I've been saying for awhile that the fault with MGSV isn't Konami, it's Kojima. The man had several years to create the game. The Fox Engine makes game development the most user friendly and efficient process it's ever been. You're telling me, that with $80M, 5+ years, and the most powerful engine on the market, you can't tell a story that rivals a PSP game from almost 6 years ago? Not even talking strictly dialogue, simply thematic and narrative creativity.
Kojima is incapable of delegation and prioritisation. I could've made a better game than he did with those circumstances. And this is coming from the biggest "fan boy" you'll ever meet. 13293

At least you didn't get buttblasted like most people do when you show them how shit the game is. 13294

I just played Rising for the first time right nefore TPP released. I loved it. Jetstream Sam is now one of my favourite characters (top 5.) 1. Ocelot 2. Liquid Snake 3. Solid Snake 4. Jetstream Sam 5. Big Boss 13295

I can'r remember it very wellI thought they were more secure than that?I said it onece, I'll say it again; How did he just pop into boss's frequency like that? I know that the guy (forget his name) in MGS2 prompts you to use nanomachines instead of vocal communication. And if IRC all the FOXHOUND members have nanomachines, which explains how Liquid is able to impersonate Miller. 13296

I don't think so because the codec works with the nanomachines, I think. Hence the small vibrations in the ear and such. I dunno. I'd have to look into it more. But a small retcon could fix it all. 13297
Gaming / Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Discussion Thread« on: September 30, 2015, 09:10:26 PM »What's so bad about mgs4? This. Additionally, what's there isn't executed very well. I could forgive retcons and fan service if it goes somewhere interesting with it as a result. But it doesn't. 13298

It's kind of hard to explain everything but GZ/TPP without spoiling either.
I'll give it a shot once I get my internet back, though. 13302

Gaming / Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Discussion Thread« on: September 30, 2015, 03:43:15 PM »You guys mentioned the Operation Intrude tape as a "deterrent" for Snake to tell Venom to stop. But I sensed none of that after seeing that cutscene and listening to the Truth tapes. And on Wiki it mentioned none of that either, but rather he was basically forced to order the hit once the US Government found nukes on board. It's simply speculation, albeit, compelling speculation. Before Venom Snake punches the mirror, it shows the Diamond Dogs logo in the reflection on the wall. Venom flips the tape, showing the "Operation Intrude N313" writing om the back. A timelapse occurs as he flips the tape, jumping forward to 1995 (Metal Gear 1). The evidence for this is that, when Snake goes to punch the mirror, the Diamond Dogs logo in the reflection has changed to Outer Heaven. My best guess is that Big Boss asked Venom Snake to do what the US Government asked The Boss to do in '64 - sacrifice herself for "the mission". The mission being, Big Boss's legacy and the nation of soldiers. If anyone found out that "Big Boss" was in charge of an insurrection aginst the Patriots, that would raise some hard questions for the real Big Boss who was in charge of FOX-HOUND at the time. Outer Heaven wasn't ready, and with Solid Snake's success virtually inevitable, he asks Venom to sacrifice himself. Venom rejects this idea, and starts to give Solid false information (notice how he uses a different frequency in MG1 once he begins to do this?) Eventually, Snake reveals himself to Solid as "Big Boss", forcing Ishmael to accelerate his plans for a Nation of Soldiers whilst making it more difficult (which is what I attribute Solid's victory in '99 to). 13305
