he will never drop the midg persona. its pointless to argue with him because he doesnt listen to logic and makes inane, almost completely irrelevant points to back up whatever retarded opinion he's defending. ive had people swear up and down that he isnt really like this, but i find that very difficult to believe. he's been like this ever since i joined sep7 over a year ago. its best to mute him and ignore him because he is quite literally a worthless user.
Oh okay. Well, I won't mute him since that seems rude, simply because he has some silly opinions on video games. I don't really like just shutting people completely out. But I guess I saved a headache with Fallout arguing since I always talk about how bad it is, which is something I should stop doing.

But people keep bringing it up to me, so...
i only muted him because he does it on the other boards too. oh well. i find myself criticizing fo4 more the more i play it... flaws just jump out at you from all directions. hard to ignore :/

I'm talking about the single player. Why bring up CoD? The single player for CoD has been shit since after the first Modern Warfare game and super short each time with little content. Fallout is vast and has a lot to do
Well yeah, Fallout is ONLY single player. I was comparing CoD because you said it sucks people in the world, and Call of Duty does the same thing with MP. All I'm saying is if you think it's a 9/10, you should provide some reasons why you think so other than "I like it", you know?

Where did that meme come from? I'd at least like to give him a chance and talk with him.

Damnit, debates ended up happening.

Mostly negative stuff sadly, kinda wished for more positive outlooks with genuine discussion on what some of the best parts in Fallout would be.

But this is Sep7.
well you asked for what to expect. im not going to sugarcoat the game's shortcomings. even for all its flaws its still a perfectly serviceable game that you'll get plenty of mileage out of.

oh yeah, i forgot about new vegas

i've heard nothing but praise for that one
It's amazing, even though Obsidian was extremely rushed while making it, it really helps that a lot of the people who worked on the original 2 Fallouts also worked on NV. Funnily enough, NV is probably more of an actual "Fallout 3" than Fallout 3 is
yep. black isle/obsidian titles are west coast and bethesdas are east coast.

fo4 is better overall. f3 did a few things better though.
i think that's kinda funny

for as much praise as the fallout series tends to get here, no one seems to like the games all that much

i mean, a 6/10 isn't a great score--especially if it's better than the last installment
bethesda just isnt the right studio to develop fallout games. FO1 and FO2 were really really good, people these days just dont like isometric gameplay. New Vegas was one of the best RPGs of the new millenium. bethesdas fallout titles are just OK and the other titles in the series are very obscure/dont really matter, aside from maybe tactics.

Yeah what's the point of the like and dislike? I constantly made Cait dislike some things for me, but she still opened up to me. There is a mod where it says things like

"Cait disliked that but zero fucks were given"
hiding companion quests/character development behind aggregate points rather than specific triggers. fucking bethesda.
I don't mind that decision. I just don't understand what the point of it is since they never seem to leave if you hit a certain dislike, and will actually open UP to you when you keep getting dislikes.
Spoiler
my first character sided with the institute. when i went back to diamond city after destroying the prydwen, piper and nick both bitched me out for siding with the commonwealth's boogeyman and acted like they couldnt trust me anymore. after that brief exchange, literally nothing changed. -___-

I honestly do think Fallout 4 is Bethesda's best work since Morrowind/Oblivion, in a lot of ways

It's just... The RPG aspect of the game was a HUGE part, and I'm super sad that it's just not there in the way we've seen in past Fallout games, I think they focused too hard on some parts, and forgot about others.
I honestly don't know why they thought it was a good idea to get rid of the Karma system, when there was no viable replacement in the slightest. And they don't even have a reputation system either.
And the companion system is atrocious too, even if the companions themselves are actually really cool
curie, hancock, nick valentine, and paladin buzz lightyear all feel like they came straight out of an obsidian sequel, but the new companion rep system is obnoxious as all hell. i miss the way boone would just open fire on any caesers legion. he didnt bitch at me for accidentally stealing a junk item or get his rocks off when i mod a weapon.

