Yeah so this guy actually turned out to be a pretty big POS. Nothing illegal or anything but just several dick moves in a row for his own monetary gain.

Dare you enter my magical realm?

This is the first thing I saw when I looked in their tub of CIB games (they also had Super Mario 64 and Ogre Battle 64, probably going to go back for them later). It has a little bit of shelf-wear on the corners, but that's to be expected for a 23 year old game.

Proof that size has always been a selling point. It's crazy to think that 24Mb used to be considered huge.

Here's what you came for, though; all her guts spilt, gazing upon her glory.

Whoa! back at you, dude. I wish more games nowadays came with this kind of stuff.

The number's just customer support now, unfortunately.

The manual is in slightly better condition than the box, so we know the box works!

Slightly blurry image of Samus on the ToC page.

My favorite page of the manual has to be this one. You can definitely see how Samus' armor has evolved over the years, especially her helmet.

And here's my cart, snug in the plastic wrap. It's such a satisfying fit in the box!
Bonus picture
Snake's Revenge on NES. Found her at a game store in Murfreesboro for $45; first CIB I ever bought. Not in great condition, but the game itself isn't great either so it just werks.

It's so beautiful

I wish the days of box art like this were still around

donkey kong country alone is enough to tempt me

it would be interesting to see an n64 classic though. that was always more my speed than the nes and snes.

Why would I buy that? I still have a big one.

snes cartridges are p much all shot memory-wise
rca cables on hd tvs create tons of input lag, and you dont strike me as the type to own a reliable crt

this solves both issues by natively running the games through hdmi and having all games and their memory built into the system

Speaking of bad comic book art...

Didn't realise how goofy it looked until it was too late.

I'm really torn because I love the cyber punk aesthetic of the original but I also hate reboots and sequels 30 years later.

So I can play late on Sunday otherwise Monday and Tuesday are looking good. Let's reorganize.

Good for either of those days. Name a solid time though.

Quick sketch before bed. Pad's not big enough to get his booster rocket feet in there.

These games are definitely the best, but I honestly don't share your problems with the remakes so if I ever need to play them again I'll just go back to my extra copy of Heart Gold. Even if I agree the music was less-than-stellar, the inclusion of so many new features and legendaries makes it all worth it, IMO. The only mishap was the classic music option being such a late-game unlock.

Still waiting on my Gen. 4 Sinnoh remakes, because those have the most nostalgia for me.

Seriously though, what a heartbreaking read. Beedrill and Scyther are cool as fuck, so at least you've got those going for you.

Also, these games had some solid music. Red's theme is still the best piece of pokeman music.

If we only have 4 players is anyone down to do campaign?
Yeah I love the campaign.

I've never played co-op legendary so it should be fun.
Oh man, how?! That was like the thing back in the day. Sign me up too btw.

Everyone seems to forget I didn't play Halo until long after its hayday. Fuck, I didn't play Halo 2 until the MCC.

I also said that I was working on my biggest project yet, which is true. But recently I've been finding it hard to find the time to devote to the pretty mundane and tedious venture it turned out to be, so in the meantime, I'll post what I've done so far.

The basic idea was to try my hand at frame-by-frame animation. Without the assistance computer sizing and stuff it was exceedingly difficult to frame each, well, frame individually. I started off without colour, but decided colouring it in would look much more authentic. That turned out to be the case.

Here's what it looked like at first:

And with colour:

Spoiler

Keep in mind, this is only 4 frames out of a 15 total. So I've still a ways to go before completing it.

It would have likely been far more rewarding to unveil it as a finished project but at this time I'm not sure how long it will take to complete with all I have on my plate.

Feels like I haven't posted in awhile. I'm trying to do more original work rather than redraws. They're good for building a solid foundation but at a certain point they feel cheap and easy. Here's some stuff I've been playing around with:

We're using the discord voice chat while playing. If you don't have it, it's easy to set up an account and get started. So far there's only 4 of us.
I cannot see anyone in the voice chat.

No one is playing right now.
