That must be horrible.
It was.
I haven't felt that bad in so long.

Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:57:04 AM »
Actually tbh I would argue that movie spoilers are worse than game spoilers
because in a games you're supposed to be playing and unless it's set piece you can't spoil gameplay but for mgs an exception was made by me because it's very story driven. 14823
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:54:53 AM »I didn't even want to give Verb the level names since they generally provide a snippet of what the level is about. And I don't even fucking like Halo anymore. Exactly. I'm not particularly invested in Halo but the guy is trying to enjoy his experience. Don't go around saying "Oh man, that level is so long and full of snow and enemies" or other autistic shit. Good to know Verb and I aren't the only ones with aversions to expectations. 14824
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:51:40 AM »in the future, i expect all of you to bitch about future games being spoiled if the rules change on this, not over MGSV only. I already do. I've said it multiple times in Verbatim's Halo thread that people should shut the fuck up about expectations. But yeah, I'll definitely bitch about future games. Just like what Verbatim did. He was fighting the good fight when I went dark, even though he has no investment in MGS. 14825
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:47:36 AM »soooo.... just because CoD is CoD, people can say the spoilers for it and people are gonna be ok with that? No. Try reading. I said I would back the argument that we need to enforce these rules for every game. I only said that CoD is far less story driven than MGS, and thus less spoiler-heavy. Quote but if its a game like mgs, oh, its the second coming of christ. Yup. 14826
Gaming / Re: "Gatsby sent us to hell, but we're going even deeper." | 2 Days Remain« on: August 30, 2015, 01:44:43 AM »That's the worst Well, based on my understanding This spoiler will only potentially spoil things for you if you saw Gatsby's screenshot. Kupo, you're good to look it takes place at the beginning-middle of the game. So I'm not entirely worried about it obviously I still want to beat the shit out of him (Gats) and turn back the clock but i feel like it could've been worse well, as long as my prediction is correct 14827
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:42:02 AM »I appreciate the thought, though. Perhaps in just an advisory capacity, then. Also, what do you prefer I call you? Prime Snake? CIA? 14829
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:40:30 AM »spoiling a game deserves a week ban at least, depending on how many spoilers were given, a fucking month is retarded. if this was a game like, i dont know, call of duty or battlefield, im sure as fuck would expect most of you to say "hurdur no one like those games they dont deserve a ban." because that's different cod games aren't story heavy and thus aren't spoiler heavy this is the last metal gear game by kojima yeah, i kinda want to go in blind and tbh i would champion your argument, too 14830
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:38:49 AM »So all of us agree that the rules need to be applied more consistently. Everyone seems to be "for" increasing the length of punishments, but that varies anywhere from three days to a month. The topic of repeat offenders seems split between continuing the current progression (increasingly long ban times) and a permaban after x amount of bans (no decided number given, other than comparing it to baseball). Prime Snake for mod. 14831
Gaming / Re: "Gatsby sent us to hell, but we're going even deeper." | 2 Days Remain« on: August 30, 2015, 01:37:33 AM »
Potentially, but I doubt it. To be honest, we don't really know. Me meticulously analysing every ounce of trailers gives me a decent indication of what he spoiled, though. Quote I can't fathom anything else that could make everyone this upset... He posted a VERY revealing screenshot that I'm already putting together with every other piece of knowledge I know. VERY revealing. 14832

Verbatim for Gaming
Meta for Serious I don't care for the Flood 14834
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:29:39 AM »
I'd do it but clearly my ideals don't line up with everyone
as long as thread-specific temporary permissions and harsher bans are included i'm good 14835
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:26:18 AM »Naturally, but if you keep breaking any rules beyond three times (any rule) then...strike three you're out!And if you do happen to break the 3 rules we haveIf its consistent, then the end should be permaban. agreed we don't need them on this forum 14836
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:25:53 AM »Spoiler threads are fair game though, as long as the title is labelled as such, because they're intended for spoiler discussion You'd think we wouldn't need to say this though 14837
