Nice but that's not really a business, you're basically just helping a guy you already know for money
that's kind of a simplification of all business, no i mean, he's not my friend, and my business will not be limited to him once i start to grow here's what i've come up with: 150 dollar immediate charge for labour (5 hour job at 30/hour, but i keep that to myself), plus convenience charge for pick up and drop off of machine (convenience charge is time x wage + $.40 per kilometer). i have a cube van with a lift gate lined up for this. 50 dollar material charge (chemicals, propane torch, spray paint, etc). i get all materials at cost because i buy them from my place of employment, so even more profit for me after the total price is calculated, i add 20% on top as my own profit as the owner i plan on making this a business, eventually

TBH the "emptiness" of the open world doesn't really bother me. It's pretty enough that I never once found it tedious, and I hardly ever use my horse.
Who the FUCK said this game is empty? The only thing that's empty here is that person's head.

As some of you may know, I work as a mechanic on small engines and cleaning equipment. Recently we've acquired a few beat-up machines for cheap to sell for a profit, and I've been tasked with making them uber pretty to fetch a higher price. As with all things, I give it my best shot. Turns out, I'm exceptionally good at restoring these things. So good, the machines I've worked on so far have had their initial cost increased by $1500.
Anyways, one of our biggest clients (a guy known as Siva, someone I've cultivated a relationship with over the last couple of months) was REALLY impressed with the work I was doing. He kept dropping hints on my bosses basically asking them if they'll clean up some of his machines. They weren't really interested, but I definitely was. So as I was helping him load up his machine into his truck, I asked him if he'd be interested in hiring me to clean his machines after work hours or on weekend. He was ecstatic, asking for my name and number. I'm expecting a call from him tonight.
Feels pretty good, as I'd be making 300-900 bucks for 5 hours of work, depending on the number of machines.

I still really love The Winter Soldier.
Spider-man 2 is a bit campy but it's so earnest that I have to love it.

Gerudo, Zora, Rito, Goron for me.
Ideal order is Rito, Geruod, Zora, Goron, though.

Details for first DLC. I like that Phantom armor.

Also. Starting today, players will be able to experience the game in one of nine audio languages [Japanese, English, French (France), French (Canada), German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Italian and Russian], with a different language used for on-screen text by downloading a free software update. To enable this feature in the Wii U version of the game, players will need to download a Voice Pack from Nintendo eShop
YES! That Master Sword challenge is amazing.

Taxi Driver was pretty much all done in a drug fuelled haze.
Yeah, but the film isn't about an artist that was impacted by drugs. It's about a Taxi Driver.
You asked for a movie where the creative process was impacted by drugs, I assumed you meant the creative process of the movie, not a creative process displahed in the movie.
yeah, that's what i was originally asking but i misunderstood the assignment and rephrased my question

My teacher is enamoured with my chosen question and has opened up my options to documentaries as well. She mentioned a Kurt Cobain and Johnny Cash documentary, but I'd rather do someone I like. That might open up suggestions.
Many musicians abused drugs.
I'd look at the Big Band/Jazz era when some were given Thorazine.
I've already picked my mucisian to talk about. It's Trent Reznor, obviously. But I still need a movie that demonstrates the impact of drugs on the creative process, so ideally a documentary about a Reznor or a Cobain would be ideal.

I'm more so looking for the artist being under the influence of substances rather than the subject matter simply being drugs or alcohol.
When PKD made the book, he was living in a home surrounded by drug abusers. The characters in the story were referring to the ones he lived around. The director of the movie implied the same.
Could you provide some material for me to look through so I can review the actual context of the artist's situation? Interviews or the like would be perfect.

Google is your friend otherwise.
At the end of the book/movie, names of the drug influenced individuals were given off. PKD's name is also displayed on the list.
Turns out that this movie wouldn't work, because the main character isn't an artist -- it's a police officer. Technically, I'm supposed to be judging the content of the film, not the creation process (this is my fault, I misunderstood the parameters of the assignment).

