JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, if that counts. how do you figure out what falls under that classification? i feel like Hunter x Hunter would because of its powerful themes
also i definitely need to watch FLCL again. watched it like 4 years ago and i don't remember anything besides liking it lol
Well, it was more than a little confusing. I watched it two years ago and I can't remember most of the characters names, let alone the events happening
it's supposed to be kinda confusing, since it's about puberty. it's hectic and beautiful and poetic
I wonder how different age groups perceive it. Are the younger fans more understanding because they're going through it at the time, or is it more confusing because they're not familiar with the concepts it tackles. Can older people reflect more strongly from more experience, or is the medium used too foreign from their experiences to convey information as readily. Moreover, can anyone get what the hell happens in the show, or is it ambiguous like the End of Evangelion with more nebulous nuances to emphasize the confusion factor?
i would guess younger kids would identify with the setting and hectic style. the whole living at home thing, relationship issues, new people coming into your life, not really being in control of the things that are happening around you. older people are probably more receptive to the overall themes and more appreciative of the aesthetic decisions.
this is why i love it so much. it's so nuanced and so incredibly poetic, there are so many different ways and reasons people might enjoy it.
On a side note, watching Fullmetal Alchemist when you're sick is strangely satisfying... More than you'd expect.
i feel the same way about big o... something about being delirious makes me not care about how nonsensical it is

Am I the only one who doesn't find Kevin Hart funny? I think he's seriously overrated.
i have a hard time with a lot of his standup. same deal with katt williams, but if im really stoned katt can bring out the giggles

im not sure about jojo, but HxH is kinda like Fullmetal Alchemist; still definitely a shounen, but it deals with more mature themes than most works in the genre
sounds like it's mostly based on the characters and style then. i think i'd consider JoJo a seinen then, and in that case it's certainly my favorite. hopefully im right tho
well, it was originally published in Shonen Jump, but has since been moved over to the seinen magazine Ultra Jump, so you are more than likely correct. i would guess that it straddles the line between the two with relative grace

what's your favorite seinen manga/anime? for reference, seinen tends to be aimed at males in the 17-40s age range (the next step up from shounen.)
i really like hellsing, ghost in the shell: stand alone complex, flcl, and space dandy

im basically the same person, but im more apt to get into arguments on the internet because i have easily accessible source material to refer to.
in video games, i turn into the same guy i am when i played sports in school. a retardedly hypercompetitive dickhead.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
My favorite album of all time, every single song on there is a masterpiece and has something for any type of mood I am in.
Honorable mention tracks:
Runaway Gorgeous Power Blame Game Lost in the World
fukkkin GOAT
all of his albums are really good, even yeezus. i think yeezus was the victim of a kneejerk reaction in the same way 808s was, and in a few years people are gonna look back on yeezus and say "you know, it was really different, but he clearly knew where he wanted to go with it and he executed his vision well." i love kanye. he's one of the best artists of our generation, and the divisiveness associated with him just makes it all the better.

its hard for me to pick an "all time great" favorite (i really like eddie murphy and dave chappelle, for example,) but in recent years ive been really impressed by bo burnham's stuff, even if it isnt traditional standup

George Carlin. I like just about everything of his, but particularly the stuff he did around his death. The early stand up, while still funny, is obviously dated and less sharp than his newer stuff.
It's Bad for 'ya and You are all Diseased are probably my favorites.
i liked its bad for ya a lot. carlin had a really unique attitude that made him seem more human than many other standups

Librarian. I'm a very private individual, and I can't really work in a stressful environment, so I need peace and quiet. I like books and information technology, and I like helping people. I don't really care about money. I just want to make enough to live in a comfortable apartment and live a nice, simple, inoffensive life.

I'm still fairly new. Still kinda alienated. Haven't really been let into the circlejerk yet. But I don't think I've made any enemies, so, things could be worse
