One person will post a reaction gif to something (could be anything), another person will post a reaction gif to that reaction gif, followed by some sort of addition or comment to what the first gif was saying. What I said was I like the occasional anime, but this forum's obsession is... simply weird. The obsession is weird, not what they're obsessed with. I mean, I love Metal Gear, more so than these people like anime, but it's not weird, y'know? So what is it about anime that makes it less, uhm, "cool" than other things? This was a commentary on what people think when I say "I like Metal Gear" or if I say "I like anime", respectively. It has nothing to do with my personal opinion. It's probably the masculinity associated with MG and also the fact that anime seems to have all female characters, or at least, main characters.
This is unintentionally baseless, I admit. I meant to say "a lot of animes" instead of "all anime". You're not insulting people. You're bothering them. In fact, so many people bother the few anime enthusiasts we have on this site I mock the whole situation by calling them gooks and telling them to kill themselves.

From a western social perspective, liking anime is weird. Yes there are people who are more tolerant to it, like myself, but by and large, it's not as acceptable as say, liking Star Wars, video games, superheroes, etc....
If you lived and grew up in an asian country, I could understand why you like some anime... it makes sense.

How on Earth does it degrade the forum? Like I've said, I can't prove it. It's an observation I've had that sometimes things get out of hand. If anything's degrading it's how Byrne and the others were forced to stop making their anime reviews for News. I agree. Even though I had no knowledge of that happening considering I have only been really active over the last couple of months. No, you're judging. No, I'm not.
