I'm not overreacting Eh, could just be confirmation bias after your reaction to my comments about Ultron but that isn't relevant. if pointing out where you're missing important details that I think should be mentioned is overreacting, idk how to help you mate. I don't think they're worth mentioning because those important details don't have anything to do with why Trudeau mention GG.

Yeah, that was just Quebec and it would never go anywhere.
Fuck, the government was in favour of a niqab ban just less than a week ago. If that doesnt say anti-religious freedom, I don't know what does.

Seeing as they were considering a blasphemy law, yeah, I'd see them going the Australia route. They were never considering that.

I don't know what stance Canada would take on said things. Just wag their finger and say "it's wrong!"? Or pull an Australia and ban everything left and right? I'm not quite sure how this new government will react, or even, how they could... For one, how do you stop these things, which are mostly American, from not happening? We don't have jurisdiction on yer lands.

Considering how many people have never heard of Gamergate (because EVERYTHING needs a "gate" at the end of it. Thanks american media) until it was over, I'd say it never was.
Okay...

Regardless, Trudeau's statement was in reference to the death threats, raids and general harassment of Sarkeesian and co., who are the face of the "feminism in gaming" movement. I was simply providing context for those two. No need to overreact.

People felt sympathetic for Zoe Quinn in Gamergate? Didn't she have sex with game reviewers or something? She's stupid.
Guess so. Personally I don't know much about her because by the time I became a feminist it was kind of... not important.

Did you really link the wikipedia page, which is locked and easily the most one-sided piece of work that makes plenty of politicians' statements demonizing their opponents look silly? Uh, yeah. I did. Considering that it provided the most basic understanding of the fiasco. I mean, I didn't substantiate my opinion based on Wikipedia. I mean, just shit, any retard that thinks critically could tell that source is garbage. How is it garbage if it explains the situation? Obviously Sandtrap and Endor don't know much about it. Wikipedia provided a basic understanding of the issue. Sue me, christ.

Why would I go to different countries when I live in the greatest one ever made?
But you don't live in America.
I know.

That's a dumb critique, tbh
"Man, I hate it when 'X' Youtuber, who is know for making 'Y' videos, makes 'Y' videos."
People had this critique with BBDobbins and I was like... what a stupid thing to say.

Yeah, I mean, I stopped following Gamergate, like, many months ago, and I'm not even sure if it's necessarily relevant anymore, but I mean... Being opposed to the whole shitshow is a pretty good stance to me. I think he was using it more to show what kinds of things he was against. “The things we see online, whether it is issues like gamergate or video games misogyny in popular culture, it is something that we need to stand clearly against.”

After all this time I hear gamergate and I still don't know what that whole thing is. Hope this helps. The Gamergate controversy began in August 2014 and concerns sexism and progressivism in video game culture. It is most notable for harassment against several feminists in the video game industry, including game developers Zoë Quinn and Brianna Wu, and cultural critic Anita Sarkeesian. The campaign of harassment was coordinated in IRC channels and online forums such as Reddit, 4chan, and 8chan by an anonymous and amorphous group that ultimately came to be represented by the Twitter hashtag #Gamergate. The harassment included doxing, threats of rape, and death threats as well as being related to a mass shooting threat in protest of an invited speech featuring Sarkeesian. Gamergate has been described as a manifestation of a culture war over gaming culture diversification, artistic recognition, social criticism of video games, and the gamer social identity. Some of the people using the Gamergate hashtag allege collusion among feminists, progressives, journalists and social critics, which they believe is the cause of increasing social criticism in video game reviews. Some hashtag users have said the goal for their actions is to improve the ethical standards of video game journalism. These concerns have been widely dismissed by commentators as trivial, based on conspiracy theories, unfounded in fact, or unrelated to actual issues of ethics. Users of the hashtag launched email campaigns targeting firms advertising in publications of which they disapproved, asking them to withdraw their advertisements. Essentially, Gamergate was a movement by neckbeards on reddit, 4chan, etc. against people like Sarkeesian who argue that video game culture is often misogynistic.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) had fantastic music.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain had astounding presentation.
Destiny had an amazing art style.

It was Crimson Peak. Now it's probably Spectre then Episode VII. For 2016, Batman V. Superman takes the cake, easily. Especially since it is potentially the most expensive movie ever made.Kind of dumb to make a thread for anticipated movies near the end of the year, though. . .

As if there wasn't already an abundance of reasons to support him.“Yes, Yes. I am a feminist. Proud to be a feminist. My mom raised me to be a feminist. My father raised me, he was a different generation but he raised me to respect and defend everyone’s rights, and I deeply grounded my own identity in that, and I am proud to say that I am a feminist,” he said during a portion of the interview that was not aired. “The things we see online, whether it is issues like gamergate or video games misogyny in popular culture, it is something that we need to stand clearly against.” Trudeau is bae. Honestly, I am so hopeful for Canada's future.

I heard today that the new prime minister was elected on a hair basis because the guy who won had the best hair style. However, I was told this by a crazy old american man, but he showed me the article in the paper. Go America for bringing looks into the elections.
Yeah, no. Not true, lol.

Yeah, I was able to vote in the Provincial elections and voted NDP and was kind of happy. Historically I've always sort of been aligned with the NDP (especially with Layton), but this time around... I dunno. Mulcair seems sharp but a lot of the time I felt like he didn't have a plan for some key economic and environmental issues and simply said "we're different than the other two".
It doesn't help that the Liberals this time around were even further left than the NDP, but I digress.
Hope Trudeau can actually set our country on a great path. I have high-hopes for him. I want us to return to the U.N. as paragons, like we were under Cretien.
Not flunking out of the Kyoto accord when?
I believe he will address that sometime in January. I know he's going to Paris next month with the Premiers for the Climate Change conference. Regardless, I fully expect Trudeau-government to get us back on-track and involved with the KA.
