I thought PO wasn't canon

Some parts aren't. Kojima hasn't told us what is and isn't, though.

I'm just craving a new Metal Gear experience, that's why I'm wondering.

Something tells me you have the biggest boner for the Metal Gear series.

I bet you even like Snake's Revenge.

I do in fact have a solid snake for the MG series.

Meh... I mean, Snake's revenge is alright. It's no MG2, though.

But anything pre-MGS2 is almost unplayably dated.

I tried to play the HD collection, having never played the 2nd and third ones.

Sons of Liberty was....clunky.  For a 360 anyway.  Snake Eater was definitely much more fun to play.  Never played Guns of the Patriots ,but I did watch a "movie" of it...well the game's a movie anyway, you play maybe 5 minutes of a 7+hour game.

Revengeance was an absolute blast to play.  I always had a thing for Raiden and Cyborg Ninjas, so that was a nice treat.

Ground Zeroes...I stayed away from mainly because, like Angry Joe said, it's a well-crafted but VERY overpriced demo.  I'll just wait until Phantom Pain comes in.

I actually prefer SoL over Snake Eater, even in terms of gameplay. It felt a bit more like a traditional MGS game, whereas Snake Eater was more Tomb Raider than anything else. Both very good games though.

MGS4 is awful. Story especially, gameplay was solid in the first sections of the game.

Ive actually never played Revengeance. Not a fan of Raiden.

Ground Zeroes is the most fun to play, but its really short. Im so excited for TPP you dont even know.

I haven't but I want to... I'm on a Snake Eater run ATM and want to continue the Big Boss story chronologically. I'll probably get a Vita to play it, too.

Anyways, do you have any opinions on the game or whatever? I've heard mixed things about it, stuff about the controls and story and such... but I think the controls would basically be fixed with the dual analogue sticks on the Vita, right?

I'd bang someone if I was attracted to them in a way that would make me seriously contemplate monogamy. Too bad I've only found two people like that in my life and they're no longer options for me.

I just want an actual modern shooter. Something like MW2, where it wasn't so advanced in comparison to today's tech. It made sense. The most advanced thing in MW2 was the baby monitor.

Sorry, to many Modern Shooters, its being milk fast as a UFO. It's time to move on to WW2, something fresh and relaxing,  plus Medal of Honors is a prime example of a really good game set on WW2, we need more of that, sorry but Modern Shooters needs to take a break.

There isn't a single modern-day shooter on the market right now.

Right now, no, there isn't, but there were a lot of Modern Shooters from last year.

Such as? The only one I can think of is Battlefield 4.

Shit, never minde. I guess there isn't many Modern shooters.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Near future/future =/= modern

Vader's dialogue is really awkward for his character.

So what would you rather him say?

A great idea for a Halo spin-off would be squad-based firefights on a large scale.

No campaign, just devote 3 years to 64v64 matches, with each team having 16 squads of 4 working in tandem for different objectives and shit...

Or some sort of third-person Halo.

Infamous Second Son is the best game I've played on PS4... well, MGSV: Ground Zeroes is, but it's really short and I can't recommend it for more than $10 unless you're a mega-fan.

So yeah... Second Son is really fun and it's an easy platinum. After that, The Last of Us Remastered, for obvious reasons. Check out Warframe, it's F2P and quite good, actually. DC Universe Online is also there, but I haven't made it past the tutorial.

Playstation Now has Uncharted 1 and 2 available if you're interested in those.

Just when you think you've gotten all the way across the map you hear Eli call out in his most British accent, 'It's not over yet, Snake!'

I'm just waiting for a trailer where Eli be like "Why this hype? Well, I'll tell you, then. You ENJOY all the waiting, THAT'S WHY!"

I would literally cri if that happened.

Having a big map is good and all, but if it's empty then they can shove it up their arse.

Does this help? It's the same setting as E3 2014's 30-minute demo, but it displays how differently missions can play out.
I've seen that.

If the world is big but  empty then fuck it off.

MW2 is one of my favourite games of last gen and I really enjoy it's Campaign (well, most of it). I wanted to see how they ended it.

Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain has been hyped for its massive scale, especially compared to Ground Zeroes. We’ve never really had a direct study of the game world’s size though. That is, until a NeoGAF user analyzed the size of Africa and Afghanistan in The Phantom Pain and how they compare to the size of, say, Grand Theft Auto V’s San Andreas area.
Essentially, they’ll be bigger together with each separate area being 10 to 30 percent less the size of San Andreas. There’s also the fact that each area will be more densely populated in terms of foliage and other environmental features. But don’t take our word for it check out the image below and find out for yourself.

*Phantom Pain intensifies*

Thoughts? I already kind of assumed this, and I'm a bit sceptical about this info given my recent experience with Bungie, but I can't help but slowly become more and more hyped for this game.
