Now that BTB is out, I'm going to plug http://www.bigteambattle.net/

The folks in charge are still working things out. Might have to wait until the Forge update for things to kick off in full swing, but keep an eye on this website for updates either way.

BTBnet is responsible for churning out some of the best BTB teams Halo has ever had. Wake Up, for example, was a BTBnet competitor.

>Competitive Big Team Battle

It's ok, we only want talented people anyway. You stay in your corner.

Do the settlers require ammo once given a gun? I think companions need that.
I don't think so. I gave one of my provisioners an automatic institute pistol with a single fusion cell and she fired off a ton of shots at some super mutants during a fight. I don't know if it would be different for the actual settlers.

So I'm enjoying the game lots but

The fact you cannot be evil, and the fact the dialogue wheel narrows so much player choice, is just a horrible boner killer for this game. It's literally only

Yes
Maybe/Sarcastic
No (which is really yes)
Question

You had more choice, even in Fallout 3. It's just so bad.
i hate the way my character acts during main quest cutscenes. like, i got over the kidnapping ages ago and understand that shaun may be all but lost to me, but my character is still screaming at kellog and forcing a fight to the death despite the fact that i would personally like to talk things out.

i miss new vegas' narrative and dialogue ideas.

Do you understand the implications of using nukes in 2015, or are you just saying retarded things for the sake of fitting in?

What are actual, good sources of information on the debate between whether or not Islam is more violent than other religions?
The Quran would be a good place to start.

Okay beforehand I will say that I am no good with politics and world news at all.

What if some of the refugees that came into France were like, ISIS spies or something? There were so many of them it's hard to check them all.

Didn't they even say something along those lines a while ago?

Just a thought, correct me if I'm being retarded.
A Syrian passport was found on the body of one of the hostiles. The reality is that the open borders made it easy for sympathizers, or even actual members of IS, to hide among the refugees.

So it's highly likely that they sneaked in among the refugees then?

IIRC, I believe I read somewhere that (at least) one of the attackers was a French citizen, and that some of the attackers were seen driving cars with a Belgian license plate.

Take it as a grain of salt as to how the attackers got to Paris.
Extremist thought and action spreads memetically, and manifests itself as a stand alone complex in many scenarios. I wouldn't be surprised if the Paris attacks were perpetrated by extremists from many different walks of life, like you say.

What exactly is it about Islam that makes it seem so more prone to violence? I'm only recently starting to consider the possibility that it's actually not just the crazy people, it's part of the doctrine.
It was founded by a literal warlord and in 90% of the areas it makes up the majority religion it was spread through violence and coercion.

It also politicizes itself, which most religions don't do.
christianity- politicized
judaism- politicized
buddhism- politicized
hinduism- politicized
confucianism- politicized
taoism- politicized

the list goes on. try again.

I see the kneejerk reactionary force is out in full swing today.
This board is populated by white supremacists, pedophiles, and misogynists with no understanding of world politics or the nuanced nature of social systems. Did you really expect them to react in any other way than "massacre the brown menace?"
I'd point to poe's law on some of that really, I really doubt we have a horde of actual child molesting C18ers running around the place. A lot of it is said for parody/comedy to the point where it becomes half believed, other bits are just emotive.
Does it really matter whether they only half-believe their own bullshit if they never break character enough to say something sane? I say no. Incubating that sort of environment makes us no better than the chans. And honestly I'm getting sick of it.
I'd say it does, the difference between someone saying something absurd and someone believing something absurd is notable even if you can't actively tell the difference.

Taking it all with a pinch of salt is the best way to approach it, if you take everything on here seriously you'll end up going stir crazy because of the amount of retarded horseshit that flies through the air.

I'd rather see people able to laugh at something awful than have them fly into a rage because someone made an off-colour joke.

People say horrible shit all the time, take 'two bombs not enough' for example. Does the person genuinely think that hundreds of thousands more civilians should have died because of the USA's rageboner for Japan? Would they actually push the button even if they said they would?

Don't get me wrong, some of it isn't halal.

Saying you are going to strangle the next muslim you meet because of this starts to go beyond parody, but screaming about raising the next crusade and wiping out the middle east with napalm and white phosphorous (even though on paper, that is far worse) is clearly not going to be happening any time soon.
Maybe I'm the problem, then.

I've stayed out of this thread so far, but I'll have to stop you right there.

This is one of the most sociopolitically learned communities that I have seen on the internet.

I actually have no qualms with Islam, and believe that the Jews are the problem, but I still respect the opinions of the people ITT enough to let them say what they will and not write them off as the words of idiots.

100 in the theatre summarily executed, including children.

it wasnt a death metal band, it was a rock band called the eagles of death metal. similar to queens of the stone age (same lead singer iirc)

Although I'm not so sure I'd be so quick to blame religion, which I'm seeing most people do. This seems more political/ideologically motivated.
Are you FUCKING kidding me?
You're blaming an entire religion of people for the acts of a radical group.
Yes, we are.

Just because a bunch of people believe in something, and use it for mostly good purposes, doesn't mean it isn't a dangerous ideology in many respects.
Nevertheless as a whole 1.57 billion people aren't evil. What the radicals are doing is exactly the reason why there are so many refugees fleeing.
I'm aware. I'm not saying, by any means, that all Muslims are evil. That's ridiculous, because it's obvious that the vast majority of them are normal, peaceful people. But that doesn't mean that I don't believe Islam sometimes expresses a higher tendency to escalate into extremism. This is nothing against the people who practice it, but I am going to say that I'm beginning to think this way about the Islamic religion. It's volatile.
History has shown us that the baton for extremism tends to jump around. Seriously, look at the Crusades. While Christan based countries were engulfed in war and constant attacks, Islamic countries were peaceful and flourishing, and we saw the rise of some of brilliant mathematicians, science, and art.

The reason why moderates can show to be somewhat sympathetic is because it's similar to nationalism, same way that moderate Christians during the Crusades would've been.
>Implying that the Crusades weren't a reaction to centuries of Muslim invasions.
Dude this was a time when countries were empires and we had kings and emperors instead of presidents and prime ministers. Countries were constantly trying to dominate one another, and that was all about power.
Urban II had several agendas on hand. One, to expand the Roman church's influence across the Mediterranean. Unmolested travel for Christian pilgrims in the holy land was another. Another big one was that a good deal of knights were getting into a lot of trouble in their homelands, committing horrible crimes, and they would be promised earthly and spiritual salvation/forgiveness for those sins if they participated. Oh, and Urban was kinda asked by the Byzantine emperor Alexius I Comnenus to do it.

But clearly it was god's will that the good, squeaky-clean white christians wage holy war against the brown devil. If we're to believe these historically illiterate chanfags, that is.

Thought guns were illegal over there tho? Howd this happen?
illegal weapon proliferation after the balkan conflicts, iirc.
