Toriyama dislikes the way the anime made him out to be some sort of justice driven caped crusader. That's why in Kai Goku portrays more of his passive aggressiveness and more dickish personality. Goku doesn't fight people out of some sort of desire to do good and protect his friends, he does it so he can fight stronger people.

In the end Vegeta became a much better person and father figure than Goku because he swallowed his pride and did things for the sake of others instead of himself. Plus he was actually there for his son.

he didnt really start talking in that cheesy Superman type language until after he met Kami, i always figured it was Kami's influence that made him that way

i recently finished aldnoah.zero and was pleasantly surprised by it. other than that, ive been watching a lot of south park/futurama reruns. i dont keep up with current tv, mostly just rewatching old anime or whatever CN/[as]/comedy central are rerunning

Well, I watch anime for different reasons, mostly its just to watch a story unfold, hell the parts maybe shit, but overall I may find a less than stellar anime, interesting enough, to waste my time on. I don't need high quality at all times, as long as its entertaining to me in one form or another thats good enough.

Also anime is a real nice distraction, from other things.

nothing about inuyasha makes any fucking sense and 99% of the dialogue is incomprehensible cryptobabble, but i like the art direction so i like it anyway

id convert and live. i have no pride or honor, so i have no qualms about living a false life in order to maintain that life.

if he saw and hated GITS, there's no hope. we just need to let this one go. he might eventually warm up to it, but there's nothing we can do to make him like it right now.

the only anime i watched as a kid was pokemon, and i enjoyed it, but only because i was a stupid kid
it's still probably the best anime i've ever seen though--i'd give it a 5/10

i would watch DBZ when it was on as a kid as well--i hated it
bleach, too, when it was on adult swim
along with inuyasha, shin-chan, and death note

though to be fair i haven't seen enough of those four to technically form a real opinion on them
but from what i saw, i have no desire to return to them

then there's naruto, and one piece
they're bad

i've seen a couple miyazaki films, and while they were enjoyable, i find it difficult to really count them
because they're SO like... accessible, like pokemon
so no, i won't count that

and i forced myself to watch ghost in the shell

all youve seen are the super popular shounen, and most of them are awful. i dont know why you didnt like GITS. sounds like you didnt want to, so you probably missed its themes and messages and just experienced the aesthetics.

sounds like you just have a really closed mind about this because of some bad experiences with series which arent very good in the first place (mostly, i do think dragon ball is good, and death note has its moments.) idk what to tell you. id say for you to watch more miyazaki films like spirited away and mononoke but youll probably just end up hating them too.

maybe animation just isnt for you. i cant think of an objective reason why youd dislike ALL anime so much other than the format itself. which really fucking sucks, because i know for a fact that you're missing out on some fantastic writing.
