Ugh yeah it was. The first mention of the word "Xenomorph" was used in the extended edition of Aliens. The word was never used once in Alien.
when gorman said "xenomorphs" he was referring to genetic extraterrestrial life in general; the name just kind of stuck after that, though. officially, its hard to say what the proper name for the species is. in the alien quadrilogy dvd their binomial species name is Internecivus raptus ("murdering thief") and in some of the comics they're called Lingua foeda acheronsis, or "foul tongue"

What about Alien vs Predator?
alien vs predator took place in 2004, and requiem sometime shortly after that in 2004/2005. the events of alien and aliens wouldnt happen for another hundred years after AVP, so they dont need to say or do anything about those two movies because they have little to nothing to do with the main series, unless blomkamp decides to integrate it somehow.
Those were the awful ones though. They make 3 and Resurrection look like masterpieces.
i know, but there is no need to address them at the moment, because this next film will take place after the events of aliens. theyd have no reason to retcon the events of a movie that happened like 200 canon years before the events of Alien 5, especially since the events of the AVP movies have little to no effect on the "alien" universe at large in any case, i kinda liked avp, even though it kinda shat all over everything i thought i knew about alien/predator. if it hadnt been an AVP movie and just a movie about people finding warring aliens in the arctic, it might have been received better

I chose it because it was easy. Now almost a year after graduation I'm working at a KMart. I hoped to get a Technical Writer position for an IT company and interviewed last month, but didn't get it...oh well. Don't major in history kids. If you want to be a teacher it's fine though.
Do you think you could get a teaching job if you wanted one?
(My friend is a History major and wants to be a teacher)
all you have to do is get a teaching certificate with your history major and you're qualified to teach at most any public school

this reminds me of a weird interaction i had with my indian biology professor a few semesters ago setting: my college, 8 PM, on a cold and windy winter night. i just got out of bio, and i went to my car to drive home. after walking all the way across the parking lot, i find out to my great displeasure that my car wont start- i need a jump. so, i survey the parking lot for potential aid: none to be seen, but wait! who is that figure a couple hundred feet away? oh shit its my professor! so, i jog over to her and explain that my car is dead and i need a jump. she looks at me, says "oh sure ok i think i have some cables." excellent, my problems are solved! she opens her trunk, gets the cables, hands them to me, gets in her car and drives off. i had to get the campus police to jump me after that, and then i had to return her cables the next week. i should have kept them/

the way ive heard it, the light composition is messing with people's eyes in some versions of the photo.
it's definitely shitty lighting and I can totally see a gold tint, but how the fuck can people mistake the blue for white? it isn't even a light blue, it's very dark
i really dont know. i have an extraordinarily rudimentary understanding of how our eyes work. probably has something or other to do with colorblindness, and im sure a big part of it is a giant placebo
