Pick one.

OT: I really want to enjoy this game I just don't know if I'll be able to. The art style has got me craving the concept pieces, though.

The game has a great story to it, and the choices are brilliant (In the sense they are shades of grey).

You might like the combat, it's not for everyone but I did enjoy it.

Well I was watching some of the Witcher 3's combat. Is it anything like that?

It seems to me like it's a tic-tac-toe system, similar to the Arkham game's formula (albeit, a bit for fluid and complex).
Dodging is your friend when in combat, otherwise you'll get your shit pushed in.

So, it's Arkham's formula with more significant punishment for failure?
No. You don't just spam X and Y to fly scross the map to hit an enemy when it prompts yo to. You need to roll and block or you'll die.

Considering I'm not a casual pleb like most people at the Arkham games and actually use the proper counters when necessary, this sounds exactly like what I do.

Who gives a fuck. Honestly.

We all know Dunkey is the best YouTuber, who ruins other channels for us.
holy shit my suite mates and I quote dunkey every day

James and I's conversations are literally only Dunkey talk. My voicemail on my phone is from his Papa John's prank call vid.

An excuse to use that amazing .gif I presume?

It really seems like it >.>

The art style just makes it for me. I dunno. This art style + storylines for TAS would be sooo nice.

Plus this show was fucking hilarious.

Please tell me that some of you watched this as kids.

Holy shit... That's nostalgic.

But I rewatched this a few months ago and it hasn't aged very well.

Halo CE and Halo 3 ODST are the greatest games of all time.

Halo CE deserves to be on anyone's list of GsOAT. Not so much ODST, as it was more a cash-in (a good one, at that) and a way for Bungie to get away without making a sequel to 3.
CE is an instant classic. Anyone who says otherwise has gone incoherent.

I still found ODST to be one of my favorite games despite it being more or less a cash grab. Oh man, that soundtrack and story.

What surprises me about CE is that when I go back and play it, it's still incredibly fun. But when I got back and play Halo 2 or 3, it's a bit more of a chore (not so much Halo 2 as 3. 3 is god-awful in comparison.) You're right. "Instant classic" is the perfect way to describe it.

I've actually never beaten H3ODST. I just got bored from not knowing where to go. I'm waiting for it to come to Xbox One so I can enjoy it a bit more and perhaps play it with some veterans.
I understand why you feel that way about ODST because if you don't know where to go it's pretty tedious. When you get to the narrative, it's amazing.
How in the hell could someone not know where to go?
Do people not know how to use a map?

Well, considering I was much younger the first time I played it, and I'm directionally challenged by default anyways, I had a bit of difficulty.

It's a shame that my niece and nephew will grow up on movies like Frozen (which is pretty good) but won't really experience something like this or El Dorado...

The thumbnail looks good, I just don't have any interest in watching the video.

You'd be better off making the images into the thread... Might get more activity that way.

Yeah, MS is great with that shit.

They had an ad with that Rocky quote in it and it was the perfect marketing technique to appeal to the dudebros of the nation.

If they don't put the damn song on iTunes I'm stealing this video, and probably that one too. <_<

Just search the audio using some sort of database. Similar to what you'd do if you were looking for the origin of a photo. Use google to search for similar images. You dig?

I've tried. I got nothing out of it. :/

Btw, I asked the Xbox channel like more than once now. They don't care. But there are others asking too. Nothing.

Shit. Must be in-house or something. Just rip it straight from YouTube.

i very rarely get nostalgic (some of nuka's stuff caught me by surprise though)

what i find super nostalgic right now, though, are those commercials that would be at the end of every pokemon VHS tape
(VHS tapes in general, for that matter)

I've seen you post this before, too. Didn't want to steal your thunder.

« on: February 02, 2015, 02:10:02 AM »
It's one thing if it's a single-player focused franchise. Another if it's not.

Video games aren't inherently story-tellers. Having multiplayer only is not a bad idea - but the execution is what matters.

You need to give your customers something more to do offline. Either that or bring the price down on the product.

I don't nevissarily mean story, just single player content. I spent likely thousands of hours on Star Wars battlefront jut on the AI battles, I never touched multiplayer. I have spent hundreds if hours on Halo forge and even firefight on Rech just messing around.

Yeah, then we're in agreement.

I was quite pleased.

Though I do hope it is an option on/ off for custom games.

Yeah, me too. Just thought it would be funny/relevant to current events.

I really enjoyed the beta (despite me only playing 10 games, I didn't want to ruin the experience too much for when the game releases). Even if it doesn't play like a traditional Halo game, it's an exceptionally fun game in it's own right.

I enjoyed it too, but I hae up after 10 because I despise midship and every game was just that. Plus 4v4 isn't my style, I'm more about the vehicle and big team gameplay. I really hope we get invasion back, that is my favourite gametype from any Halo to date.

Invasion was so fire in Reach. With a large party it can be so epic. I heard that BTB was being taken out of 5...

But I always preferred FFA. Unless I'm running with a team I deem competent (which is rare, my friends suck at Halo and I'm uncharacteristically good at it) I don't take it seriously.

Frankie confirmed that we have some cools shit for BTB later on in the future. Honestly, I can see the larger vehicle maps taking advantage of spartan abilities way more than crowded arena maps- I never even used the ground Pound once on any map because I never got to a a position to be able to use it effectively. Larger maps can offer more verticality in their design and take avant age if clamber and so forth, especially if aircraft are involved.

Yeah, you're right. AA's are definitely more suited for BTB than classic slayer. Look at Reach, or Halo 4 (without the Mantis). Both really fun, good BTBs that would really benefit from more emphasis. I can just imagine hopping out of a Hornet that's about to explode, clambering onto a ledge of a building, jumping off and ground pounding the enemies that were shooting at you.

I think having 32v32 matches would be the one thing 343 could do to make Halo relevant again. But hey, I'm not Frankie.
