But anyways, do you *really* think that Dzhokar will have free education, entertainment, and exercise other than the bare minimum? It doesn't mean that just because he gets life in prison, that he'll get access to all of those things. The US is gonna become a shitstorm if they give them any of those things.
Well yeah, of course. It depends on what prison he goes to, but he'll have access to the basics.
Probably here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADX_Florence

There is no evidence to suggest that the Death Penalty is an effective deterrent though.
Not to mention the astronomical costs the taxpayer has to bear the brunt of to try and get someone convicted for the death penalty. Bureaucracy isn't cheap funnily enough.
It's about punishment, not deterrent. I think Tsarnaev deserves to be executed for his participation in the bombing.
As for cost, while the trial for the death penalty is more expensive than a trial for life in prison, when you factor in the actual cost of incarcerating someone for life, it far exceeds that of the trial.
Regardless, justice shouldn't be meted out based on cost.
So you'd rather martyr him than lock him up in supermax for the rest of his natural life? That's exactly what he wants.

Episode 4, with Keegan Michael-Key. Special appearance from Cobie Smulders. My observations: looks like ONI is dangerously close to a police state on planets where they have a hegemony. Ben seemed surprised by the fact that he was being watched/listened to; he's been in the Outer Colonies, so ONI probably isn't listening as closely there. What are the "rumblings in deep space?" Is he just talking about a rumor mill, or something else? Are we abusing slipspace? Is it Locke going on a rampage destroying Covenant remnants, trying to find Chief? The hell is up with the obsidian walkway?

its so bad though
the plot is so predictable to the point where its annoying but a good watch either way. Especially the first couple episodes, oh boy they were good.
The next season is probably going to be about the identity of the colossal and the armoured abnormals since the captain of scouts was talking about finding titan shifters within the population.
i know it only gets worse

i still don't understand why superman and batman are fighting
its actually a fairly common trope in the DC universe. the most famous time they fought was in Frank Miller's comic The Dark Knight Returns, which is a heavy inspiration for the batman of this film. theyve also fought in the Justice League animated television series and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, and the game Injustice: Gods Among Us, and many other times in other comics/movies/etc. usually, these plots examine the limits of supermans moral standing, and explore the potentially dangerous realities of a superman "gone mad." sometimes superman goes mad with grief and begins killing or lobotomizing villains to keep them at bay for good. he becomes authoritarian and cruel. batman, as supermans foil, is usually the one that has to stop him. i dont think this superman is like that. i think hes a good person. but after the fight with zod, its pretty clear that he's very dangerous- he wasnt directly responsible for most of the destruction, but he was intimately involved, and thats enough to raise some eyebrows. you can hear lex luthor talking about devils coming from the sky, and you see a bunch of people who appear to be zealously loyal to the idea of superman (the soldiers, the people at the festival, etc), and you see that there are some people who don't like him (the go home chants, the false god graffiti). so he's a pretty polarizing figure. there isnt a consensus on whether or not its ok that hes here. i think bruce is worried that superman will inevitably cause more devastation no matter what, and he needs to address the problem once and for all, so he's going to go one on one with supes and beat the truth out of him. but i think there's something to be said for the title- it isnt "batman vs superman," its "batman v superman," like in a court of law. it implies a conflict of ideals or ethics, and the rest of the title, "dawn of justice," is pretty obviously a setup for future justice league stuff, so we know they're gonna work this out somehow. i think lex is gonna end up being the main threat here.

Also, there's this:
I imagine that a neo-nazi group who has come to see Superman as the "Ubermensch" called him to that place, and he was unaware of the group's nature.
Actually a pretty interesting concept I don't recall being explored before.
yeah. here he is with a bunch of people who look like theyre attending a dia de los muertos celebration. and here is some random dude reaching out to him. i dont wanna make any assumptions about this one. but it certainly seems that there may be some zealous/religious superman fans popping up. i like it

its probably from the dark knight returns, the primary inspiration for the batman of this film then again, it could also be a kryptonite rifle.

ok
In case you haven't noticed most anime titles are nonsensical when taken literally.
Actually this goes for most media in general now that I think about it.
Example pls
spongebob squarepants

it doesn't take a genius to come up with an answer like that. I think it's only really an intelligent answer if you're ignoring the whole point that you have eternity verses 80 years on earth. Couldn't someone say that great things do come out of suffering? If hypothetically, someone were to suffer horribly but still display tremendous faith in God, it would inspire others to follow God. In the past that's brought thousands to Christianity. When people see hope and life in the face of death and suffering it tends to bring people to God. Well then you might say, "omg gods a cunt. He curses people as a small price to bring others to him". A according to the old book, humanity cursed itself so really he's just putting us in the right places to make the best out of it. Also when you put it in perspective 80 years of occasional discomfort vs an eternity of hell or heaven depending on what we want, his answer seems childish in my opinion. Kinda what I'm thinking when people say what the dude in the video says.
we live, we suffer, and we die, and the universe wont bat an eye. there is no positive egalitarian treatment from god.
we all suffer, and thats the only gift he gives to all people.
This literally makes no sense. You basically implied there isn't a god and then went on to say that all God does is give people pain.
This flawed thinking and you're speaking with your emotions. So is the guy in the video and so are a lot of the people in this thread. When you speak emotionally you come off sounding childish and no offence, whiny. Either there is no God and all of this happens because it just does. Or there is a God and there is suffering because of the benefits that come out of it. There will always be something good that comes out of suffering even if you don't see it. Always. Most people don't see it because they're too busy wallowing in their own sorrow. Pro tip, that's selfish behaviour so if you want to think like a Christian and understand why they think the way they do then you're going to have to look at things differently. If we stop focusing on ourselves then suffering takes on a different meaning. We can use our own suffering to reach out to others. It can be our motivation and drive to do good in this world.
of course there isnt a god. i was trying to make a point about the contradictory and illogical nature of the christian god

Alright Sep7agon, what are some of your favorite moments in movies where an actor or voice actor delivered a line PERFECTLY? One of my favorites has to be this, from The Empire Strikes Back. "The Force is with you, young Skywalker... but you are not a Jedi yet."
