I bought MGS1 on my PS3 last night, going to try it tonight. Any idea how long it might take a first-timer?

It's not a particularly difficult game, per se. It's more about learning how the game works and how to play against it's weaknesses.

You're mainly going to want to sneak behind people and learn to strangle them. Hold down square to auto-aim and stuff.

I'd say anywhere between 8-18 hours to beat. It's a really, really good game once you learn the mechanics. I had a hard time getting over them but when you do, they pay off is extraordinary.

And yes, TPP looks fucking unreal.

Oh okay, you misunderstood what I said.

Nothing to see here, move along.

I honestly do...

Erm... why?

(Last response Korra, I promise. I won't turn this into an antinatalism thread. I just want to hear Class's thoughts).

Instead give them immortality, that would naturally give people are reason not to mate.

I'd sooner give them eternal youth. People shouldn't be forced to be alive, ala, immortality. But if they wanna live forever, more power to 'em.

Nonexistence is the worst possible fate.

I don't wanna turn this into that conversation, but...

you can't honestly believe that.

Create an afterlife where everyone goes to when they die. Then give myself immortality and live my life on Earth in luxury.

What would people do in the afterlife?

It would just be easier to let everyone die off. If you're omnipotent just make everyone sterile.

Yeah, especially at FTL speeds. Plus not needing anything but sunlight.

Actually yeah now that I think about it photosynthesis is my favourite of Superman's powers lol

I would think making everyone a master of the universe in some way sounds fun. An utopia of supermen and superwomen, would be preferable over oblivion.

For it to be preferable over oblivion it would have to be absolutely blissful; perfect.

But I see what you're saying. I would cut off my arm to be able to do the same to my foes with heat vision.

Time left: 9 years, 0 months and 21 days

I've only got a few years left.

Make existence perfect.
Would you finally give Captain Picard hair?

If he truly wanted it, yes.

I feel like I would essentially make everyone a master of their own universe, where anything that's tangible is just a product of the user's mind. No consequences.

Or do the easy thing and end all existence ever. But I want to be Big Boss so bad.

And it didn't take long for you to get to the point that you and oss were talking about shit I had no fucking clue about and you were vastly ahead of me

Well, Snake has surpassed Metal Gear.

Y'know, if you hopped online I could explain things in like, half an hour, tops.

But I ain't gunna force ya'. I just wanna play a game with you, man. It's been too long.

Are you serious?

I thought you were joking lol
it's got a horrible learning curve and horrible community but it's actually fun and I really like a lot of the characters and art styles. Plus one of my roomates is in top 3% of players in the world so he's helped me get into it a lot...

I'm not going to judge or anything. I've never played it.

But now I see why you couldn't make the time to come play some Warframe with me.

This thread made me think that I'm the worse possible outcome. The fact that I'm fully aware and in acceptance of the moral and ethical transgressions and still eating meat rather than someone that is ignorant of the fact makes me worse than them I feel. So I'm just going to stop making excuses and I guess mark today as the first day of not eating meat. We'll see how this goes. Remember this for me is an issue of convenience more than anything. I can't just run down to McDonald's and get something cheap and quick. But goddamn when I say it like that it really is possibly the shittiest excuse out there.

Honestly, good luck dude. I think you've made the right decision.

That's another user you've converted.

Could the same argument not be made for literally any component of the Fermi Paradox? Is it wise for us to work towards advancements in medicine if perhaps the reason we don't see advanced races elsewhere is because once you reach age ooptilian your race wins the game and ascends into NG+?

I found this to be ridiculously clever.