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:24:11 AM »And if you do happen to break the 3 rules we haveIf its consistent, then the end should be permaban. Anybody that breaks the rules without remorse imo should be permaban'd but that's unrealistic, i know 14838
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:22:54 AM »Layering timeframes for different punishments is a little over-complicated, don't you think? That's why I said "ideally". Quote Ideally, it should be a strict "x days minimum" with punishment length increasing with successive bans. This, of course, all takes place within the time frame of whatever is considered "spoiler free". I guess. I still think there should be a 3 week bubble around release dates where the punishments are more severe. 14839
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:21:22 AM »
And if you do happen to break the 3 rules we have
you deserve a severe punishment. End of story. 14840
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:20:45 AM »I'm not for a stricter ruleset, just a more consistent one, and if you do somehow manage to break the rules, suffer harsher punishment. Exactly this. It's not like you have to carefully craft each post you make as to not break the rules you have to intentionally break them to break them 14841
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:17:43 AM »Like, for how many months after MGS5 is released should spoilers be punishable? 3 months seems reasonable to me. I originally said 3 weeks but maybe that would be for more severe punishments. Ideally, the punishment starts off more severe the closer we are to release date. 14842
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:13:42 AM »t's been brought to light today that we may be understaffed--considering that I wasn't even available to check up on the thread during the day, or else I would have. Were I given thread-specific permissions, it wouldn't have happened. You wouldn't need more staff. Like, even an option to spoiler any comment temporarily until a mod looks over it would be better than nothing. Jesus I've fixed this problem in 7 different ways but for some reason the staff doesn't want to accept it. Granted, I wasn't around to see this unfold, so I don't know who else was online or what I could have done, anyway. Quote especially given the specific circumstances surrounding MGS V (it's definitely not a typical game release). This is exactly my point. There's never going to be another Metal Gear game. Ever. The series I love so dearly is coming to an end. I'm never going to experience another Kojima Metal Gear game again. And it's ruined for me. Quote And finally, in regards to Gatsby's (lack of a) punishment, I'd think that the backlash he's gotten may suffice. Just don't hold a grudge for too long, because we're human and we all make mistakes, if I can even call it that >.> He's shown no remorse at all. There's no reason for me to forgive him. 14843
Gaming / Re: "Gatsby sent us to hell, but we're going even deeper." | 2 Days Remain« on: August 30, 2015, 01:07:28 AM »
PS4 has pre-load. I was thinking about it
but then I realised I wouldn't be able to play until 3AM anyways so I reckon it'd be better to get a full night's rest and then pick up my game at 9AM. 14844
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:06:16 AM »If nothing is going to be done about the spoiler incident then there is something wrong here. It can be easily fixed, but I don't understand why it isn't being fixed. Hell, I would settle for a friggin lite-ban for accidental and three days for a malicious. Yes, Korra. 14845
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:05:57 AM »Depends on each individual case. Reported twice. Nothing happened. 14846
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:05:37 AM »I'd agree with that, but anything over a week for any type of spoiler is far too long. Telling someone to fuck off or kill themselves in a non-banter way should be higher than spoiling a game. Luckily, this case happens to kill both those birds with one stone. 14847
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:03:52 AM »Depends on each individual case. I received no assist in my thread, despite repeatedly being told to kill myself. I explained multiple times in that thread, that I've been suicidal for years. 14848
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:02:48 AM »If you can call out members, spam, and harass people without even getting a three day ban, spoiling a shitty game franchise shouldn't garner a month long ban. That's ridiculous. As far as I'm concerned, breaking all the rules need more severe punishments. Ooh, you don't get to go on Sep7agon for a few days. Maybe you'll shine your shoes with the extra time. 14849
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 01:00:37 AM »does that HONESTLY impact your impression of the game? Um yeah it does. But really, i just said that I don't want bans for THOSE spoilers. Fucking read. 14850
Septagon / Re: Regarding Spoilers« on: August 30, 2015, 12:59:41 AM »The staff does attempt to assist people with mental health problems. We have in the past, and if talked to, we will in the future. Define assist. |
