That was quite humourous.

so didn't even know Wonder Woman was going to be in this. Who's playing her?

Gal Gadot.

goddamn hyped

Affleck is going to be a god tier batman although i'm still iffy on his Bruce Wayne. Christian Bale did probably the best Bruce Wayne to date because he's a rich pompous douche IRL.
I don't know about that... I never liked Bale's Batman, but yeah, his Bruce Wayne was spot on.

But Affleck looks pretty darn close to The Dark Knight Returns' Bruce Wayne. Lets hope that's the only thing they've stolen from that story...

Quote
Personally i don't have a problem with Eisenberg's Luthor. That's just me I guess. They honestly should have gotten the guy from that show Smallville, he would have been better.
Rosenbaum would have been to Luthor what Affleck is to Batman. And I know it's a pretty popular opinion, but Cranston would have easily been my first choice... no reason Lex has to be young here.

i wonder who pitched the idea of casting eisenberg
Probably the same guy that wants Tyrese to be John Stewart
i don't know who either of those are
John Stewart is the black Green Lantern and this is Tyrese

people care about green lantern?

I don't get it either, but he's a staple of the Justice League. And if it comes down to it, John Stewart>Hal Jordan.
I wasn't specifically talking about Hal. The Green Lantern Corps in general are lolworthy.
They're like the Fantastic 4 of the DCverse.

[Blank]Corps are shit, every last one of them. I don't understand the appeal at all.

I was simply saying that if I had to have a Green Lantern in my movie, it would be Stewart over Jordan any day of the week.

Looks pretty awesome.
That line from Martha was top notch.

That Batman grappling scene was so cool, man.

I'm actually amped for this movie now, even though we all know Batman is going to curbstomp Supes because he's more popular.
lol Yes!
It's kind of unfortunate but I guess they have to dumb down Superman or else that comic of .000001 seconds into the fight with Bats in the sun would come true.
I'm excited to see it now.

Well if it was me, I would have just came up with a storyline where they don't necessarily fight, but where Bats gets the advantage over him multiple times. Like, outsmarting him like he did the the DCAU.

Find a place where they can have mutual respect for each other.
That's exactly it. DCAU was awesome in that respect. Those moments that showed Bats could not only keep up with the rest but sometimes outperform the rest with his intellect. Which makes so much more sense.
But alas... big explosions!

Essentially. I mean, the DCAU is virtually flawless, and I think Batman being "the only one" capable of dodging Darkseid's Omega Beams is a bit of a stretch, but that version of Batman is definitely where they should be drawing inspiration. Not The Dark Knight Returns fuck-face.

They need to show Batman out-thinking Superman, but not in a way that makes Superman look like a dumbass. If they did that, they'd need to have a Superman have some pretty smart dialogue and display his calculative prowess like in the New 52.

It looks like they're going to try to cram a mini origin story for Batsy too which they really don't need

Along with Wonder Woman and Lex Luthor, it seems like the movie will be too busy and end up being Spiderman III

I don't know about an "origin story" for Bats. I mean, having one flashback to his parents death doesn't constitute an origin story. TDKR did it perfectly - just one scene that demonstrates his initial motivation.

Though you could be right, look at the 2:00 mark. You see, presumably, Jason Todd's old suit that he was killed in. Some people think it's Grayson, but I'm sticking with Todd until further evidence pops up.

Wonder Woman seemed really out of place.

Agreed. Especially in her Wonder Woman costume. I could understand her being a political figure, being at Wayne's parties and shit. That might've been interesting.

But nah, we gotta have a shitty action scene that she has no idea how to play.

Suicide Squad Trailer... kinda not good.

Okay, so... that was pretty good, IMO.

I'm completely sold on Affleck, now. I wasn't ever against him, but he straight up looks the part perfectly here.

Eisenberg is still a no. That "the red capes are coming" line is just cringe-worthy.

Gadot I'm still not happy about. She just isn't a good enough actor to play Diana, IMO. Still, I reserve the right to change my opinion later on.

I love Martha Kent. "You don't owe this world a damn thing. You never did." Bless her.

It's nice to see Irons in his costume, although, it's going to be hard to beat Caine.

As always, Cavill is the best Superman we've ever had.

I wish they whited-out Batman's eyes when he's in his normal costume, though. He looks weird...

That's basically all I have to say. Thoughts?

