I assume the reason he keeps saying 'Boss' is
Spoiler
to remind Venom Snake that he's Big Boss to keep him from breaking through the hypnosis.

No, it's just awkward dialogue.

Miller interrupts him after the second "Boss" but you'll see what I mean.

Like, he literally says "Boss" the exact same way within 15 seconds of each other.

I'd be happy if this is true.

I really need to go back to MGSV and finish it up.

Hopefully "Peace" confirmed.

I mean, the console versions have like 8 more gigabytes of data than the PC version... which makes sense. I don't think you can datamine a console version disc.

He should get his R&D unit to develop a parasite strain that triggers activation upon the Words of Salat.

...

Shit that'd actually be a really effective method.

I preferred his original voice versus the one that he uses near the end.

Also,

"Keep moving, Boss.

You can't let 'em catch you, Boss.

Come on, Boss!"

ugh, hate that dialogue in the VOICES mission.

It's not that he was bad, per say, but he was the weakest one, IMO.

His voice changes from beginning to end. Go, look. Compare Anything pre-2014 that Ocelot says to the dialogue in the E3 2015 trailer (you could look in the game's cutscenes but you don't have the game). The rough, almost southern accent he has is replaced with what sounds like a teenage Joel from TLOU.

I have no intention of having kids, but I can see my spouse convincing me to adopt. If that happens, I won't even celebrate Christmas, so...

Lol, yeah that line is pretty stupid.

I think everyone except Troy Baker did an astounding job. What little bits of Kiefer we get are spot-on, Atkin was PHENOMENAL as Miller, obviously Horan, even Randolf brought his A-game.

James Horan should have a phone service where people can hear him make grandiose speeches in his smooth Skull Face voice.

yus

i saw a video of him doing random quotes and it was so awesome

He could say anything - literally anything - and it would sound amazing. Even if he read Otacon's lines in MGS, it'd still sound great.

His delivery makes the dialogue work. Even the "WHOOOOO?" thing.

The only time I'd smoke cigarettes is if I was ever gifted with a fantastic Solid Snake sneaking suit. I'd totally comitt to the roll.

When discussing the content of the extended edition for Watchmen:

"Yeah man, it's like, the same movie, but two of them, and they both have completely different content."

I'm just glad it's not the overused memes "Kept you waiting, huh?", "you're pretty good", and "age hasn't slowed you down one bit".

Honestly I hear them so much that at this point it's just starting to get annoying rather than cool.

I agree. I always thought people's use of "Kept you waiting, huh?" was pretty cringey, tbh.

Mixtaping is a lost art form. You have to create crescendos of emotions with your song choices.

I'm loving this.

New "Motherbase Mix":

  • Blue Monday - New Order
  • Solid - Ashford & Simpson
  • Smalltown Boy - Bronski Beat
  • Only Time Will Tell - Asia
  • Dancing in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen
  • Union of the Snake - Duran Duran
  • Maneater - Daryl Hall & John Oates
  • Diamond Dogs - David Bowie
  • The Man Who Sold The World - Midge Ure
  • Africa - Toto
  • Nuclear - Mike Oldfield
  • Tarzan Boy - Baltimora
  • Dancing With Tears In My Eyes - Ultravox
  • How Soon Is Now - The Smiths
  • Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
  • Wake Me Up - Wham!
  • Too Shy - Kajagoogoo
  • I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight - Cutting Crew

Only 18 songs on any given CD.

I tried to make esoteric references with my song choices.

It's a good game tho
you won't be able to play the inferior n64 version on ps4

well it makes more sense to say "Spider-man 64" rather than Spider-man. It's more specific

still, the N64 version has these charming little comic book cutscenes that work really well
It's called Spider-man 2000 for a reason.

The N64 version also has cut dialogue in cutscenes

I've actually never heard it called "Spider-man 2000" tbh

but i didn't know about the dialogue

Indeed.

It's a less good version of MGS2, IMO. Still fun though.

I recommend at least 1 playthrough for every gamer.
