5 or 6, but i think its a rather fruitless argument to have either way.

hop off rocket's back. he isnt bothering anyone. let him believe what he wants to.
nobody cares about what he believes. But believe =/= know
christians dont see it that way.. im not sure you'll get anywhere with semantic dissection.
then christians are idiots
see, this is the sort of rhetoric that damages relationships and prevents these discussions from having any sort of value

though, this is the flood, so im probably expecting too much

hmmm, we have quite a few interesting and delicious creations.

i think BBQ is one of the top contenders, but it comes in so many different forms that it doesnt really qualify as a single food item.

id have to say my favorites are the cheeseburger and buffalo wings. classics.

I'm not one for platitudes.

If we can criticise how people act, we can criticise the propositions that motivate them to act in the first instance.
it just seems rather uncouth to me, is all. i think, as long as we go into these sorts of arguments throwing our personal biases aside, we can establish a substantive and effective dialogue. i know that its difficult to present an objective viewpoint, all things considered, but it may seem patronizing to theists when anti-theists posit their arguments from a "more enlightened" position, and i think that fundamentally damages the dialogue and doesnt really catalyze progression

though, i have a skewed perspective because of my apathetic feelings towards the metaphysical in general, so take that as you will

Are we talking about most at the time of Septagon? Or recent months, because a lot of the new members don't really know many of the OldFomans that left.....hell I haven't been active there in weeks.

If we're talking about the old community, then pretty much everyone here.
Yeah, it's like an All Star line up apart from the really new members and people who aren't from b.net
I imagine that anybody here who isn't from b.net doesn't understand that everybody here has known each other longer than the site has existed, and that only the most important users really came over here.
im a 6 year bnet veteran and i had no idea who most of you were when i first joined sep7
Private groups? Community forum?

We're mostly Flood, although I vaguely remember you.
i rarely posted in the flood. i joined harlow's brigade of sperginess really early on and never really left private groups except to start flamewars in the halo forums. i stayed in seasoned veterans/sapphire/HRG/forum tryhards for the majority of my time on b.old

i also change my handle a lot so its hard to get people to remember me since im always going by a different pseudonym a year later

The Flood / literary quotes
« on: February 05, 2015, 01:31:34 AM »
what are some of your favorite literary quotes?

ill start with an example from the epic of gilgamesh

"She answered, 'Gilgamesh, where are you hurrying to? You will never find the life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted to him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. As for you, Gilgamesh, fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry, feast and rejoice. Let your clothes be fresh, bathe yourself in water, cherish the little child that holds your hand, and make your wife happy in your embrace; for this too is the lot of man.'"
