Is the game any good? I've played it a few times but I just sort of forgot about it.
its ok, but its not anywhere near worth the price. and its only gonna continue to get worse as they "release more new content"

I thought it was free to play?

The first sip on a fresh can of Coca-Cola is pretty delightful.

Those few seconds of pure black-screen before a movie you've been looking forward to begins. Y'know, after the trailers.

No he doesn't
Thank you for your entirely necessary contribution.
He doesn't though. He says it normally, with a distorted repetition in the recording.

Get that stick out of your arse too.

Whatever, Lemon.

I just now finished mostly everything. Completed the Catwoman part with Riddler. All I have left is like 204 trophies and a few Firemen to find. Those trophies though. It's gonna take forever. I'm thinking about trying to get the Platinum too. Maybe. Even Arkham Asylum took forever for me to get that...

I completed the half-Knightfall protocol on Tuesday and I'm about 100 Riddler challenges off from confronting mecha-Nigma. I was looking forward to doing the challenge maps and retaining my status in the top 100, but there's like, 4 maps. So that probably isn't happening.

Asylum was super easy to do, though. These trophies aren't all that hard to get. There's just a bunch of them lol. I Platinum Arkham Origins on Xbox, I can do this.

What did you think of the game? I never got your thoughts on it.
I loved it. Better than Asylum, and definitely better than Origins. There was just something about Arkham City though. It seems better overall. But I like the story. Good game. Great even. In fact, it's my top game of this year so far. Though Heavensward could take that. Or Fallout 4. Probably MGSV though :D

I do hope the series is done though. Arkham Knight couldn't even top City. It did top it in some aspects, but overall, no. There's just no way they can top City or Knight. I can't think of much more they could add to the series. And if it's just the same as Knight, every facet of the game would need to be executed perfectly, for the game to even stand a chance of topping either or being as good even.

Man, I'm almost in complete opposition to you. I like this more than City, but not more than Origins, and definitely not more than Asylum. Like you said, there was just something about [Asylum].

Yeah, I agree it's the best game I've played this year so far... but that doesn't say much, honestly. I still haven't played MGSV or The Witcher 3.

There's no way they're done. The fact that WB made Rocksteady acknowledge Origin's canonicity so many times in the game basically confirms that WBM will be making more Batman games. I wouldn't be surprised if Rocksteady tries something with Superman, though. The amount of easter eggs that are in the game for him is ridiculous. Obviously, being a huge Superman fan, I am not opposed to this.
Not sure how Superman could work. And stupid me. I take it back. Witcher 3 is my top game so far.

I'm not sure, either. But that's not up to me. That's up to Rocksteady.
I would love for rocksteady to make something else.

I don't see how a superman game could even come close to the batman games. Superman is just too OP that it would either not be fun, or wouldn't make any sense for superman to be gunned down by some dude with a machine like in the batman games

But you're thinking in terms of a Batman-styled Superman game. That's not the route I would want them to go, because like you said, it's not fun.

Instead, they could focus on larger environments to fly around in, more personal stories, and instead of dealing with petty thugs, they could tell a much larger story with higher stakes. Saving a city isn't enough for Superman, honestly.

They could even have a "gadget" wheel for Superman like they do Batman, and have all the different powers that Superman has. Ice breath = Ice Grenade, X-Ray = Detective mode, etc.

I'm not Rocksteady, or any other developer, but they way they answered a few fan questions about it makes me think it's in the ideas stage.

Wat lmao

I always felt the riddlers lines were delivered awkwardly in the first 2 games but my god

James and I were dying when we were playing it, lol.

This game in general is more awkward than the other two combined in almost every way.

Gaming / Re: So about Arkham Knight... (spoilers)
« on: June 27, 2015, 01:27:50 PM »
For me, it was so expected that I didn't expect it. I was ultimately let down by this game in general.

"Arkham Knight is a completely new and original character."
Arkham Knight ends up being the least original character they could have used, Jason Todd.

"The Joker is absolutely dead. He's not coming back whatsoever. We want the focus to be Scarecrow and Arkham Knight."
The game focuses primarily on the dynamic between the Joker and Batman - again - thanks to Scarecrow's toxin. Arkham Knight ends up being a whiny kid tormented by Joker.

Arkham Knight's motives aren't explained at all. For some reason, the helmet changes to red when unmasked - arbitrarily. Todd goes from only wanting Batman dead to saving his fucking life - within a half an hour. Hush was BUTCHERED with a quick time event, after having such an awesome appearance in City. There are FOUR combat/predator maps, all of which you play in the story. You cannot choose to play as any character from the previous games (Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman). Nightwing is only playable on a Dual Play combat map, Robin and Catwoman are completely absent, and Azrael (who is fun as HELL, admittedly) is on one combat map and that's it.

Battle mode is fun but overused. There are 4 Battlemode challenge maps that don't really do anything interested. Riddler races are fun but are so wat it's ridiculous.

Ugh. I can't even explain how upset I am at the game in general. It's still fun, and the first two acts are SICK. But this unorganised rant is over for now until I 100% the game.
I haven't played it, but I don't understand why they didn't just make it a red hood game...
They could have easily still just made him the villain and have him change sides at the end

Or if they REALLY wanted the "Arkham Knight" they could have just made it some new character who idolized batman, or even somebody who's family had been killed by the joker or something (maybe they worked at Arkham asylum?) and blamed batman for it and thought he could be a better batman.

