6) They literally BRING BIG BOSS BACK TO LIFE FOR 5 MINUTES AND THEN KILL HIM AGAIN, ALL WHILE MILKING THE TEARS FROM THE END OF MGS3 BY MAKING HIM SALUTE THE BOSS AGAIN. I find this to be a really cheap way to emotionalise the player, as Snake lighting BB's cigar is more touching IMO.
Ground Zeroes has the best gameplay out of all the games so far.
This. So much of this.
That entire speech on Zero at the end was just stupid in my opinion too.
The whole game is melodramatic horse fuck that takes itself too seriously to the point of incoherence. Look at this soap opera shit.
"I'm a shadow... one that no light will shine on. As long as you follow me, you'll never see the day."
"It was never going to work out for me. It even rained the day I was born!" "You've got it all wrong! You were the lightning in that rain. You can still shine through the darkness."
That scene is the digital embodiment of Japanese dialogue.
It still sucks.

Objectively Snake Eater.
MGS2 = MGS3 - open-world missioned style + more meaningful story

Yes. The first third of the game was interesting enough. The gameplay was fun. The only other thing I can say that was good about it was the liquid fight. Just because of nostalgia goggles.
Mhm. I said that on my list, too. I enjoyed the Liquid Fight and that Raiden cutscene where he just kicks ASS. But that's about it, honestly. It should never have been made.

If you don't vote for Guns of the Patriot, your not a MG fan.
Considering it's the worst in the series, I'd argue the opposite.
How is it the worst of the series, all of the MG games are great (besides grounds zeros, that was just a demo), yes even fucking Sons of Liberty is great even if Raiden is a fucking casual.
MGS4 being a bad MGS game =/= being a bad game. It's bad because 1) KojiPro only made it because Hideo thought his life was in danger 2) completely ruins Snake's character and the end of MGS2 3) Tons of technical issues for no fucking reason other than to look "next-gen" 4) Literally 9 hours of fucking cutscenes that could but brought down to 5 if they cut out all the BS filler like staring for 10 seconds and shit. 5) Awful bosses that you don't give a shit about. (No team will be as memorable as Cobra Unit, IMO.) 6) They literally BRING BIG BOSS BACK TO LIFE FOR 5 MINUTES AND THEN KILL HIM AGAIN, ALL WHILE MILKING THE TEARS FROM THE END OF MGS3 BY MAKING HIM SALUTE THE BOSS AGAIN. I find this to be a really cheap way to emotionalise the player, as Snake lighting BB's cigar is more touching IMO. 7) There are so many guns that it makes the game too easy. Virtually no stealth, you can just run and gun now. First quarter of the game is great, goes downhill from there. 9) "NANOMACHINES EVERYTHING" I can literally go on for a very long time. Just watch some videos on YouTube, they do a much better job than I do. Ground Zeroes has the best gameplay out of all the games so far.

MGS4 is my fav by a long shot. I absolutely love the others, but this one is the most improved, and the war economy idea and the amazing boss fights kept me coming back.
You're joking about the bosses... right? [MGS4 is my least favourite in the franchise, so I hope to god you're joking.]

I've only played the one for PSP, so that one I guess
Portable Ops or Peace Walker? Peace Walker is one of the best games of last generation, IMO. Top 5.

I'd really like to start a MGS thread, but I want to lay down some groundwork first. If you haven't played any of the Metal Gear games, and plan to eventually, LEAVE THIS THREAD. They are excellent games that, once you get used to the somewhat dated controls, are extremely rewarding. I don't want someone's accidental spoiler to ruin specific moments for you. If you don't plan on playing these games and are looking for a somewhat brief overview of the series for The Phantom Pain (good on you, but Kojima said that TPP will be accessible to new players as well as veterans), stick around. I'm allowing people to change their vote based on potential discussions some of the users here might have. I plan on trying to change people's opinion about a specific game (because I can understand which game might be more favourable to the public), and I hope I can adequately convey my point of view. But I also am leaving the results of the poll blank for 3 days, as people might change their vote based on the popularity of another game. There, now that that's out of the way... My favourite Metal Gear game is "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty". There are so many reasons why I enjoy this game, mostly because I love a good troll. For the entire marketing campaign of MGS2, Kojima only showed you playing as Snake as you would in the tanker sequence at the beginning of the game. For some reason, they only showed this sequence. It was the equivalent of Bungie only showing Old Russia off before Destiny was released (except in this case, there was FAR more content than expected). If you weren't blinded by hype like I was, you might have noticed that this seemed a little odd. I mean, how could they make a true sequel to MGS1 by having so little story to work with? But besides that, everyone was super-duper hyped about the game, and it remains the fastest and best selling MGS game in history and potentially the most sold PS2 game (correct me if I'm wrong.) But aside from KojiPro trolling us by taking Snake away only a few hours in and replacing him with lolRaiden, the game makes some pretty profound statements about truth, sensorship and objective peace. A lot of this goes over some people's heads, and since I don't think I could adequately convey what I'm thinking (and because I don't want to), I'll just post this video. It's quite long, but does a really good job of analysing what makes MGS2 click. So, that's my reasoning. Hopefully this thread goes somewhere. Feel free to test my knowledge on all things Metal Gear if you're confused or interested in the series. I really want to release some sort of timeline before TPP comes out, but that will take awhile.

Hey you finally changed your avatar!
No, but I'm a virgin.
It's on a rotation now. 50% chance of the original, arms crossed avatar, and 50% chance of one of the top 3 choices in the Anarchy poll.
Yeah, I just noticed. And that sucks, lol. Nothing to be ashamed of, though. I wish I lost mine in a better way, to be honest.
Yeah, well. What are you gunna do. It just so happens that I'm not sexually attracted to many. It's been almost 16 months since I had a romantic interest, and the previous interest before that one was 5 years ago.

What? Don't like Snakes?[Aha, but seriously, thanks. Imagine your favourite video game is Uncharted and someone says you look like Nathan Drank... That's what it feels like. These are some of my better pics, if you're interested (but still aren't that great, it's an S5 camera)... you should have seen me on Halloween when I went as Venom Snake... eyepatch and all. Costume cost me $400 but it was sooo worth it.]

-If the American government didn't fund and plan the 9/11 attacks, they knew about them and did nothing to stop them.
-There is an "Illuminati", in the sense that there are far higher powers at work. People with absolute control of money, media and resources that are working towards a One World Order (which I don't think I'd be opposed to.)

I want to be the lead of my own gaming studio with full creative control and marketing tactics. Literally all the publishers have over me is finances.
I reckon I'd be very good in a position like that.

No thanks. I'd rather not continue school after high school.
Then what're you going to do?
Do some sort of mundane working-class job that requires a high school diploma and nothing else. Or take over my father's business.
