Gaming / Re: So what's with the Link redesign in LoZ Wii U?
« on: December 11, 2015, 02:34:27 PM »
Dunno. I for one am kinda tired of the usual green tunic and cap. They could still bring it back, like this could just be Link's attire early in the game or w/e.

I think having the option would be nice. I can't really say I'm tired of Link getup, considering I've yet to beat an entire Zelda game...

As for his actual physical appearance. There is no "traditional" look. Check out artist renditions of him from the NES, SNES and Game Boy games and compare them to N64 and up. I'd say they went back to the older style a bit.

Well, you know what I meant by "traditional".

i've kinda been actively avoiding any and all information about the new zelda game, but w/e

Oh, sorry. I didn't realise other people did that with games, lol.

I'll try and be more... discreet the next time I make a thread about the next game.

i made an exception here because i'm probably gonna end up seeing him at some point anyway

Well now that you see him, what do you think?

hahahaha

the blue tunic is fly though.

Don't get me wrong -- I actually like the redesign. He looks pretty sick.

Just wondering why the decision was made to drop his traditional look.

no pun intended

Wait -- you didn't know what he looked like before...?

Why does he look more feminine than ever before?

I actually really like it, just wondering why the decision was made.

Its not necessarily an HD remake of the original game, its more of a reboot.

"HD Remake" is so poorly defined in this thread.

Windwaker HD doesn't count because it's just an "HD rerelease"

Ratchet and Clank doesn't count because it's a reboot

Which one is it?

That's the problem. Everyone tries too hard to be realistic nowadays. Like, apparently he writes his sex scenes in grisly detail so that there's no eroticism whatsoever. It's like, what the fuck? Why bother?

It's not really "nowadays" considering the series started in the 90's IIRC, but I agree. I just think it's a bit silly to complain about realism in a fantasy book when it's known for it's realism.

My problem with the series is that Martin is incapable of efficiency. He'll go on and on about a useless character and then kill him after pages of backstory. It's pointless.

I also don't enjoy fiction all that much, but w/e.

Don't forget about Luigi's Mansion

Eventually, maybe. I don't see it happening for awhile, though.

I like my stories to be rooted somewhat in reality. Otherwise, I just couldn't a fuck about anybody or anything that happens. It's boring to me.

Martin is known for his realistic take on fantasy.

My memory card arrived. Just waiting intently on the actual Gamecube.

If it doesn't come in tonight I'll probably just binge play Ocarina this weekend.

I'm not the best, but I was ranked top 30 on Arkham City's combat maps.

I can also beat the 3rd place record for speedrunning Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.

I reckon I had the close to the most amount of time played on TPP when it released (if we discredit those who got it early).

>turn on Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy for the PS2/3
>start new game
>play until you get to free-roam Sandover Village, at which point, go to language settings
>change it to something foreign (I personally enjoy Portuguese)
>go find the sleeping farmer and talk to him (The "Gotta milk those Yakows, gotta milk those Yakows" guy)
>enjoy your 9-year-old sides transcending from this feeble existence into the next realm

I really gotta get me a Wii-U.

11535
Ratchet and Clank also looks quite good.

11536
I hear Windwaker HD was quite good.

Oh, I remember her being better and I thought she was ranked higher on the tier list in Brawl. Guess not.

She's good in Melee

No, she's just better in Melee than she was in SSB. And she's better in Brawl than she was in Melee.

But she's never been "good".

I would at the very least recommend trying the first Metroid Prime if you can.

Well money is a little tight right now and Melee, Windwaker and Sunshine are still $45~, but if I get a good deal I'll definitely pick it up.

Who'da thought.

Samus is shit.

Why is Samus always shit? Damn. Every game she gets the shit end of the stick. I mean, she was better in Brawl, but Brawl was trash...

It's hard to establish a tier list when we're going to get several characters next month.

Yeah, that's what the wiki said. But do we have a make-shift "preliminary" list? For the characters we do have, which are the best?

Spoiler
Please say Falco or Link.

There are straight-edge girls, too.

The single greatest benefit of being straight-edge is that parents fucking love you.

I'd love to know your thoughts on Wind Waker as you go along. Or at least when you beat it.

For sure. I'll probably do update this thread every once in awhile with my thoughts and stuff.

TBlocks just lent me his copy so I don't have to wait for it to come in the mail. I'm just waiting on my GameCube to come it. I'm hoping for it to be there when I get home. I won't have a memory card for a couple of days but I'll just leave my system on until it gets there.