What's funny is that I dont understand how people find F4 unforgettable. The writing isn't even bad, just people were expecting some ridiculous stuff. Its like ES, the good writing is in the lore/writings you find. I mean I guess the Vault purposes were really easy to find out, but there also a lot of stuff that you have to search for, such as the additional purpose for 111 (beyond Cryogenics)
I didn't have a problem with a lot of the writing actually. It certainly was a step up from Fallout 3 and Skyrim. My main complaints come with some gameplay choices, lack of choices, fetch quests, and the lack of dialogue options. That and just the world exploring is pretty much useless because there is no point going at the end of dungeons in this game since Legendary Monsters now drop the loot. So when you lockpick that master chest at the end of whatever building, odds are you're finding some Pipe Rifle.

Again.
pulse mine
shotgun shells x23
.38 ammo x 5
silver spoon
toy alien
hardened glow sighted mighty automatic pipe pistol
The Legendary Enemy thing is a compelling idea, but it gave it a more Borderlands feel than anything (along with ruining the point of dungeon crawling, which is one of the most fundamental things to an RPG since ever), and that's not Fallout. It doesn't help that by the time you're level 15, any armor and weapon mods you find are pretty much useless because what you have on is better, and the weapon you have will do more damage.

No one cares if your sniper has a base power of 80 and does +50 radiation damage, when your other sniper rifle is ticking in the 100's for damage.
i was hyped as fuck the first time i ran across a legendary radroach. then i started running into 2 legendary raiders per random encounter and thats when i realized just how borderlandsy the new enemy system was.

the terminals are written well across the board and some of the NPC dialogue is really good, but the vast majority of quest related dialogue, and especially the way the main story is written, absolute garbage.

expect a gorgeous game world with a more dynamic combat system than 3 or NV. unfortunately the writing is poor, there isn't much in the way of actual choice, the game is riddled with skyrim-esque "KILL. LOOT. RETURN" quests, characters dont seem to remember who you are after meeting them, companions mostly suck ass (shouts out to curie, hancock, and nick valentine tho y'alls my ride or die niggas), legendary enemies are no longer unique or overtly intimidating and spawn randomly, SPECIAL checks in dialogue are gone, perception is nerfed into the ground/worthless compared to its vast usefulness in the previous FO games, and the game world is really very shallow. there is lots of information about the world floating around that you can obtain through terminals/ambient dialogue from NPCs and such, but you cant really act on that information in 90/100 scenarios. there are maybe 2 "intelligent" super mutants in the game and one of them is a complete asshole who is impossible to use as a companion due to his intense dislike of most things players do. the new character like/dislike system is horribly implemented compared to New Vegas. role playing really only extends as far as your character's combat archetype is concerned and since they removed the level cap & revamped the perk system you easily become a jack of all trades once you get some levels under your belt. while the combat is a SERIOUS improvement over the previous 2 gamebryo FO games, they really bethesda'd it up so the usual "kite bullet sponge enemy and throw all of your resources at it" strategy is still the go-to.

the ant farm system is pretty neat but somewhat limited, but thats forgivable. weapon and armor crafting is a solid but limited addition as well.

overall its a solid 6/10. skyrim 2: nuclear boogaloo.

6/10 LOL you're fucking crazy. It's easily a 9/10 and the amount of people sucked into the game prove you wrong

It's a great mix of RPG and shooter, don't let the naysayers deceive you. It has PLENTY of RPG elements that effect everything, and blends down into even the shooter elements.
Dumbing down of skills
No weapon/armor degradation
No Karma
Choices with no middle. Either good or bad, no in-between

It's a good game. But it's the least RPG-ish Fallout to date.

So? It's still an RPG, and a fantastic one at that

Anyway,

The Metroid Prime series is worth a try. I wasn't particularly into either of them, but they're rather popular.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is one of the best Mario titles of all time.
I would suggest Animal Crossing, but only if you have others to play it with.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is probably the least shit Mario Kart game, barring DS.
ill shill for all of these
