also wait how can stan the man hold dragonstone when the targs have control of the crownlands? ah fuck it i guess this isnt supposed to make any sense at all
The idea is to have less restriction on choice. Is it that difficult to remove yourself canonically for game purposes?
its not necessarily about canon story progression, its that dragonstone is the seat of the targ heirs, and their oldest stronghold in the kingdoms. stannis can set himself up wherever but if he's set up in dragonstone right now thats an act of aggression against the lords of the crownlands
Eh it's a separate island so it works for the parameters of the game. Plus it's Mannis.

Bit late now to change things anyway.
i mean its not like much else is going on, we might as well have a war. i should start working on those marriages..

out of character: rhaegar is alive, right? so if aerys II dies without incident then rhaegar will ascend to the throne?
The game isn't about death. If someone usurps your province then it's your prerogative to reclaim the territory or assimilate another territory. The lords don't really matter, it's just an enhancement to the game.
so am i just supposed to be a land jew playing forum Risk

Prince Doran Martell would like to arrange a marriage pact with the Tyrells of Highgarden. Sunspear presents Prince Quentyn Martell, a man grown, born 281 AC to Prince Doran and Mellario of Norvos, and wishes to wed him to Margaery Tyrell. Prince Doran would also like to offer to host a lavish tourney in Sunspear in honor of the betrothal.

Dunno mang. Kinda hyped just for the story and style. Just hope its not poop.
Probably another zombie game tho.  :P
i am always down for more afro samurai content, just dont see how it could possibly be canon unless it happens between the events of the original series and the movie

What FPS, in particular?

I noticed a considerable difference at Halo when I:
1: switched to Bumper Jumper (not having to take your thumb off the right stick to jump makes a pretty big difference)
2: practiced my aim and strafing by playing modes like Octagon
3: played with people who are/were better than me

At other games, I normally get better by watching how other people play, and compare it to myself.  Generally speaking, you're going to be really good if you're not a predictable player.  In games like Battlefield, this pretty talented guy called LevelCap talks about how his reaction time and aim aren't top notch, but he's very good at moving in ways that people wouldn't expect.
there was a bnet user named shadowzkiller who used to make really really good commentary videos for halo 3 that said something similar in one of his videos that i cant find for the lfie of me. something like "im not the best at 1v1 mechanics, but i can move and duck around well, and that surprises people and takes them off guard and makes me seem a lot better than i really am"

It's all about reflexes and tactical choices. Sometimes you just get fucked by walking into the wrong hallway or throwing a frag when you should've thrown a flashbang. Shit like that. You just have to think fast and act fast.
for starters, sure. map control and your ability to react to enemy movements cross-map is a much more significant factor though

the way i learned to play halo well was by playing with people who were WAY better than me all the time. i basically got adopted by the best player on bungie.net and learned everything i know from the people i met through him. eventually your mechanical skill will improve and you will be able to learn macro strategy from good players as well.

you can never improve by playing with and against terrible players.

Ugh, I never get to participate in stuff like this.
we've had it scheduled for a while, unless you mean "this is the wrong game i wish we had a different one for game night"
Nah, it's more along the lines of "gamenight taking place late at night, 5 hours before I have to get up for a major exam, and is hosted in the US where I never ping any less than 300." But yeah, not really my type of game either.
you best be getting to sleep and letting your brain recharge then

a semicolon should break up two independent clauses; they often combine two related clauses better than a period.
