me. he took our conversation into private and we talked weekly for several months. helped me process my situation and even move past it to where i'm at now. it's hard to describe the level of honesty i had with him... he was distant and trustworthy enough to be completely honest with, almost like a personal jesus you can lay your sins down on. and losing that (the first time) was extremely difficult to cope with. it's not any easier now.

i became a little skeptical of his situation, i won't lie -- at one point, i got an email claiming he was dead, only to see him posting again under another account a few months later. after that i started talking with him less... which i now regret. i always wanted to fly out to see him, but i just never got the nerve to ask him where he was staying or any other basic information. i felt like it would have made it too real.

I've never played them so I might get it. Too bad it's not a full remaster though.

honestly jak 1 has aged poorly in the graphics department but jak 2 and 3 looked gorgeous on ps3. i'm okay without a full graphical hull, it would sacrifice some of the believability, as is the case with the Crash Bandicoot HD trilogy.

i hope theyre no more than 10 bucks so i can force my friends to buy them and play it.
Maybe not. Look at Ratchet and Clank. It holds the art style, but looks far better than the original version on PS2. I didn't mean just graphics either. I meant controls/feeling too.

good point

I'm happy that they're adding these games instead of the weeboo garbage they have. For a while that's all the PS2 on PS4 was.

arent these the first ps2-ps4 games, though?
PS2 on PS4 has been a thing for a while

I got Destroy All Humans 2 and War of the Monsters from there.

didnt know that

cool

I mean, I still have all my PS2 games, so it's whatever to me.

yeah, i recently bought a new ps2 so i still have all these games on my shelf that i could play whenever.

but trophies are nice and not having to suffer input lag while playing these in hd is nice. i doubt i'll buy them again but who knows.

i'm just hoping that these games being the first ps2-ps4 games to be released is part of some grand scheme to hype up the series as  naughty dog starts their reenvisioning of the series.

how are mods any different from a song cover? is trent reznor spitting in the face of ian curtist when he records dead souls? is he metaphorically claiming that he's better than ian curtis, or is he just paying homage to an artist he admires by adding his own spin.
not really what i had in mind

a better comparison would be if trent recorded his vocals over the instrumental of the original song--that would be bad--but even then, that's a stretch, because that's basically just karaoke

the best example of what i'm talking about here is if trent took the original song and just sprinkled a few MLG airhorn noises haphazardly throughout the track--that would be analagous to a "mod"

but no, it's that the entire song was rebuilt from the ground up with his flavoring that makes it his own work, so it's acceptable

i'd like to extend this to games as well if you don't mind.

it doesn't really matter if he recorded everything over again with his own instruments and voice -- the musical bones remain (mostly) unchanged. I would argue these bones are no different than taking the world that Skyrim was built on and creating new storylines and quests from the ground up in a similar fashion. in fact, i would argue that is more artistically valid than a song cover. i use skyrim because it is the one game i know of that has fantastic mod support.

obviously there are stupid mods out there that don't service the original intent of the artist or further another artist's ideal (such as nude mods for Street Fighter) but something like reediting the original releases or star wars could surely be seen as a fine modification. project m as well.
