The Flood / Re: Hey religious people, try on this theory for size

How does one become more intelligent then?

Based on my understanding of it, one doesn't become more intelligent. Everyone has a capacity to apply knowledge, some are more inclined than others. The ones who are more inclined are more intelligent.

So basically, you can be born an atheist?

Well, everyone is born an atheist, but that is completely irrelevant to what I said.

I'm not saying that you're more intelligent if you're an atheist - that is also false. I'm mostly just playing devil's advocate, here.

Atheism isn't free thinking. It's just a bunch of geeky losers who are shunned by society.

Categorically false.

Except that's not what happens. You soul goes to heaven or hell. If you scared nigga, go to church.
So basically if you parrot the same line of crap over and over again it somehow becomes true? Sorry, no amount of belief makes something a fact.

Same goes for you bro. If you just say God doesn't exist and there is no afterlife over and over is it true?

I KNOW God exists. You'll find him one day too. Until then, I'll pray for you dog.
No, it's really not the same thing. If I said there's a unicorn behind my garage, then you say that there isn't one, then basically you're applying the same theory. There is no god because it's a silly superstition, you will probably never grow out of because you're small minded, you don't have the capacity to think that deeply which is stunning to me, but sadly true of most of humanity.

Yeah bro I'm small minded. Meanwhile, I have a higher level of education than you...makes sense son.

How could you possibly quantify that? Do you know the OP in-person?

Not to mention, your education doesn't make you intelligent, it makes you knowledgable. There's a difference.

If we were purely carnivorous, we would never have progressed as a species the way we have, settling down to farm.

There's absolutely no way of knowing for sure if we would even have cultures or a concept of morality.

Not necessarily. See Sandtrap's repsonse.

We would no doubt be different, but a detail that I failed to mention originally was that we pressupose that we were the same, subtracting our omnivorous nature.

How would it be immoral? It would be eat or die, there would be no question.

We are taking lives from lesser creatures to encourage our own survival. Which is selfish, and could be considered immoral.

We are more intelligent than lions and can question whether what we do is wrong or not, for one.
And assuming we were a purely carnivorous race we should just remove ourselves from existence based on that alone? That doesn't even begin to make sense.

Well, yes. If our surviving is based upon lesser creatures dying, some could consider that immoral. It's not senseless. Counter-intuitive, maybe.

If humans were purely carnivorous then vegetarians wouldn't even really be a thing... 'cause like... they'd all be dead.
I'm not talking about vegetarians, though. It's not really relevant.

Seeing as we don't consider a lion immoral for eating a wild gazelle, why would the morality of the consumption of meat by humans even be questioned?

...would that make the consumption of animals moral?

This is, of course, assuming you believe that the consumption of animals is immoral. Which you should just assume for the purpose of discussion ITT.

"War has changed. It's no longer about nations, ideologies or ethnicity. It's an endless series of proxy battles, fought by mercenaries and machines. War, and its consumption of life, has become a well-oiled machine. War has changed. ID tagged soldiers carry ID tagged weapons, use ID tagged gear. Nanomachines inside their bodies enhance and regulate their abilities. Genetic control. Information control. Emotion control. Battlefield control. Everything is monitored, and kept under control. War has changed. The age of deterrence has become the age of control. All in the name of averting catastrophe from weapons of mass destruction. And he who controls the battlefield, controls history. War has changed. When the battlefield is under total control, war... becomes routine."

Never had a problem with it. My biggest issue right now is that the X+O combo is non-existent from Origins,  but that the insta-dismantle is still on the far more difficult to reach square+triangle.
None of that drivel made any sense.

Yes it did.

The insta-dismantle combo is "square+triangle". That combo is harder to reach than "x+circle", which does not have a combo assigned to it. They should have reassigned the insta-dismantle to "x+circle".
Those aren't buttons on a controller though.

What is this? Why don't you stop playing dumb?

I wouldn't bother

Hence why I didn't reply to him further. I just wanted to see, however small the chance, if he was being serious.

I fucking love Digimon. More than Pokemon, actually, but it just didn't have games like Pokemon did.

They had a smash bros rip off that was really fun

And they had a 4 player co op rpg that was cool

I remember getting turnt the fuck up as a kid one year because my mom maid a birthday cake shaped like augumon, hand made a gabuman piñata, painted me a picture of Tai, and rented a Digimon bounce house.

Lol

I remember the SSB style game. That shit was fun as fuck.

Still bullshit, though. I'm actually not that excited for Halo 5 anymore (not because of this.)

I'm kinda mad about TLOU. It's story ended so perfectly that a sequel to those characters would ruin it, IMO.

The only way it would work is if they had new characters, and at that point, the chances of them having the same level of chemistry as Joel and Ellie is extremely low. The game's selling point is the character interaction, but if that isn't done right, all you have is a mediocre TPS with survival aspects tacked on. It can't work in any way.
I could see them doing an older ellie and more grey joel. It was a good ending, but there's plenty to explore there if they wanted. It'd be hard to start over and get attached to completely different characters.

Chances are, it'll ruin it.

The best thing about the ending is the ambiguity of it. A sequel would ruin that.

And I agree, starting over with other characters isn't a good idea. Which is why they shouldn't do it. But making a sequel to JoEllie is just as bad an idea.

I never has a veggie burger

Most of them are trash... but some of them are good. Burger King's is also surprisingly good.

I've been using the A50's for a long time now. I have zero complaints. Basically a wireless version of the A40's, which are already top-of-the-line.
