Apparently. It's (obviously) very flattering that people think this, as he's my favourite fictional character ever (well, it's either Solid Snake, Big Boss or Superman. Still working on those details.) Damn it, guys. Now I really want to post some of my cosplay photos I have. I was Venom Snake from MGSV last year and it looked really cool (quite costly, too).

Seriously. Metal Gear Solid has the same issue as Zelda (apparently). MGS3 takes place before 1, but came out after 2. 4 came out years later but takes placr after 2. PW and TPP (the two latest MGS titles) take place after 3 but before MG1.
3 is a prequel because Kojima needed to tide the fans over while he worked out all the plot issues in 4.

This is a really good review, it's a shame it's not getting more attention.
Aside from the minigames (which you addressed), this is an awesome game. I really am not a big fighting-genre guy (my experience comes from the Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi DBZ games), but this still had me playing for awhile, and even setting up round robin tournaments on weekends with my friends (I won. Batgirl FTW.)
The online portion was actually pretty good, something I didn't expect from a game like this. Typically these are just tacked-on modes to add more things to the game's resume but it's actually functional this time around.
I'd give it a 7 (because the paid DLC has got me salty).