I just don't understand

I mean, don't get me wrong. I like Red Hood as much as the next guy. The problem is, Rocksteady LIED to us and said he was an all-original character.

It's so disappointing because prior to the foreshadowing of his true identity, the Arkham Knight is such a sick character. He's gotten the jump on Batman multiple times, he LOOKS badass, and his voice is sick.

And I've said it before, literally anybody other than Jason Todd would have been a better reveal.

A few machinima's here or there. Nothing insanely high yet.

Voice acting is an underrated art, in my opinion.

Oh my god. Finally, someone asks this question. I've been waiting forever to post something like this. Let's do a Top 5 to keep it short.

(Keep in mind I'm ordering the list based on what would work well with my face and stuff.)

5. Khary Payton - Drebin from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Azrael/Michael Lane from Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight
I'd be using the Azrael voice. Wouldn't fit that well, but I'd have a killer voicemail recording.

4. Charles Dance - Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones, Emperor Emhyr var Emreis of Nilfgaard from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
This guy just has such a demanding voice. It would be unbelievable to have that ability, but unfortunately, I don't think it would work well for me. I'm not British, so I don't see it happening.

3. Patric Zimmerman - Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
"BROTHER! IT'S BEEN TOO LONG!" Yeah, I would never shut up. Would work a bit better than the other two voices, but it's a bit obnoxious.

2. Robert Craig Smith - Batman/Bruce Wayne from Batman: Arkham Origins
Utterly intimidating to the core, this would just be amazing. Gravely and awesome, again, I would never shut up. The amount of respect I could command with a loud "ENOUGH" would be unreal.

1. Mark Rolston - Slade Wilson/Deathstroke from Batman: Arkham Origins, Andrew Del Rio from Halo 4
This one would just suit me. It's intimidating, but not in the same was as Batman. It's not loud, but cold, calculating. Intimidating. I'm not in any way trying to insinuate that I am cold, calculating or intimidating, but I certainly look the part. At least, that's what I've been told.

Honourable mentions:
David Hayter - Solid Snake
Keith David - Arbiter
Mike Colter - Agent Locke
Harrison Ford - Han Solo
Temuera Morrison - Jango Fett
Mike Erwin - Jak

Would buy. He has taken the spotlight away from Batman in every game he's been in. He's the better character, he deserves his own title.

I would prefer an Arkham Asylum look to it, though. Not sure how he would work in an open world environment.

Plus he's better then Batman, and has defeated batman 3 TIMES ALONE.

He's just a better character than Batman in every way. Superior mentally and physically. Plus, his relationship with Dick Grayson (who is coincidentally, also more interesting than Batman) is just perf.

Plus he has two swords and two guns, and he also has a sense of humor. And not only that but he's like Captain America + Batman combined but more deadly.

Don't forget his Promethean staff. He has Batman's sense of strategy, 1616 Captain America's abilities, and he's a mercenary. Which means you can literally make him do anything you want in a game and justify it with "moneyzz lol".

Yeah. I was kinda mad that they didn't update his character model, either. I mean, he looks BADASS in Origins, but a few improvements here or there would make him look a little less tacked-on for fan service than he is now.

Still, he's easily the coolest character in the game (after you find out the Arkham Knight's true identity. He used to be cool). He deserves his own title. I love it when he's talking to Deacon Blackfire about god. I don't remember what he said, but he just sounded so bad ass.

I'm afraid I don't get it.

Actually never mind, I don't remember what he said either. (Forget about the video I showed you, that was a common mistake I made.)

It was something like...

Blackfire: You are just a mercenary. You have no god.
Slade: M4 Carbine railsight, full caliber sight ignited ballistics. That's my god.

I know what I wrote doesn't make any sense, but it sounds cool. And that's how I recall it in my mind, lol.

Whatever you say Snake Wilson (Deathstroke)

tfw Snake and Slade look identical.

Slade

Spoiler
I didn't think he was Azrael. I also know Bruce wouldn't kill himself or anyone else, let alone Alfred. That's just stupid. He faked his death, like he has before in other media. But I was still confused on that thing at the end. You're saying, Bruce, is using fear toxin to make people see a scary look Batman? I kinda figured it was someone else. I figured Bruce was done being Batman. Even if he isn't out and about doing. He still is Batman, if he's sending fear toxin around.

Spoiler
I do believe that that is what we are made to believe. The game never leads us to believe anyone would be "ready" to take up the mantle (by Batman's standards) and when Bruce Wayne stops being a separate entity from Batman, the only way "to protect them (Gotham's citizens)" is to "kill" Bruce Wayne. The fear toxin is used to make Batman more mythological. Even one of the thugs says "Batman's lost all his... mystique. This whole Bruce Wayne thing ruins it for me." The criminals aren't afraid of Batman because, now, he's a man. The fear toxin makes him look like something more, especially since everyone "knows" Bruce Wayne is dead.

While the ending was certainly left ambiguous for a reason, there's really no evidence for it being anyone else.
