No.

It is, however, a competition.

To me, things that are sports can be scored objectively, like basketball - you get a point for each basket you score. Running (x) distance in whatever time. Bowling you are score by how many pins you knock down.

Marching band is not a sport because it's scored by judges. Same with gymnastics, cheerleading, etc.

That ass is seriously fucking disgusting, as is the rest of her body. She is married, right? How does her partner not give a shit that she poses nude for everyone?
she's married to kanye west

it's a softcore spread.. she's famous for being in a sex tape with ray j... so, precedent

Video games are not sports, why the fuck are they even considered a sport?
conventional understanding of physicality being key to "sport" status vs ideological understanding of sports being competitions at the most fundamental level

So can anyone tell me why everyone fled B.next for here? What happened when I was gone?
lots of people didnt like the new interface. then the new wave of bungie/destiny fans came in. people have been moving offsite since before b.next, though, so sep7's existence is nothing new.

Yes, marching competitions can take quite a bit of work.
walking across campus can be quite tiring as well

but what makes it a sport

The marching itself? I don't mean straight line marching, anybody could do that, but the marching competitions - where they have fancy twists n shit and form images and move all over the football field. It's a lot harder than it looks and there's a lot of energy that goes into it. Ya know, carrying around drums while marching in time isn't exactly easy, nor playing a horn while still trying to breath during the march. The drums are heavy and horn players can run outta breath if they don't breathe correctly, on top of keeping time. It's why after a competition most people are pouring sweat and tired as fuck.
so physical skill, physical/mental coordination, and physical endurance. seems like a similar argument in favor of competitive cheerleading's status as a sport.

now answer the bonus question

Irish here, what the hell is a "frat"?
short for fraternity (brotherhood.) frats are popular communal organizations for college/university students all over america, and offer many benefits for membership. they are typically exclusive, holding "pledge rush" events at the beginning of school years/semesters and weeding out candidates who dont fit their style (if you try hard enough you'll eventually get into some frat if you're not a complete weirdo.) frats are almost always male-only, though females have similar fraternal organizations called "sororities."

frats are a huge part of american college culture

So, its just a club?
essentially. they usually charge some sort of membership fee, they tend to be involved in community service, they offer nationwide networking opportunities post-graduation (once a Greek, always a Greek,) and they provide a friendly subcommunity within the often intimidating college environment

I just find it convenient that everything we can scientifically prove about the nature of God happens to be written in the Bible.
So, you believe that something as supernatural and transcendent as God can be accurately described in a book with its roots in iron-age Palestine, and that this book's claims, with all its contradictions, can be scientifically verified?

Or, are you saying that what you think happens to be necessary for a God is in the Bible, and the rest of what the Bible says and claims is just fluff?
I just don't have the energy to keep on when I know you know I'm not being serious.
you know this is the "serious" subforum, right?

are you daft or just an ass?

its existential nihilism
I'd dispute that, to be honest. It's a subtle difference, but existentialism and nihilism differ, distinctly, in the fact that the latter claims there is no meaning to create. Which is why I'd hesitate to call "existential nihilism" of your order any meaningful (pun intended) form of nihilism.

But, hey, that's only my take.
there is no meaning in anything; any "meaning" i may create is just an illusion of my decaying mind, but it's there, and it keeps me going nonetheless. of course, semantics aren't really gonna get us anywhere.

The ideas you're looking for are panentheism and existentialism, respectively. Not deism and nihilism.
its existential nihilism, that's just cherry picking. panentheism is a much more precise ideology than deism, however; thanks for that. i was always a little unnerved by how vague my understanding of deism was.

Serious / Re: Why are fraternities still a thing?

fraternities offer many social and economic benefits to membership, and the benefits of their existence outweigh the perceived detriments.

I highly doubt that.
a personal opinion based on conjecture and anecdotal evidence, to be sure.

Same can be said for you.
howso? i didnt provide any anecdotes. i dont even go to a school with greek life. never been to a greek party. i do not condemn greek life based on incomplete or incidental information. i condone it because communal organizations such as frats/sororities offer lifelong benefits to their members and are often very active within their extended communities.
