It's great because in any other 80s high school movie, he would be the cool, dark, loner who whisks the girl away on some narrative of excitement. But in this one, it's played more realistically, and he's a dark loner for a reason.
What don't you like about Christian Slater, though? I like him as an actor, he was really good in True Romance.
