Too easy for reflex mode? It's more difficult without it. Actually, it's only difficult without it.

I was quoting you.

But I honestly don't have the energy to argue this. I've been awake for... quite some time.

Does anyone know how to get the MGS3 sneaking suit?

I know it's in the game...

You just research it after getting a bit further in the game I believe. Make sure you're recruiting the soldiers for that field as well and building the struts for em. I use it ALL the time.

Are you sure you're not talking about the regular sneaking suit? I have that one maxed out.

Also

that bandana is a different bandana than the one I'm using

it's most likely the infinity bandana

Sounds like a serious crutch that's for people who want the story but are bad at games.

Spoiler
Except there's virtually no story here.

So. . .

So anyway how do you think Solid Snake would have fared if he had to face Skulls during his infiltration of Outer Heaven?

Considering he's a better soldier than Big Boss, I reckon he'd do just fine.

Which one?
Minor Spoilers regarding the gameplay, not story.
Quiet. Feels a lot like what The End and Sniper Wolf were trying to be.

Seriously, try playing that mission on extreme and you'll see what I mean. It's fucking awesome, and potentially the best boss battle in the series.

The only one, I had trouble with was Volgin. But then I was like, duh, water towers lol. Also, forgot he absorbed stuff. Shot a rocket at him, and was like oh shit![/spoiler]

Spoiler
Yeah, my problem with that fight was the timing.

What you're telling me is that you think you're judgement is better than Kojima's?

No, that's what you took out of my post. I never said anything of the sort.

>with MGSV Kojima had 5+ year development period, plus 25 years of experience behind that making these kind of games
>has been tweaking the game for months on end, even going so far as to saying that he doesn't want to play MGSV after release because it would be too difficult because he'll want to tweak some more
>includes reflex mode
>"the game is too easy for reflex mode"

Let's not pretend you didn't mean that.

(I have no idea what it even is)

Whenever you get caught by a guard, everything around you slows down. You can then kill them before they can alert anything else.

It's not a bad idea in theory, but it gives you five full seconds where they're completely immobile and defenseless and you can pick them off with about as much effort as scratching your ass. Stealth becomes irrelevant for most of the game because nobody can hurt you or call in backup.

And since MGS5 focuses more on gameplay than story, it's a damned good thing this can be turned off, because everything else is flawless. (Or so I heard. I only played Ground Zeroes, but TPP is the same thing with more stuff so I assume it's even better.)

It's not inherently better to turn it off, though.

What you're telling me is that you think you're judgement is better than Kojima's? Well, I don't, that's why I leave it on.

If Kojima said "the game is meant to be played with it off" then I would play with it off. But the game wasn't designed like that.

In fact, there are specific missions that are tailored to not using it. Which is where I say okay.

Nuke? I want one!, You can tell me about Chapter 2, no huge spoilers though. And yeah, let me know if you like what you find behind that door.

Spoiler
Yeah, at the end of the game you can choose to either create a Nuke and risk having it stolen, or devote your entire crew to getting rid of them. It's pretty cool and should make for interesting FOB missions.

Chapter 2 introduces harder versions of some older missions, but also shows us brand new missions as well. In total, there's probably like 12 missions after Chapter 1 concludes.

As for what's behind the door, I've got to get some more photos from the old days. I just don't know where to get them.

And I like how they rendered Ground Zeroes a flashback, and that's why the memory was so fucked.

I'll have a better opinion on it soon, I just experienced it afterall.
No I mean, did you find something you were looking for? I don't want to spoil it for you. I can just give a name if you want.

Spoiler
Paz? Yeah.
Spoiler
Making sure. I haven't seen it yet, so I'll look into it. Do they offer an explanation. No one survives a vagina bomb.

Spoiler
Oh, I'm sorry. I was under the impression you already knew what happens in there.

Damn, I feel like an idiot.

Yeah, the explanation isn't explicitly stated. Come to me when you want to know, I have the answer.

Does anyone else use R1 to quickly turn around while prone? It's so useful. Also tactically rolling all the way across the airport runway and not getting seen is amazing.

OMG, yes.

I really do feel like a legendary hero in this game.

Has anyone gone to Camp Omega?

I haven't. Looking into it.

It makes me wonder how much different Chapter 2 is. I could be wrong, but I think Chapter 2 is just replaying all the missions again, but it will be harder, with stuff like no reflex, less health, and stuff like that.

I'll tell you if you want.

