Oh.

Okay, then that isn't my point. My point being that just because someone dislikes Halo 4 doesn't automatically mean they like 3/Reach. It's a little less specific to this thread now, but I'm not really sure why Commando would bring up this argument with Septy/Rocketman if he's had it in the past.

Plus, Commando has a habit of rambling and jumping to conclusion based on what I've seen.

Which is my point.

They hadn't stated that until after the fact.

This happens to me all the time. I say Halo 4's storytelling sucks and they immediately assume I like Halo 3.

]It's better how?

I suppose the combination of dialogue changes and sub-par voice acting is what makes the changes far more noticeable.

Quote
From an objective standpoint, TTS has far better designed and put together animation than MGS1's janky ass animation.

Yeah...

fuck no.

YouTube

Over-the-top =/= better.

Though I can say the walking animations and stuff are much better, but that isn't to the credit of TTS. That's because they're reused from MGS2.

Quote
And realism? This is MGS - the franchise full of clones, robotic limbs, cyborg ninjas, giant robots, and a mute that can teleport.

So? None of those are unrealistic in the Metal Gear Universe. They've spent 25 years setting up an established level of realism and the animations from the cutscenes in TTS don't fit the bill.

This idea of disregarding realism because some aspects aren't realistic in our own world is kind of ridiculous.

Just because someone dislikes Halo 4's storytelling doesn't mean they enjoy Halo 3 or Reach. Commando has got to be the biggest fanboy on this website.

"Halo 4's story sucked."

"Like what the fuck are you retarded why do you like halo 3 it's basically filler and has no story whatsoever and the dialogue is complete ass you don't even play as sergeant dude like shut the fuck up you obviously don't like anything good you probably like reach too lmao now that i think of it"

Most of the dialogue is the same though

The changes are what make it shit in comparison.

and it's not like MGS1 had good animation anyway.

True, but it was still better, and more realistic than Twin Snakes.

It ruined the best boss battle ever with Revolver Ocelot.

Also, why do people hate The Twin Snakes version of MGS1?

Because it made unnecessary changes from the original. The animation was off, gameplay didn't translate well from the top-down of MGS1 to the TPS-esque gameplay of MGS2.

The voice acting was also pretty shit in comparison. Same with the dialogue.

16392
It's something I deal with on a regular basis. How much of my myself do I sacrifice so that people will like me?

Normally I don't find many people who agree with me on a lot of issues so I tend to not have many close friends.

It's whatever though. I don't know what I would do with myself if my friend group was just a circle jerk of the same opinion.

I thought PO wasn't canon

Well, Kojima has stated it's not entirely canon. But he hasn't explicitly said which parts are canon and which aren't.

Still worth playing or watching because it's fun and interesting.

Agreed. It was quite interesting IMO

Welcome back btw

I mean, it's not like he hasn't needlessly done shit like this in the past. MGS1 had Sniper Wolf, MGS3 had Eva and The Boss, Peace Walker had Paz.
Yeah but have you never looked at Kojima's male characters? It's not just the females that he hypersexualizes.

What does that have to do with the price of eggs in Belgium? The topic was oversexualised females.

Paz in Peace Walker...
"Zoom in" it says! It'll be great it says!
I had no idea what that truly meant. Best part was that my brother was in the same room with me while i did that...

Klassic Kojima.

And THIS is what exploiting men in video games looks like.

Hold onto your panties, ladies.

I need that to be an alternative costume.

I posted this pic in that thread, hehe

While Kojima has said that her partial nudity actually has a narrative purpose, it's still exploitation IMO.

I mean, it's not like he hasn't needlessly done shit like this in the past. MGS1 had Sniper Wolf, MGS3 had Eva and The Boss, Peace Walker had Paz.

what the fuck is this bullshit

Don't judge.

MG, MG2:SS, MGS, and MGS2 follow the story of Solid Snake. After MGS2, there was to be no more focus of that particular Snake, so Kojima went back in time to focus on Snake's dad/clone, Big Boss. That's where MGS3 takes  place. After that game became a critical success (and Kojima admitted to liking BB more than SS), he decided to focus more on him than anything else. But there was a problem. People hated the way MGS2 ended. It was too ambiguous and meta, and after getting multiple death threats, Kojima decided to make MGS4. Which is why it's shit, but that isn't the point.

After that, he went back to focus on BB. Which is where we get Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes and the final act, The Phantom Pain.
okay that actually makes sense. I thought they were just out of order

That would be pretty fucking hilarious. Sounds like something Dunkney would do.

TFW BioShock and Spec Ops: The Line get praise for shit MGS2 did years before.

Like it irks me so much

because mgs2 is really the magnum opus of storytelling in the series

and people are mad because it's too complex for them

so then we get the WORST sequel in the series that fucking ruins everything

mgs4

ugh.

But I mean, chronologically --

MGS3
MGS Portable Ops
MGS Peace Walker
MGSV Ground Zeroes
MGSV The Phantom Pain
Metal Gear
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Don't forget the best game in the series, Metal Gear Rising: Return of the Vengeful Raiden's Revenge: The Redemption.

Shhhhh.
