seriously, SAO is one of the worst anime shows to come out in our lifetime. go watch Cowboy Bebop right now.

I watched Space Dandy, close enough right?
go watch bebop nao, then watch Stein's Gate for something intellectual... also, stein's gate only gets really good when shit goes down in ep. 12, the first season is basically all world building.
steins gate is rly good but if we're talking about intellectual/thought provoking shows, ghost in the shell is where its at

GITS is probably a little too heavy for new anime viewers though

It's arguably be the single greatest work of serial animation.
That must be some convincing arguement.
lol
great animation, ASTOUNDING soundtrack, fantastic voice acting (especially the dub,) smartly written/explores philosophical themes (ennui/existentialism) while at the same time spinning a deeply intimate tragic romance (and it has just enough comic relief/lightheartedness to not feel heavy handed,) short & sweet, even the "filler" episodes provide character development + flesh out the bebop universe. and of course this is all due to the masterful direction of shinichiro watanabe.

its an extremely well rounded show. do i personally believe that its the best animated tv show ever? nope, but i can see why someone might believe that. it's certainly a "must watch" for anyone who wants to watch anime or adult-oriented animation in general

My friend wears Affliction clothing though........he better not kill himself.
if you love him, burn the affliction clothing, or roast him verbally every time you see him until he gets rid of it. no one should wear it.

Dandy's great, but it doesn't touch Bebop. Bebop is one of the greatest television shows of all time. It's arguably be the single greatest work of serial animation.

The Flood / Re: How hard is basic training for the Army?
« on: April 15, 2015, 08:30:54 PM »
itll be easier if you go in expecting the worst. the general idea of basic training is to tear down the person you once were and build up a good soldier- someone who will follow orders immediately and without question.

the physical parts are doable for just about anyone, youll just have a hard time if you arent in peak physical condition. but exercise is hardly something to complain about.

id like to think that this is the exception and not the rule

i live in the fuckin bible belt and all through my public schooling, there were tons of kids who refused to say the pledge and they werent punished for it

anecdotal evidence doesnt mean much, thats just my experience on the matter

Are you in grade 2?

nope im in 10th grade

we have vocab in english and if we do sentences we get 5 extra credit points :)
christ you should have seen what I was doing for English. Book reports, essays, short stories, research projects. Too bad I forgot most of it all. Lol were probs on the same level now.
book annotations, independent research papers, book reviews... looking back, my 10th grade lit teacher was assigning a lot of the same things i have to do for my 4000 level history courses in college, except she taught us how to do everything really fucking wrong.

if a teacher EVER tries to teach you an "independent" citation format, something's gone wrong. cant believe that woman ever got hired.
