Gaming / Re: Last day to get Destiny 2 for free on PC

I got this because I never really pass up on free games, but you still have to spend like 80 bucks to play the full thing, so I'll probably never play it.

forsaken is only 40 dollars and now includes the first two expansions from year 1.

Forsaken is $40. Well worth it too I think. I could be wrong on this but I think they lifted the restrictions on it awhile back. You don't have to buy the previous 2 smaller ones to play Forsaken. I think.

they come with forsaken now.

tolerating intolerance leads to intolerance of tolerance
It's not tolerating it. There are many ways to combat racism/sexism/bigotry, and the best one is social ostracization or being unable to find a job because no one wants to associate with you. Going and inciting violence against them isn't only immoral, it makes them look like the oppressed victims and makes them dig in their heels more.

i was just posting absentmindedly, not necessarily in response to you

joey badass and vince staples are really good right now if you want more modern hip hop, desty

Collar, SHOT CALLER

but yeah I already know of them. I know of all the names you posted too and I was gonna post them but you had already done so. I don't like Tupac as much as many others and my favourite old skool rapper is prolly biggie smalls

Biggie was a master of lyricism and rhythm. To this day I don't think there's another MC with the breath control of Biggie Smalls. His lyrics were also full of double entedres and depth, albeit somewhat more surface level in terms of content in comparison to Pac's social commentary and personal struggle. You can take most of Biggie's lyrics and you can just feel his voice speak them.

Hail Mary f her, I never knew her, I’d probably screw her and dump her in the sewer

I do prefer Tupac though. He was a master of flow which is the most important aspect to rapping, imo. Not a lyricist on the level of Nas or Biggie, but the content of his music, his persona, his influence... if you forced me to choose I would probably say he is the greatest of all time. Tupac wasn't just cut from a different cloth, he was cut from a different fabric.

Serious / Re: Voting: a civic right, or a civic duty?
« on: November 08, 2018, 11:32:40 AM »
i don't like to think of voting as a civic duty, because of the idea that you can vote while not knowing shit about politics

the civic duty should be to study and stay informed about your area's political issues (or any issues whatsoever) and the candidates who want to solve them, and then maybe vote once you feel 100% confident

well that is a separate conversation imo and is more specific to your country where (and I just found this out not too long ago) you guys don't teach civics in high school, which absolutely boggles my mind.

i also don't blame some people in your country for not feeling capable of understanding politics given how shitty your news outlets are. CNN might not be Fox News-tier, but they're fucking horrible in their own right. watching the election tuesday night, i can't tell you how many times i wanted to throw wolfe blitzer off a cliff in a wheelchair.

also i find the "i don't know enough" excuse to be kind of thinly veiled for laziness. if you force people into a booth they'll vote, and if they're truly uninformed then they'll just void their vote.

I believe it is the duty of every citizen to participate in their democracy, and I find it shameful that a good portion of the eligible voter population simply can't be bothered. This is true for the 3 most prominent countries frequented on Sep7agon (~45% didn't show up for the 2016 United States Federal Election, ~40% didn't show up in 2015 for the Canadian Federal Election, ~30% of eligible voters didn't turn up for the Brexit decision in 2016).

things like this provide a really good insight into how pathetic human beings really are, particularly men

women are straight-up hornier than men, though. to a considerable degree, too.

drake has no good albums, only singles. and he only has that because he uses OVO as his own "hit" generating machine, raking in all the money AND fame while leaving his signees out to dry. his discography is as vapid and A.D.D. as the generation he panders to. nothing he's ever done has been profound, creative or original. his songs are all about his money, his success, or his emotional self-pity. occasionally he'll get his mission control ass team of ghostwriters to make a diss song when the time calls for it.

he's also a deadbeat father, fake-ass rich kid pretending to be thug, and a reading-lyrics-from-his-blackberry-during-a-freestyle looney-toon ass motherfucker.

Strictly off influence you gotta give it to Wayne, birdman, Drake, and Nikki. They may not be your favorite but they've definitely changed rap as we know it.

drake has changed rap for the worse, so the only thing i'm giving to him is blame.

nikki and wayne are cool in my books even if i don't really vibe with their stuff. wayne has more influence than the other 2 combined.

Personally I think Kendrick Lamar, Wu Tang, maybe even Wayne should be in most people's top 10.

I agree. There are about 15 rappers that need to be considered for top 10, including wayne, lamar and wu tang.

the most important factors for determining GOAT potential:

- body of work (consistency, creativity, innovation, etc.)
- critical acclaim
- sales
- impact on culture
- longevity

artists who hit all 5 are in the discussion for GOAT, but artists that hit at least 4 are worth mentioning when it comes to essential rap, imo

So Wayne

wayne's in that conversation, imo

he's not my goat though

Eminem, Biggie, Nas, Tupac, Kendrick Lamar, N.W.A., Snoop Dogg, Scarface, MF DOOM, Outkast, Ice Cube, Prodigy, Rakim, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Dr. Dre.
I already posted MF Doom. It was the first name I dropped in the OP

i just said it to round off what i consider to be essential.

Also Drake is hot garbage and needs to be dropped by everyone.
Drake
OH NO NO NO NO
What's wrong with Drake? I haven't heard more than 5 of his songs but I added him as a last minute call 'cause I had to go

beyond the fact that he has a team of fulltime ghost writers and producers, his music is entirely one dimensional.

Nelson and Gillum.

Rick Scott is a snake and I don't want him anywhere near the Senate; and DeSantis is a question-dodging buffoon with less energy than Jeb.

Who’d you vote for

I'm proud of you.
