Anyways, we're nine days away

For today's question, I want to know what your favourite line from any of the Metal Gears is and why.

My favourite is going to be the opening to MGS4. It's fucking amazing, even if I hate the game. Definitely one of the strongest scenes in gaming.

A close second is the false ending to Peace Walker, where BB takes the mantle of Big Boss finally. Awesome.
Why do you hate MGS4?
I still remember the first time I played it. And there was some soldier with the shits. He was even hiding in a trash can or something. I was like lol what the fuck.

Ill post my feelings about the game when I get home, im on mobile atm and its a lengthy post

Gaming / Re: Do you go out of your way to get achievements/trophies?
« on: August 23, 2015, 10:34:54 AM »
I only try if I have a history of getting them all.

For example, I have at one point or another gotten a platinum in all the Metal Gears, Ratchet and Clanks and Jak and Daxters.

Ive also gotten the platinum in both TASM games. Same with the Arkham games.

The bullet line in Peace Walker is SO good.

PW is full of great moments, it's why I consider it to be the second best Metal Gear.

MGS2 had objectively the best story out of all the Metal Gears.

If you go on GAF, it seems huge chunks of the story have been leaked. I red some :( Seems kinda... Crazy? Unexpected? Yeah, stuff like that. Basically. Some guy had a guide to the game. Pretty fancy looking and all. And well, we now know the story. Or most of it. Spoilers below for anyone wanting to read. I am not spoiling the story, or telling you anything about it. But for those who are interested, I will list the number of missions. So hyped, if it's true.

Spoiler
50 main story missions, 157 side missions

Could be off by a bit. But it's around there.

Dude cmon

I just said dont post anything  :'(

The final piece of the puzzle.

This is whats been missing. Once I acquire the bionic hand, nothing will stop me from becoming Big boss.
Make your mother figure slice one of your eyes, and have a big Russian dude torture you with electricity.

The Boss didn't slice out BB's eye, though.
I kno, just to make sure.

If it's any consolation I'm half blind.
So now all you need is to work out.

Um

I already do.

I guess Oss and I are the only ones who like it.

I've been playing it daily since the end of July.
I like it, don't get to play it though, the servers aren't as solid as they should be.
Where I can play other MMOs and RTS games online, unless my connection is at 100% I can't play Warframe.
Which is a pity, because I want to play it.

Oh.

Well i play on consoles and I havrnt had any issues

I actually really like the button layout customisation. Ive made a killer layout based on Bumper jumper from Halo, and once update 17 rolls around Ill be good to go eith the new Parkour system.

Its a small thing but I really appreciate it.
You can make custom layouts? I never knew.
If I ever get back into the game I'll be sure to make one, I find the default makes crouching and moving awkward for some reason.

Yeah, theres a butt load of options available.

Theres an option for field of view, which zooms in or out of your character. A great option to have in a third person shooter, especially for frames like Rhino or Oberon, that take up a lot of the screen.

That's the real issue.
Tell that to Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, and any other yearly releases as well.

Well, I mean

I do.

Let me just take Luciana out of this quote.

lol NHL in comparison to almost every other sports franchise is probably the worst.
It's hockey, Madden or UFC.

Howeverrrrrrrr it's the only "good" hockey video game and it's a blast to play with friends so whatcha gonna do?

Buy it used?

Buying it new only tells EA that you support this shit, to be honest. Not tryna get preachy but that side of me comes out a lot more nowadays >.>

Let's be honest though guys, there is only so much a sports game can do to make new things in terms of gameplay. When you pretty much nail the gameplay to any given series, you can't REALLY do much else aside from twerks and a few other additional things.

That's not to say some games don't have fundamental flaws (Madden) and need an overhaul (if it's still getting compared to 2K5, a game made over a decade ago, something is wrong), but the games that DO nail it (such as MLB The Show) really can't do much more than sell the authenticity of their product.
For the past year (or two) it feels like MLB The Show has been refining the experience to get it to near authentic levels and to be honest they're pretty damn close.
It's just missing that unpredictability, pacing, and a couple details to fully hit max potential. As of now though, I would say it's the best sports franchise out there imo.

From what I hear The Show is easily the best out of the sports games, so I can agree with you on that.

Haha I just remembered that time we stayed at your house and you were playing NHL14 in like 480p lmao 😂😂

I guess no one else likes Warframe  as much as Oss and I.

This guy in MGS had one before it was cool.

Kojima has a habit of reusing ideas in his future games.

Literally all 3 of the first games are the exact same premise.
