The Flood / Re: Why are dub actors almost always terrible?

Isn't it accepted as a fact that Cowboy Bepop's English dub was better recieved than the sub? I really can't picture Spike without Steve Blum speaking.
yeah bebops dub is GOAT tier. faye and jet had fantastic VAs too

This is objectively false.

There are a lot of times when the dub sounds better than the sub.

Examples?
I wouldn't say "better" because detecting a language, especially Japanese, is hard. Especially when a lot of Japanese people have said that in anime, a lot of the voice actors are over dramatic and energetic.

Examples of great dubs though?

Gurren Lagann
Dragon Ball Z (Goku subbed is horrible)
Full Metal Alchemist
Persona 4 (it was a game, but an anime too so shut up)
Fate/Zero
Berserk the movie
Baccano!
PSG
Index
Spice and Wolf
Space Dandy
Cowboy BeBop

There are countless examples of dubbed things actually being good. It's just the quality of the voice actor/actress and the direction they want them to take the characters.

Anyone who says all dubs sound like shit and all of Japanese stuff is great, clearly don't know a lick about voice acting, and how they can't even listen to another language and see if it's good or bad for almost 90% of it. Now is it true that more Japanese voice actors are more talented in the field of anime? I would say yes since they have a large industry and schools focused on it. But they are just as hit and miss as dubs can be.
lots of studio ghibli/miyazaki movies too, princess mononoke's dub comes to mind

Rubio's Christian pandering is unsufferable.

>"people have called you the savior of the Republican party--"
>"Excuse me, there's only one savior: Jesus Christ."

>people are actually still watching these

i thought we agreed that it's all just the same bullshit every month at this point
paul, bush, and kasich all have moments of lucid intelligence fairly often; unfortunately none of them have a snowballs chance in hell to actually be relevant as long as trump and cruz have a stranglehold on most of the party

God, this debate sucks

Bush is literally the only one I actually like out of this bunch, but got shut down my radical far right fuck faces like Cruz

I hate Cruz
cruz has been getting hammered all night, though im not sure we'll actually see much of a difference in the polls. i personally didnt think anything he's said had any potency.

You know what? Now that Trump's sitting this one out, it should go a lot smoother and be less of a shit show tbh

Should be a nice change.
its still going to be a massive shitshow. at least trump provides great comic relief when he's on; now we just have to hope ben carson is able to deliver lulz.

« on: January 24, 2016, 03:50:28 PM »
I'd probably get the NV DLC, if you haven't already. If not, finish 3 and wait for the price to go down. Buy the Ultimate Edition to get all of it, that version is pretty cheap now.

Fallout4 is a fun game, but not one engineered for multiple playthroughs. If you have £40, I'd reconmend using it to maximise your time in 3 and Vegas.
Don't have either of them anymore. They were a little rough at times, I'm just imaging that 4 is a smoother experience, but from some reviews I've read, that's not the case.
4 is poorly optimized for console and non-nvidia pc's
