Kind of feels like the Bats vs. Supes stuff is going to be done in the first act and it'll just be baby Justice League vs. Doomsday for the rest of the movie.

Nah, there's no difference. It used to be 'vs.' until the 90s and the terminology was changed to 'v.' (for instance, Roe v. Wade was originally Roe vs. Wade). In all cases, 'vs.' means exactly the same thing as 'v.'
but ever since that change, v is pretty much only used in court of law, and it isnt even pronounced as "versus." i think the choice to use v instead of vs is deliberate and has a direct connection with the more significant accountability conflict going on.

I can appreciate new takes on old characters but Eisenberg sounds like Lex Luthor by way of the fucking Toyman. He sounds like he downed a gallon of Red Bull before coming to work.
Also I'd prefer if they removed Wonder Tits and Doomzarro to focus on the conflict the movie is named after, but that's not going to happen.
this movie was never going to be about supes and bats trading blows for 2 1/2 hours. it's called dawn of justice because its the birth of the justice league. making a birth of JL movie without wonder woman would be fucking retarded.
It's called Batman versus Superman before anything else. That's the main drawing point. That's what everyone is going to see it for. Wonder Woman and Ninjaturtlesday should not be part of that equation. Maybe they could appear in the stinger or something to set them up for the next movie.

me too. i really like this take on lex so far. the way bruce and clark just tower over him in that gala scene... his desire to be like them is palpable. i also really liked the mind games they were all playing with each other. lex clearly knew who both of them were, and they each knew the other's secret... but neither of them knew what lex was truly up to.

No one talks like that. No one. Everything else is either good or passable, IMO. THe imagery is perfect. All 3 of the Holy Trinity look AMAZING. They all embody their character more than any of Marvel's (except maybe Bucky, but w/e.)
I'm kind of indifferent about Doomsday... I mean, I would've preferred him NOT be in this movie, but if it's done right, I don't really care. Doomsday is a crap villain anyways.
lex's public persona is probably supposed to be a super weird, unassuming guy. creates contrast for when he goes full supervillain. him acting and talking the way he does is completely fine within context.

Lel. They ended up spoiling the movie big time by revealing too much. At first we think it's going to be BM VS SM and then it turns out it's a team up against Doom and all of a sudden Wonder Women comes out of nowhere. The trailer should have ended when Doom fired that beam at Batman. Also why is this even called Batman VS Superman when their fight isn't the the plot for the movie? They go from fighting each other to teaming up to take out somebody else.

Civil War will be more interesting to me.
BvS will be more amusing because they have to establish SEVERAL new characters in one movie: Wonder Woman, Batfleck, Jesse Eisenberg, and apparently Doomsday, Aquaman, and Cyborg will have an appearance of some sort in the movie. That's a lot of characters to develop for one film.
They're trying to do in one movie what Marvel did through roughly a dozen. It isn't going to work. They can still establish a larger universe, but it isn't going to rival Marvel's.
the thing is, those "dozen movies" were mostly mediocre with no real conflicts that existed purely to show off their massive VFX budgets and introduce a character or an infinity stone. MCU rakes in money because those kinds of movies appeal to children and morons. batman v superman, if done right, can easily set up the alliance between the Big 3, introduce some of the ancillary heroes properly while giving us something to look forward to, and still give us a meaningful conflict. if the title is anything to go by, the conflict between bats and supes is going to be more ideological than physical (even though they're bound to get into a few fights)- note the difference between Batman v. Superman (as in a court of law) and Batman vs Superman. that sort of thing opens up a lot of doors for other heroes and even civilians like lex luthor to give their opinions on the matter and affect the decisions made by the Big 3.
