No, I usually just watch gameplay footage via lets players and decide from there. I don't think I've ever consulted a review in order to decide whether or not to buy something.

Hemmorage in Reach, for invasion slayer. Holy shit, walking took forever and if someone from the other team got the sniper youre screwed. The forge maps in general were bad. And i hate rogue transmission.
every single variant of blood gulch has been absolutely awful. i hated how stupidly often hem got picked in btb.

If you played MCC with grenade spamming and spawn-killing on these maps, you'd understand my pain....

Spoiler

Wizard's a pretty good map tho. If you're getting spawn killed that often maybe you should get gud :p

i hate playing any of the standard rulesets because i dont want to give in to the pay2win aspect of the game. back in high school i used to play street rules with a bunch of friends on fridays instead of doing FNM.

i always liked blue decks the best.

Fuck. I've only heard good things about this guy, too. Why he gets incurable cancer and sick fucks that kill children on a regular basis remain alive boggles my mind.

i guess you could call it "karma"

It would be unfair to judge that statement without the context in which it was used.
because 'get cancer and die' has such a wide variety of applications and potential meanings rite

You realize that he apologized for that years ago and the person he said it to has long since forgiven him for that little spat they got into right? It's pretty irrelevant since the people involved have made up and moved on.
yes, in fact i just posted the tweet where he apologized. doesn't change the fact that it happened and now he's gonna die from complications from ass cancer. do i legitimately think he deserved to get cancer for saying that? nope. do i think its funny, and was it relevant to the topic at hand? yep.
So why were you aggressively pursuing this like he deserved it instead of answering a simple question?
i think youre projecting a bit there. i wasnt "aggressively pursuing" anything lol.
umm

I think you might want to check up on the definition of projecting.
you projected your own analysis of the exchange onto my intent. its not my fault you read aggression in plain text.

Quote
transfer or attribute one's own emotion or desire to (another person), especially unconsciously.

Umm

I would have to be attributing my own emotions, desires, insecurities, et cetera onto you for me to be projecting. I can't be projecting an aggressive narrative of TB did everything wrong if I'm explaining that that exchange isn't really scandalous due to the fact that everyone involved has made up and moved past it.

The question still remains though. Why didn't you explain what happened during that exchange instead of carrying on like you did?
play semantics all you want LC (that word has more applications than a psychological definition you lifted from the oxford dictionary) , but you fundamentally misunderstood the nature of my posts. also, i did provide information about TB's original exchange. did i say anything in particular that you would like me to answer for? by all means, show me the specific phrase that set you off.
But no, I don't really care for whatever made up definition you're using.
lol

stay in school man..

also, you might want to go back and actually look at the timestamps, because i posted his apology tweet 3 minutes before your first post. which gives context and proves that the original tweet wasnt a joke. but whatever helps you feel better i guess.

Coming from the guy who used projecting incorrectly and then proceeded to damage control.

Yeah, and you gave absolutely no context when asked and kept acting like a prat. So you didn't actually do what was asked of you.
the crux of your argument here boils down to "NUH UH". like what. you just keep saying i didnt do these things, or that i used the word incorrectly (again, more practical applications than the psychological definition you lifted from the OD). do you think misrepresenting reality bolsters your position?

jesus dude. got a chip on your shoulder or something?

i never found myself terribly immersed in 1984. orwell talked about some cool concepts but honestly i just wasnt drawn in. huxley did a much better job with worldbuilding+characterization IMO.

How the hell are you people arguing about this LOL

Exercise is good and important. Bodybuilding is stupid. End of discussion.

I don't think anyone argues against this. Just the concept that weights is like, the only way you can do exercise. I mean, I just do a lot of walking and don't eat crap and I'm neither over or under weight. I'm at a happy medium where I don't change.

Except I and the OP don't care about health benefits, and if you were really concerned with being healthy, "lifting" would not be the most important thing on your list. He only lifts because he wants to look good, and it being "healthy" is a bonus. If it wasn't healthy to work out, people would still do it.
That's not what this is about. You're entitled to treating your own body poorly. That's your prerogative. Where you went wrong is saying things like:
Quote
Because I'm not insecure about how I look. Making yourself better looking is the only "rational" (use that VERY loosely) reason to do it, and I don't care about that.
Quote
Lifting weights is primarily used to increase muscle mass and strength, both of which have nothing to do with your health.
Quote
If you're lifting with the intention of improving muscle mass, you're not doing it right to the point where health is your priority, like running or eating well.
Quote
I'm saying the positive aspects of weight training don't matter -- they're not worth it.

See, in these cases, you're letting your personal biases affect your ability to objectively judge the situation. Your feelings override fact and you speak as though these things are true, when the reality is that they aren't. I've provided enough credible source material to back that up. Whereas you haven't provided any external sources of information and seem to be relying solely on your own offhand knowledge (or, rather, lack thereof).

i think you have entirely missed the point here. youre focusing so much on the mental aspect of why people lift weights that youre willfully ignoring all the positive aspects of weight training.

No, I'm not. I'm saying the positive aspects of weight training don't matter -- they're not worth it.

And as long as we're being honest, the vast majority of "weight lifters" do not do it for health benefits. I should know, I used to be one.

Quote
its clear that youre a bit flustered

LOL

Nah, you just seem to have some personal vendetta against me. Either that or you're just naturally a cunt to people who've done nothing to you.

ill just drop off some information, in that case. weight training is very "worth it." im not even sure what thats supposed to imply- do you think everyone who lifts weights gets hurt or something?

http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/bhcarticles.nsf/pages/Resistance_training_the_health_benefits?open

And, y'know, I'm really not sure where you got the idea that I'm being hostile towards you. You're the one using words like cunt and asking others to calm down in the middle of a normal conversation. Do you think I followed you to this thread specifically to harass you or something? I replied to you here because you've been saying some genuinely disturbing, incorrect things about health+fitness. We have a young, impressionable userbase. How are they supposed to know the difference between fact and unsubstantiated bullshit if people don't call the bullshit out?

No, obviously not. To the point where you lift to increase your muscle mass (which is what lifting is PRIMARILY used for) doesn't matter.

Quote
ill take "obvious facts" for $500, alex. muscle training may take a lower priority than proper nutrition, but that doesnt mean it isnt deeply involved with your health. besides, many resistance/endurance training methods also improve your cardiovascular health.

Calm the fuck down in both our conversations, bro.