Also, I think I found the Medical Platform door you were talking about, I just can't open it for some reason. It's on the second floor, and a beeping noise occurs when I approach it.

Quote
By the way, do you know if FOBs are open? I don't think I've had a chance to make one yet, unless I'm missing something. I know MGO is delayed, but I thought FOBs would be out on launch.

Servers are fucked ATM, but the feature only occurs when in online mode.

I'm glad

I've been given enough time to work on my nuke
, so it's all good that the servers are down for now.

Here's a hint. There's only one open door on your MB(as far as I know) It's on the Medical Platform.

Reponse
There's one on the R&D platform as well, but I'll check it out.

Go in there, and you'll find one thing on that list you missed.

Thanks for not spoiling it for me. :)

Forgot about Omega, that scene where they dumped water on a prisoner and hit and shot him looked like it was there.

Response
It was there. And Kojima said we could return to Camp Omega in The Phantom Pain, so...

evidently there's a lot of stuff we haven't picked up on. That's why I'm pushing for all side missions/main mission completion. There might be something else.

Quote
Also, I thought you beat the game? I'm confused. Did it just end, or did you get the "true" ending where the Phantom thing is explained?

This is the ending I got after I beat all
number of missions
50
missions.

Ending Spoilers
You replay the Prologue mission pretty much exactly until you crash the car, at which point you see what happened to Ishmael when you were unconscious. Turns out, that he was Big Boss the whole time, and you are his Phantom -- the medic from Ground Zeroes [I fucking KNEW it, too. Told all my mates there was something fishy about that.] Mental manipulation makes you think you are Big Boss, and you'll work with Miller while Big Boss works on Zanzibarland, essentially.

The only thing that explains is the inconsistency between MG1 and MG2, which I would hardly call "the biggest mystery of Metal Gear" as the game makes you think.

Quote
Spoiler
Apparently Eli's story isn't tied up at the end either. (Liquid) Just saw a video, skimmed through it. On the CE, there's a video showing concept art and some cutscenes that were cut. Episode 51. Shame it didn't make it.

Response
Eli, Psycho Mantis and the Man on Fire reveals were some of the biggest missed opportunities in the game, IMO. Eli especially was a wasted character, and the end scene in Mission 51 doesn't justify nor fix any of the problems already here.

I wish we could've seen more interaction between Eli and BB, and see some of that shit that made Liquid hate him so much.

" Love!? It's hate!! He always told me I was inferior and now I'll have my revenge!!"

Yeah, Eli is a completely wasted character.

Not to mention Sahelanthropus is left completely hanging.

Okay, Snake. I need confirmation.

The cutscene where Quiet is tortured. Is that in-game? The cutscene showing the child soldiers in training by the tanks, is that in-game? I just rescued them, so I was wondering.

Answer to your question
I cannot say for sure that those scenes are completely absent, as I'm not 100% done the game.

However, I can say I haven't come across them, and a few other scenes as well. I'll specify which ones in the next spoiler sections.
Spoiler
I haven't seen
-the scene where big boss walks around a bunch of dead bodies in Africa, leans down and screams (e3 2014, the one where he's engulfed in blood and flaemes)
-the scene where BB makes his subordinate stab him
-haven't been back to ground zeroes's camp omega yet
-the scene where it says "quiet: a sniper deprived of her words" in the 2013 E3 trailer (though I may have missed this, as apparently quiet's story has an ending
-the scene where quiet goes apeshit on Diamond Dogs
-the scene where big boss picks up a bloody quiet
-paz's appearance at all
-quiet lighting big boss's cigar
actual spoiler
that would actually go against the game's story, as Venom snake doesn't smoke real cigars
-big boss's horn doesn't grow at all

I don't know. Clearly I either missed a lot or they cut a lot.

I hope I just missed that stuff.

response to your spoiler
It really doesn't ramp up later on?

Response to your response to my spoiler
Unfortunately, no. Unless you play the extra ops that purposefully make the game harder, (like Naked, Extreme, Perfect stealth, etc.) it's pretty fucking easy.

Also, unless there's skulls. They ramp up the difficulty sometimes.

Rescuing Miller was disappointingly easy. Actually, all of the missions I've been doing are pretty easy, especially in comparison to Ground Zeroes.

Expectation Spoilers
Unfortunately, that's the way it is all the way through.

The only times it gets difficult is against some of the harder enemies, but that's not stealth.

If you want to make it harder, try going in naked. No weapons or equipment, all OSP. I just tried one of the missions like that and fuck is it tough.

Also take off reflex mode.
