Spoiler Yeah, and I'm extremely disappointed we didn't get to witness that. The reason he was at Zanzibarland: After the events of Peace Walker, when Big Boss finally took his rightful name, he realised The Boss had betrayed him. After that, he didn't care about pursuing her vision -- he cared about a world where soldiers believed in what they were fighting for. Essentially, MSF was meant to be the peace-keeping organisation to pursue her vision, Diamond Dogs, Outer Heaven and Zanzibarland were meant to engulf the planet in never-ending war, and contradict her vision. That's something the games never stressed enough. You have to look between the lines and stuff. 14613

Spoiler MGS4 already established that, though. I hate how MGSV paints Big Boss as the "good guy", though. He's not. Peace Walker was supposed to establish that, after he felt like The Boss betrayed him. And MGSV was supposed to show us his fall from grace as a good guy. 14614

Here's how I like to think things went down: Spoiler The year is sometime between 1985~1994. Diamond Dogs's Mother Base has been known as "Outer Heaven" since the late 1980's. Venom Snake, or "Big Boss" as the world knows him, has been mostly going slowly crazy as the effects of his psychosis take their toll. The real Big Boss is ready to come out of hiding. He sends Ahab a tape, labeled "From The Man Who Sold The World", explaining everything from the plane crash in 1974 until now. Venom Snake, a tortured man already on the brink of insanity, finally snaps as he realises his whole life was a lie. What was once an attempt to create an Army without a Nation is now an all-out sprint to Global warfare. Big Boss, who already knew about Outer Heaven's nuclear capabilities, informs Ahab that if he doesn't remove the nuke, he'll regret it (which is why Operation Intrude N313 is on the back of the cassette -- it's meant to be a deterrence. This sparks the event known as the Outer Heaven Uprising (Metal Gear 1). Big Boss sends his own son, Solid Snake, into the battlefield knowing full-well what he's up against. He wins, and Big Boss goes onto form Zanzibarland with Gray Fox. 14616

Gaming / Re: Welcome back, Boss. | MGSV Discussion Thread« on: September 04, 2015, 09:21:26 PM »I'm just saying there's no reason to make the distinction between the Snakes from a gameplay perspective. Oh. 14618
Gaming / Re: Welcome back, Boss. | MGSV Discussion Thread« on: September 04, 2015, 09:17:46 PM »Plot immortality aside, he makes the other Snakes look like they're made of tissue paper. I mean sure but all the other Snakes have had their fair share of shit thrown their way. Liquid was the superior clone so it makes sense, I'm just saying there's no reason to make the distinction between the Snakes from a gameplay perspective. I would welcome the chance to play as Liquid. Honestly I've been thinking about it and I think a lot of hardcore MGS fans could come up with a better plot than MGSV. I don't necessarily think it would be too hard for Konami to take the KojiPro team, add in the guy who wrote the Peace Walker cassette tapes for the script/writing, and have someone else come up with the plot for the game. I really think they could do a lot with what Kojima has done, and maybe treat it with a little more respect than MGSV got. My biggest fear is that Konami doesn't do anything but mobile and pachinko machines with the IP. That's got me so worried. Plus I get the feelings there's going to be a lot of DLC for this game. 14619
Gaming / Re: Welcome back, Boss. | MGSV Discussion Thread« on: September 04, 2015, 09:07:56 PM »I want a game from Liquid's point of view. I guess it wouldn't work, though, given Liquid is indestructible and nobody wants to play a game they can't lose. Just as indestructable as the other Snakes as well. I mean really, everyone is invincible until they die. 14620

Speaking of "new Kojima"
if they could make another game like TPP, with a better story following the events of this game, or even Spoiler following what happened to Jack Essentially, I want MGSV's gameplay MGS4's story-length MGS3's story quality MGS1's acting MGS2's polish just get the guy who wrote PO and someone who worked very closely with Kojima to build upon that foundation 14621

Gaming / Re: Welcome back, Boss. | MGSV Discussion Thread« on: September 04, 2015, 08:10:01 PM »On Eli Response Indeed. Plotmaster also pointed out that the Genome Soldier's genetics were all wonky in MGS1 because they used Ahab's DNA instead of Big Boss's to create those soldiers. That's why Liquid needed the body of Big Boss in MGS1. An astute observation, I must say. Quote On Ocelot Response An interesting point. I don't see why Ocelot would even need to forget that Ahab isn't Big Boss. The timeline seems to imply that Ahab learned of the truth during the Outer Heaven Uprising. Quote On Strangelove Response I think it was meant to imply that Hal has Strangelove's genes, but The Boss's memes. Strangelove had a romantic relationship with Joy so it makes sense that she would instill a lot of her values into her son. Quote On Parasites Spoiler How do they explain the Cobra Unit? Quote On the Third Child Response Probably. 14624

I have the original version. Quote That means the only canon game I don't have is Peace Walker, GZ, and PP. Fortunately all of those are on the 360 PS3, which I assume you have...? PW is $20, GZ is probably the same (buy it used for cheaper) and TPP is obviously 60. 14626

Yeah, I have that one already. 'Complete all missions (except those on high difficulty levels) with an S-Rank.' What does that mean, though? All of the original 30 missions? Or all 50 minus the rehashed missions? 14635

It says for most players, choosing to develop a nuke will instantly, or put you very close to Demon Snake. Hmm, interesting. I was already planning on making one, but this adds a little more incentive. If there's a Demon Snake, is there an... Angel Snake? Something for getting maximum heroism? 14636

The animal platform You need to be in your ACC, and click "Return to Motherbase." From there, you will be shown a screen with all your platforms. In the top right, you'll see "Press Triangle to visit Animals Platform." I think you need to speak with Miller about that first, though. It's a conversation that appears after you've captured a set amount of wildlife. He'll tell you that the NGOs are paying for the entire thing because they don't have enough room to house all the animals you've collected. Spoiler Nuke: >iDroid >Mother Base >Resources >Nuclear Weapon 14639