Edit: I've started making gifs from the trailer. Use 'em if you want.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2006

I wouldn't mind this actually. The game has the solid fundamentals, everything else is just bad. With a little elbow grease, it could really come around.

The Flood / Re: What order should I watch Star Wars in?
« on: July 11, 2015, 01:31:50 PM »
I've always maintained that the best order to watch them in is

ANH - ESB - ROTJ - TPM - AOTC - ROTS

Originals first, prequels second.

You'll miss all the subtle nuances the prequels deliver if you don't watch the originals first, which will just crush all enjoyment entirely. Not to mention, like Verb said, the change in graphical quality will be completely jarring from 3 to 4.

Think you're hard?

Oh, I know it.

16969
Misleading title.

16970
That's just not true. When I run Blast Shield I don't get killed by RPGs or noobtubes. It just doesn't happen.
Then perhaps it is just coincidence for you, as everyone I have known says, more or less, the same thing I said about it. Not to mention, it still uses up your primary grenade slot, which isn't exactly cool beans.

Quote
With sentry guns you really only need to pay attention to what's going on. It's really easy to deal with by using a flash grenade. The pred is still easy to avoid by sticking close to buildings.
Of course, naturally, there are counters to everything. There are counters to BXR as well, that doesn't make it any less broken. Also, no one really uses Flash grenades. Stuns are far better.

Quote
Also, I'd like to point out that this is sort of contradictory:
Quote
it's so hopelessly unbalanced and broken that it really allows you to make it what you want. You can really dominate with any gun or any playstyle.
If it isn't balanced you wouldn't be able to dominate with just about everything in the game.

That's a common misconception, actually. It basically follows the line of thought that "if everything is overpowered, nothing is!" which simply isn't true. If the time to kill is virtually non-existent, the game loses any measure of skill and waters down to a "who saw who first" battle. I know, I know, CoD has a reputation for being just that. But in reality, it's not true. How many times have you been shot from behind, do a 180-turn and get the kill? There's a measure of skill there that wouldn't be visible if everything was an instant-kill.

I like to say that BO2 is the most balanced CoD, because you really can do well with every weapon in that game. The difference being the visible skill gap. It's much harder to find in MW2.

16971
Let me preface this by saying that MW2 is my favourite CoD and is in my top 10 favourite games of all time.

Having trouble with those nadelaunchers? Run a blast shield. Never die to a tube again.
We both know that's bullshit. You think that people haven't thought about doing that? Trouble is, it doesn't really do anything worth giving up your primary grenade. It's effects are negligible at best.

Quote
Having trouble with killstreaks? Get a fucking stinger class.
What about things that are immune to Stingers? Sentry guns, predator missiles, EMPs? I know a lot of people don't run these KSs, but still...
Not to mention, people usually don't run Stingers as their secondary unless air support is active, in which case they'll have a completely separate class to use with cold-blooded. And that'll just fuck up your entire playstyle for at least 2 respawns.

Still, one could just avoid all that jazz and play Barebones, which is quite fun.

Quote
UMP troubles? Any AR or LMG counters it.
Having trouble with a SCAR? Run a .50.
Any gun can counter any gun, really. Take today, for example. I hopped into a Team Tactical game (Domination on Favela), and I got wrecked by a Mini Uzi. A fucking Mini Uzi. Who uses that shit.

But I think that's part of MW2's charm - it's so hopelessly unbalanced and broken that it really allows you to make it what you want. You can really dominate with any gun or any playstyle. You should have seen this kid earlier - Riot Shield and RPG? 24 - 2, Team Deathmatch.

Somewhat relevant, I remember reading a Black Panther comic in which T'challa has a conversation with Dr. Doom.

Doom says something along the lines of "the african people are physically superior but lack the intelligence of other races". Which is pretty fucked up if it's not true, considering this was only published a few years ago...
If Doom said it then its correct, because Doom is always right.

Well, yeah. But also because if he was wrong, that makes Marvel pretty fucking racist.
Well Doom said it and we all know Doom suffers from a severe case of Messiah Complex and thus believes he is superior to every single human in history. Which he kinda is to a degree.

The way he said it wasn't meant to be taken as a boost to himself, though. It was more like:

*Panther walks into room, kicks some ass or whatever*

Doom
"I've always admired the African specimen... their physical superiority-"

Panther
"If you finish that sentence with "makes up for their lack of intelligence", I'm going to wail on you."

Doom
"But it's true, though."

The situation clearly seemed to imply that physically, black>white (or at least, predispositioned to be so).
