Pro controller is allowed, however.

What's the general concensus on their quality? Are they a viable option, or is the GC controller still recommended?

Me and him played some online friendlies tonight so if you wanna see some replays of us playing, I can send them (albeit our play was somewhat sloppy due to it being online >_>).

I'll watch them if you send them to me.

From what I'm hearing, the Pro controller isn't half bad.

I don't see myself ever going to those, so that's okay.

When you say "tournament illegal", you mean at actual physical tournament locations, right? Not online tournaments that SSB4 provides?

I think it's actually tournament illegal to use anything else other than the GameCube controller. Not sure. CK can confirm that.

What? Why?

Care to weigh in?

So does everyone here use a GameCube controller too?
Wii U Pro controller

How do you like it? Do you think it's better than the Gamecube controller?

i try to, but i had to use the gamepad when we played

Why?

I actually like using the gamepad, the only problem I have is the shield/grab thing. But apparently that can be changed.

Short hopping and doing aerials is how the pros do it in melee. That's their main form of fighting.

What's a short hop?

Hmmm, I thought that was what Tips were for.

I don't know lots of tips/pointers for Falco/Fox.

Well just general tips will do. I only really started playing Smash a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still quite the newbie and can use all the help I can get.

Especially considering we 1v1'd and I got beat every time -- tell me what you think my problem was that was hindering my performance.

Falco isn't bad, go watch Keitaro

I know he isn't bad, but he's no Fox for sure.

In this game, anyways.

:(

So I gotta wait for Smash 5 to play as classic Falco

Also, what are the chances Falco gets a buff? He's ridiculously slow (and his forward smash is terribad).

I don't any tips, but I can give you pointers.

Will that help?

"Tips", "pointers", I don't care. I'll take what I can get.

Well mainly where I was on the ledge. I dropped down, double jumped into a forward air, then grabbed the ledge again.

Oh, that. Yeah, I noticed that. I was like "what's he doing. . ."

But good to know that that's forward air.

Can you guys critique my game? Offer any tips?

(I realise it might be harder for you CK because we didn't 1v1, but offer what you can pls)

I'm trying to demonstrate the tricks I'm talking about to of you are wondering why I'm doing the same thing five times, that's probably why.

I didn't even notice you were doing the same thing repeatedly. . .

I just went to the controller settings (btw, it's pretty extensive). I made L my jump button, X/Y my grab, and Z my shield.

I can tell you are accidently killing yourself a lot due to using your recovery move too far away. Make sure you don't waste your double jump and go off the stage

Now that you point it out, you're right.

How do you disable joystick jumping? (And can you do it in Melee as well?)

Gaming / Re: Super Smash Bros. Wii-U
« on: December 28, 2015, 07:40:57 PM »
I turned off jumping with the joysticks, so only buttons are how I jump. Keep me from wasting my double jump

Huh. That's interesting.

And fuck, I was doing decent in that match before I killed myself lol.

It's hard to do a neutral a in midair because I'm already holding the joy stick up when jumping.

Which move is the Fair again? The barrage of kicks, right?

A few tips. Use the fox illusion sparingly and low to the ground.

Like you noticed, I'd run away then turn quick and use it in your direction and usually hit you. A fake - out basically

That's the "b+sideways on the joystick" move, right? The equivalent of Falco's Phantasm?

Alright, that's enough Smash for today. Unless someone wants to 1v1 directly (as I think that's the best way you guys can give me some pointers).
I'll fight ya

Make a room, pal.
