You're guaranteed two permanent REQs - armour, visors, skins, loadout weapons, assasinations, stances, weapon and vehicle certifications and armour mods are included. I can't get over how dumb this unlock system is. Make alternate skins in REQ packs -- but follow Reach and 4's system of Spartan Rank with a few pieces of armour left to Skill rating/Legendary unlock or something.

You're almost always guaranteed to get at least one piece of armour.
It's the quickest way to get all the armour. Then I must have terrible luck because 2/3's of the Gold packs I've opened haven't given me armour.

It means you're a nerd.
I think it goes Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum, Onyx, Champion.
Once you reach a new tier, there are 4 levels that are decided by how many wins you get. If you're Platinum 4 and you win some more games, you'll be Onyx. You can never go back a tier (for example, Gold -> Silver if you lose), but you can go down ranks (for example, Silver 4 -> Silver 2 if you lose).
Only the top 200 players in the world can be Champion, though.

I get that we were all disappointed in the story but underneath all of that is still a very fun game with loads of replay-ability. It wasn't nearly as shit as MGS4 (even if I commend that game for at least trying with the story...)
