What does it do? Does it function as some sort of 'mute' system or something?
I was going through my profile and I had never noticed it before.

Neither. They're inherently selfish, and evil results from that more often than good. But luckily "feeling good about myself" is a feeling that a lot of humans try to achieve through morality, which can create good acts. An acceptable answer. I'm still not quite sure how I would answer the question. I mean, humans are prone to animalistic tendencies, which, while not bad, are certainly not good. Even if we put shackles on those tendencies with our contemporary sense of morality, we are still drawn to those tendencies. I'll have to give it some more thought, but I seem to be leaning to the "no" side of the spectrum.

You should just open up the question to
"What would you do if you were dictator of the world?"
Might make it a bit more approachable. But I'm going to put my two cents in because everyone else seems to be.
-I would abolish the meat/dairy industries For obvious reasons.
-forcibly sterilize everyone Because then all these other trivial matters will only be relevant for the next 150 years or so. No one will exist after that.

That doesn't really answer the question, though.

Are humans inherently good or evil?

Public catholic schools? Now that's weird. I doubt it will be for much longer, honestly. We're just not in a position where our biggest problem is public school funding for Catholic schools, y'know? And you mean weather in the whole country? Well, obviously, the farther north you go, the worse the weather gets. But it's still cold for 3/4's of the year. It's decent from April-October, with June/July/August being really nice. But yeah, when I think of a Canadian winter I envision dead, frozen bodies on the side of the road with snow above the tree lines. Hah, it's not all that bad where I live. The snow can get several feet high in Quebec (Montreal in particular), and other provinces. But I live in Ontario which is the most American-like Province, so it's tolerable. For now, at least.

Won't be buying it on release. I'll wait for reviews.

Buying Halo 5 for the story and multiplayer.
Crazy, right?

Okay, but the US has nothing to make up for. Religion, feminism and the LGBTQ social issues are practically non-existent in Canada (feminism to a lesser extent, but whatever). The only thing we need to fix is the fact that Catholic schools are public - that's bullshit. It's nice you have free healthcare though. I hear the wait times are pretty bad, however. I'm never really seen the health care wait times as being characteristically "bad". And I feel I have a decent frame of reference, as I've been to multiple hospitals in the US and Caribbean. The one thing I'll give the U.S. over us is the weather. God, I hate winter. That's why I want to move south when the time is right.

What does Canada even contribute to the world? Besides really good musicians. It's nice and all but the taxes and pricing of goods seems terrible.
It's really not that big a deal. Our free health care, stable economy, etc. more than makes up for it. You won't find anyone complaining about 70% of the social issues found in Serious while living in Canada, either.

I was just going to make a joke about book prices, but that too.
The Canadian dollar is only .77 of the USD, so like I said,
The difference is negligible. Even if it weren't, it's still a far better place to live.
More expensive books, a less expansive economy, and a higher average income tax rate.
Great place, eh?
I'm no Meta when it comes to economics, but I'm pretty sure the books are more expensive because of the less valuable dollar. Which is, again, negligible. And I'm also pretty sure our less expansive economy is because of our significantly lower population count.

Whatever it takes to get you through the night man. If only it did. And hockey is such a stupid fucking sport, I can't even fathom why anyone cares about it. I agree.

Canada is obscenely polite, but I wouldn't want to live there.
It would be awful.
I'm unable to tell if you're serious...
What's so awful about living in Canada?
What are you trying to tell me? That Canada's dollar is worth less than America's? I don't see how thats a problem. The difference is negligible. Even if it weren't, it's still a far better place to live.

Of course I'm serious.
What would be good about Canada? You're a bunch of socialists who don't even have $1 bills.
Plus you think Hockey is entertaining.
Okay, good. You're not being serious.

Southern Canada is the best place to live. On this side of the world, at least.

He was intimidating to speak to, because of his unwaveringly austere tone, and his louquacious, sesquipedalian verbiage. So, Meta.

Damn you, Meta. I was going to make a thread similar to this, albeit, less technical.
Ah, go ahead and make it. I'll still be interested.
Next week. I'll wait for your topic to simmer down.

what proof do we have that h5's story is going to be any better than h4?
We don't have proof of that. But it's a reasonable assumption to make, that Halo 5 will be close to or better than Halo 4. Its story wasn't good, but it was better than anything that preceded it.
16821
« on: July 15, 2015, 06:22:53 PM »
the beta showed a marked improvement over h4's multiplayer. That doesn't make it good. Most of the people i know from the competitive community are buying it for that reason. That doesn't surprise me in the least.
16822
« on: July 15, 2015, 06:17:36 PM »
im not buying h5. lol. not unless im satisfied with the sate of competitive multiplayer several months after release.
I never insinuated that you were buying Halo 5. I was talking about people who admit that they will buy Halo 5. What other reason would they buy Halo 5, if not for the story?

So what would you buy Halo 5 for? It's multiplayer? after h4? wat

It was an extreme analogy ok? There's no such thing as an extreme analogy. Yours was a poor analogy. They don't follow the same thread of logic. Just letting out what I feel. Which is all well and good but you just come off as an idiot.

Like, you aren't making sense.
When it doesn't affect you at all, what do you have to hate about people being happy? What's your point?
16827
« on: July 15, 2015, 04:55:36 PM »
It doesn't affect me And my opinion doesn't affect them It DOES affect you. If you hate them and compare their happiness to Hitler killing Jews, something is clearly bothering you. You just can't justify it.
16828
« on: July 15, 2015, 04:46:18 PM »
So what?
Happiness has nothing to do with it Hitler was happy killing millions of Jews Are you fucking kidding me.Hitler was imposing death on millions of Jews to make him happy. These people are not imposing anything on anyone else for their happiness. That is a bat-shit fucking RETARDED analogy. It's the fact that they're so naive to think that it'll actually work
Why does that matter? How does it affect YOU?
16829
« on: July 15, 2015, 04:26:36 PM »
There's nothing 'cringey' about it. Regrettable, maybe. But at least people are happy. There's no reason to get bitter over it.
