Identifying as an atheist =/= being an atheist
You can't seriously expect me to believe that 97.6% of Americans believe in god.
He's right, Azu. We're expecting too much of SecondClass to believe that empirical evidence is true.
Just because you have all of these idiots who put down "I don't believe in God, but I don't identify as an atheist". It skews the poll results. If you don't believe in god, you're an atheist. It doesn't fucking matter what you "identify" as.
once again i must stress that religious non-affiliation does not automatically mean that they dont believe in god.
No, but it certainly can, and the whole atheist in everything but name shit happens so much. It's because the vocal atheists have ruined the word for everyone, so people do the whole "atheism is a religion, too" line and just pretend that they're "nonreligious". Newsflash: if you're not a theist, you're an atheist. That's literally what the word means.
this is becoming frustrating. you arent thinking clearly and your logic is suffering because of it. you're inserting your own feelings into an argument about empirical data and missing the point.

I don't really care what you buy into. That sauce doesn't differentiate between agnostic and atheist, so it is an irrelevant statistic.
All these mental gymnastics
you're the one performing mental gymnastics here bub.
Not at all. The initial argument here was that atheism is some borderline belief that only exists on the Internet. That's obviously false.
the statistics disagree with you. ive already explained that you are misinterpreting the data. just in case you missed it, ill link this again.
2.4% in america identify as atheist as of 2012 according to this particular poll. the ratio of those who arent affiliated with a religion is 19.6% in 2012 but do not conflate that with atheism. http://www.pewforum.org/files/2012/10/NonesOnTheRise-full.pdf
Pew Research in 2014 says 3.1%. Regardless, strict athiesm in the US is still a large minority.
yeah obviously the stats differ from poll to poll.
I was more pointing out that the number may have grown since then, but that however much it's changed, numerous studies still show it as a strict minority.
i know.

It's actually 16% worldwide. And yes, when you consider that Christianity is only 33%, that is very popular.
"Non-religious" doesn't count.
I want straight-up "atheist".
Fuck that. Non-religious and atheist are straight-up synonyms. If you don't believe in god, you're an atheist. I don't buy into that Reddit atheism shit.
non-religious=/=doesnt believe in a deity. could just mean they dont want to associate with organized religion. you're not analyzing that data properly.

That isn't contradictory whatsoever.
I showed my friend this website, and the first thing he said to me was "Everyone likes anime..." He hasn't been on this website since his first week here.
Anime is weird to those who don't like anime. Sorry, it's true. The staff being mostly comprised of weebs doesn't help.
It's nowhere near people being cunts to new users, though.
to be honest, i wouldnt want to associate with someone who thinks like that and avoids people simply because they like a certain artistic medium. good riddance.

best art style in the entire series, too. only ODST came close to reach's excellent aesthetic decisions.
Halo 5's skybox/environment art is better tbh
I haven't actually played Halo 5, but as far as armor goes, it looks like more of the overly-detailed anime shit we got in Halo 4.
oh please. any respectable anime wouldnt be caught dead with such fucking garbage armor design as h4 and h5.

Why would I go out of my way to buy into all of this PC-ness and indulge in others' fantasies? because it's polite
As if anyone on this site (aside from a few outliers) is polite to me
that's a piss poor excuse to treat others poorly. hiding behind your own victimization doesnt validate your bigotry. as human individuals we have a fundamental, sovereign right to dictate our identities. to disrespect that right is to disrespect what it means to be human.

its sad when people have so little respect for other's sovereignty re: identity that they purposefully misgender them

Nothing special tbh. 208 achievements from 250 hours of game time is the gist of it.
about the same for me. mid-300s for hours and not many achievements. fuck xbl.

I definitely liked it better than Return. Really? All my dislike for Return of the Jedi, at least it tried something new. I felt like TFA played it way too safe.
They were under a lot of pressure. All things considered, I thought they handled things quite well. Using overall narrative and artistic cues from the original trilogy was an excellent framework for introducing the new characters and the dynamics of their relationships. I didn't come out of the movie feeling let down by anyone's characterization aside from Snoke. Finn, Rey, Ben Solo, BB-8, and Poe were all really well done, and I gotta give shouts outs to Hux. The power dynamic between Ben and Hux was a really cool callback to the power struggles between Vader and the high ranking Empire leaders.

Very fun. Very human. Very Star Wars. Felt more genuine than any of the prequels and I definitely liked it better than Return. Looking forward to the future of the franchise and the budding rivalry between Ben Solo and Rey.