Apocalypse Now scene where Martin Sheen is fucking around naked in a motel room, yeah, he was actually that drunk when filming.
Ex junkies from the DAA UK influenced the creative process on Trainspotting, advising Danny Boyle on what it was like to get high on heroine so he could translate it into various scenes. They actually make a cameo in the football (soccer) scene in the intro of the movie.
I've not seen Trainspotting and have heard really good things about it so that may be useful. Do you have any interviews that specifically relate to my original question? I'd like to familiarise myself with the context of their input before deciding on the movie.

Great, thanks.

A Scanner Darkly Great book and movie. It's about an undercover cop under the influence of Substance D (fictional drug). PDK said these capsules are the "everything" drug. The characters display different mental disorders as a result, such as schizophrenia or dissociative identity disorder.

Can you think of any good movies where the creative process was impacted by substance abuse?
I have this assignment where I need to analyse multiple pieces of media, and my question inspects the impact of substance abuse on the creative process.
I can pretty easily come up with stuff for music, but I'm drawing a blank on films. I could think of a few movies that use subtance abuse as their topic (Wolf of Wall Street, Requiem For A Dream), but I have no idea if the creators were necessarily influenced by substance abuse while writing it. I think DeNeiro and Scorsese drank and wrote a movie together (they mention that in an episode of Community) but I don't know which one or if that's even true. Turns out, I should be mostly judging the content of the art itself rather than the context of its creation, but my teacher is in love with my question and doesn't want to see it changed, so she's opened up my options to documentaries and non-fiction films. She suggested something along the lines of the Kurt Cobain documentary or a Johnny Cash film that I can't remember.
Any help would be fantastic.

I mean, life is pretty damn boring spending all your time sober,
that shouldnt be justification from substance abuse. that boredom should make you hate your existence so much that you eventually begin to understand why you shouldn't procreate.

My grandparents own a cottage on a bay up north and since I have decent car of my own now I'm going to be spending most of my weekends up there with them. My cousin, another mechanic, spends most of his weekends up there, too. I want to have a weekend project with him that would be kind of cool to bond over and I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions. Obviously my first idea was a project car, like a dinky Astrovan or old pickup we could supe up with a cool paint job and sound system, but I wonder if there's anything else that might be fun.

I dislike the direction of Death Stranding so far.
Why's that?
It seems like Kojima is throwing in all these big-name actors for no reason other than name recognition or that he simply can.
The advantage video games have over movies or television in story-telling terms is that their characters are created from scratch to tell the story in an ideal way, whereas film actors have that suspenion of disbelief hurtle to jump before we actually buy that they are the characters they're supposed to be.
It demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of the medium's strengths on Kojima's part. Use the actor's vocal and facial animation skills and apply them to another character model ala Venom Snake and Kiefer Sutherland; that would be ideal. But simply throwing Reedus into the game doesn't make me think this is a new character, it just reminds me he's a famous actor.
he's hanging with del toro and norman reedus because they both worked closely with him on silent hills and he wanted to actually be able to release a game with them.
You completely missed my point, though.
nope, i got what you were saying; i was simply addressing one leg of your argument. js, you seem to think that kojima is working with big names just because he can. that might be the case with mads but he has a perfectly valid reason to include del toro & norman reedus. i also think your train of thought re: suspension of disbelief & character creation and how it differs between the mediums of filmmaking and video games is kind of dumb but hey you do you.
no, he's using big name actors' likeness in his game because he can. i have no problem with mads or reedus or del toro being hired for the game, but why do the have to look like their real-life counterparts? it hinders creativity, with the only benefit being "woah darryl is in this game, cool". what he did with sutherland was great, and it resulted in a wholly believable performance the likes of which we hadn't seen in Metal gear before. film has no choice but to use identical looking characters because that's just what the actors look like -- games have the capacity to create new people from the ground up, and i have no idea why kojima would voluntarily limit himself like that. other than to sell copies, of course. the rumours of emma stone and idris elba being in the game too don't inspire confidence, either. i also don't see how much train of thought is disagreeable at all.
