Can your guide tell me the requirements for Raiden's costume?

Also, yeah I just completed that side quest.
Also, have you guys been through the door in the medical platform? There's a... surprise. Only just found out by looking at my guide

So,
Spoiler
Venom Snake was really silent and didn't really react to any major shit because he wasn't actually Big Boss? The real Big Boss would have been freaked as fuck by seeing Volgin again

Spoiler
Why would he? Venom Snake never met Volgin. He probably knew who Volgin was but wouldn't have any reason to associate the Man on Fire with him, nor would he particularly care even when he found out.

Spoiler
Presumably the real Big Boss would've reacted the same was as the phantom.

BB's lack of emotion was intentional, regardless of whether he's the real deal or not.

Spoiler
But that's the intention. The player didn't see the Medic's face because the player was the Medic. You were encouraged to put in your own name and birthday when prompted because you are who Venom Snake used to be. It isn't like Raiden where he's just a representation of the player, Venom Snake is the player.
Spoiler
I know. But it wasn't executed nearly as well as you're trying to make it sound.

Grandiose statements like "You are Big Boss. You are killed by Solid Snake." when the game doesn't effectively demonstrate that is kind off... odd.

Spoiler
What was it like playing as yourself, Snake?

Spoiler
Considering there's like 2 hair options that all suck (I have long hair and wanted to make my guy look like Old Snake), I don't really enjoy it that much.

I actually love the idea of there being a Phantom Big Boss and that Phantom being us. It was just so poorly executed.

Spoiler
Also, you are Venom Snake. Which means you are the final boss of Metal Gear and you got killed by Solid Snake.

Spoiler
No, we didn't.

Don't do that. Don't be an apologetic for the ending.

Spoiler
Just "finished" it. Beat Mission 31. Credits rolled. Then it showed Chapter 2, with Quiet Torture scenes and stuff. Anyone confirm that there's actually new story and cutscenes? Because so far, the 2 new missions I have are repeats with modifiers on.

Spoiler
Yes, there's about 12 more story missions.

Chapter 2 is much better than the first, IMO. Not good, but better.
I was a bit confused as to why they'd roll credits when the story isn't over.

They role the credits after every mission lol

So like.. what the fuck does this ending mean for the series?

Nothing, really. It's done.

Spoiler
The Big Boss you face at the end of MG1 is the phantom, while the one on your codec in MG1 is the real Big Boss from Snake Eater/Peace Walker.

The Big Boss you face in Zanzibarland in MG2 is the real one, and he becomes the one you see in MGS4.

I wouldn't call it "the biggest mystery in the franchise" but whatever.

Spoiler
Technically speaking he was there all along, and not just as Ishmael. Venom Snake had Big Boss' physical attributes and his skills, he had Boss' memories artificially implanted, and he was hypnotized into having the same thought patterns. A perfect copy so flawless that even he didn't know he was somebody else. So, really, he was as much Big Boss as Big Boss was Big Boss.
Spoiler
I know. And I like the concept of "Venom Snake". It was just poorly executed.

On that note, he's also what Raiden what supposed to be but wasn't.

How do you mean.

I'm so upset that Mission 51 was cut, it would have provided such a good ending. But I'm also trying to avoid doing Mission 50, soooooo

It wouldn't have provided a "good" ending, but it would've been better than what we have.
Pretty much what I mean, plus it could have been a cool enough mission

I take it you've beaten the main story?

Really? Huh, I guess seeing a bunch of Snakes confuses a person, would you like to give me your reasons for your dislike of Twin Snakes?

I won't get into it too much, but just consider it to be the inferior version of those events.

Voice acting was of lesser quality
animation was poor
mgs2 engine doesn't work well with the things MGS1 did (ruined Revolver Ocelot's boss battle)
acting and dialogue were complete shit (and a few voice actors changed here and there for no good reason)
