I'd argue TDKR was before Miller went insane. I disagree. Still, that doesn't make the book any good. Regarding Superman, in the comic he's only beaten because of a number of circumstances worked in Batman's favor. Of course fanboys are going to ignore context. "beaten" He wasn't, but I'm glad you realise it's bullshit regardless. Personally I enjoy TDKR. It works well as an alternate universe one-off story. I know a lot of people like it, but I just thought the whole book was... meh. Just poor portrayals of a lot of characters... Batman kills and uses guns (despite being hoplophobic, though I can forgive that somewhat, as Silver Age had just ended IIRC). Two-Face, Joker, the Mutant leader. They all sucked as villains. The other thing is, is that it completely inverted the two characters. Batman has always been the authoritarian, putting law and order first. This is the reason Batman's arch nemesis, the Joker, is an agent of Chaos, because that is Batman's opposite. Superman would always put altruism above the law, and basically every portrayal besides the DKR one shows this, whether it is him forcibly disarming the world's governments or telling the UN off in the New 52. This is why his arch nemesis is Lex Luthor, who is an agent of Order and is part of "the establishment". If it helps, I'll use D&D terms: Batman is 'Lawful Good' (I'd argue 'Lawful Neutral' in the Miller/Dark Age versions) and the Joker is Chaotic Evil. Superman is 'Chaotic Good' and Lex Luthor is 'Lawful Evil'.

The only quality threads are in Serious, but they're so few and far between the thousands of economic/political discussions (which wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't certifiably illiterate on those subjects). But maybe that's just my specific tastes, I know not everyone shares my serious nature regarding the forums...

The faggy way in which he said that line completely eviscerated any shred of hope I had for Eisenberg as Luthor.
I would agree, but I think the scene where he "baptises" Superman balances things out. He just looks diabolical. It's not cause to say that he'll be good, just that it's too early to abandon hope.

It's a disservice to Superman (and Batman, but more Superman than anything else) and is the primary justification for simpletons to think that Batman could hold his own against Superman - when in reality, there are maybe 3 contrived scenarios where he would hold his own (not win - hold his own). Frank Miller is also a sexist, racist pig and to be quite frank (no pun intended), he can't write for shit.

Harley seems inspired by the Arkham series, which is probably why I like it a little. I don't even see how. She just looks cosmetically unappealing to me. The whole art style of the movie seems off.
I like the direction that they're going with the visuals. Very punkish and up with the times.

Nah, Goyer is writing. He's a secondary writer to Chris Terrio. Snyder picked Terrio's screenplay over Goyer's (which would have been less "The Dark Knight Returns" and more "Man of Steel 2" if Goyer had won out. Oh well.) Also judging from the trailer, and the rumors, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman might be fighting Doomsday if the last 20 minutes are pure action...to which I say "WHAT A WASTE." Agreed. He would have been an interesting arc to cover after Justice League. But for the final battle, if I had to choose between 1. Batman fighting Superman, inspired by The Dark Knight Returns, where Batman beats the living fuck out of Superman (which we all know would disservice both characters, especially Superman considering it's his sequel) or 2. I'm not. I mean, unless they do like a two-minute "quick origin story" for all the characters involved, this movie might be a long sit-through like Batman vs Superman.
I don't know about that... BvS has the potential to be good. I'm fairly sure that Goyer isn't writing it, so it may be more action-packed than MoS. Plus, the last 20 minutes or so are rumoured to be pure action. Harley looks nice, I still don't buy Joker, and Killer Croc hahahahahahahahahahaha.
Harley and Joker look so out of place, in my opinion. I don't but either of them (or Lex/Diana, for that matter).

No, you're right. It would just make sense for him to be in really good shape. It's absolutely not a requirement. Rosenbaum/Cranston aren't in the greatest shape, either.
