if i were to start getting into comics, like... where would i start there's so many storylines and stuff--it just seems like an absolute nightmare to follow
i take it the movies aren't really good resources, but they'd be the easiest for me
honestly just shuffle around the various DC and Marvel properties until you find a storyline that seems interesting and just go from there. for tv/movies, DC's animated stuff is the go-to. Batman: The Animated Series Superman: The Animated Series Justice League Justice League: Unlimited Static Shock Batman Beyond ^ all share the same universe Teen Titans & Young Justice are both really good as well for movies theres a lot of good options Wonder Woman 2009 Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Batman: Under the Red Hood Batman: Assault on Arkham Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox Justice League: Gods and Monsters (also has three 5 minute companion shorts + some companion comics) for marvel properties, try these for shows X Men: Evolution Spider Man (1967- this is more of a "so bad its good" kind of thing, a really fun romp that doesnt take itself seriously) Spider Man (1994) marvel movies: Spider Man 2 X Men X Men 2 X Men: First Class X Men: Days of Future Past (retcons the events of X Men 3 so you might want to watch or read about X3 to really understand whats going on) Blade Iron Man 1 Captain America 2 Guardians of the Galaxy

Both Marvel and DC's universes just got "rebooted", so now is a great time to start reading the comics.
If you're more into watching stuff, check out anything from the DC Animated Universe. -Batman: The Animated Series -Batman Beyond -Justice League -Justice League Unlimited
For movies, -All-Star Superman -Batman: Under the Red Hood -Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths -Justice League: Doom -Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox.
Any of those are great.
For Marvel, I recommend the 90's Spider-man show, and Spectacular Spider-man. Nothing else is really all that great from Marvel, animation-wise.
the '67 spider man show tho its fuckin LEGENDARY

That's all superheroes.
Superman could just laser beam Lex Luthor and pretty much every other evil person.
But then they wouldn't be able to sell a billion comics.
i don't think that's all superheroes i don't consider spider-man to be overly powerful
yeah he's about mid-tier in marvel
>mid-tier >can't even bust a planet >as far as I know anyway
mid tier being guys liek deadpool and wolverine and the like. planet busting is a tier all its own
http://www.comicvine.com/forums/battles-7/marvel-tier-list-revised-670112/
heres a decent tier list
I've always placed the street-level heroes at low-tier, big badass heroes like Thor and Sentry at mid-tier, and omnipotent cosmic powerhouses like Galactus and Phoenix at high-tier.
But that's just me.
i trust in comicvine/whowouldwin lists since these guys like live and breathe this stuff. "got feats?"

You know Uruguay has free schooling and it's actually pretty damn good.
i better get a bigger backpack. and a big stick. the trek through central america is gonna be real tricky..
You'll also need citizenship and be able to speak Spanish fluently.
i can pick up spanish easy enough. but that citizenship thing is a kicker. damn. RIP hopes and dreams.

NPR, PBS, /r/news, /r/worldnews. And Facebook lol.
I get the vast majority of my news from NPR. Since I have a 40 minute commute during school days I have plenty of time to listen to the radio and I'd rather listen to NPR than the same rap or pop or classic rock songs I've heard 100000 times already

DOTA and LOL both take upwards of 40 minutes regularly per match. The longer the game goes, the more likely its gonna be that someone snaps and starts raging because they think their teammates are wasting their time or something.

strictly speaking, yes, it is a sport. gamers are NOT athletes, and it is NOT an athletic competition, but it is indeed a sport, in the classical understanding of the word.

what proof do we have that h5's story is going to be any better than h4?
We don't have proof of that. But it's a reasonable assumption to make, that Halo 5 will be close to or better than Halo 4. I know it will at least be better than anything Bungie produced.
Halo 4's story wasn't good, but it was better than anything that preceded it.
i think we have a fundamental disagreement about this franchise. so im gonna drop it here. tsk tsk..
