I forgot about the great hubpocalypse.  What a catastrophe.  Anything other than amateur is soulless.

the most important thing to note here: the game will have rollback netcode

meet my Danny Phantom/Oblina
Surprised they had a REAL MONSTER, they actually seem to be digging into nostalgia characters which is cool.

Real question is will they make a Tekken clone with all the live action Nick character like Drake and Josh and Dan Schneider?

what is rollback netcode?

the game seems pretty fun, and it's cool to see characters from the 90s
Rollback netcode basically makes for almost seamless online play where ordinarily there would be lag.  The game is running what it predicts will happen next, and if its prediction is wrong it will "roll bacK" to where it was accurate and go from there.

Most recently Slippi the Melee mod for online play added in rollback and the result is insane.  I can play with people who are a thousand or more kilometers away and it's really not even noticeable, and that's in an input-intensive game.  It seems like the Ludosity devs actually care about making it a good game and experience.

searing hot take

people who had their favorite characters mii'd should just be happy they made it into the game at all

only geno and waluigi fans get to be salty (and i'm only one of those things)
Depends on the character.

Cuphead, Shovelknight, Minecraft shit, Geno, Goemon, Sans all work almost perfectly as Miis costumes.  They look great and fit the character aesthetics.  I LOVE Goemon and was pumped to see him added as a Mii because the costume looks really great and the MiiFighter style fits well enough with the character.

Others like Dante or Dragonborn don't really fit with the Mii style all that well.  I wouldn't want either in the game that much on my priority list, but they don't really fit the Miis either.

Anyone here into Tekken?  I got it last year sometime on sale and am only now getting into it learning King.

Apparently he has literally 10 minutes of just throw attacks, which is pretty sick.

Sep7agon Tekken lobbies would be lit.

You'll be waiting a while then. I thought the point that the anime left off wasn't too clifferhangery.
Ass-sooming you mean the 2011 one, I think it honestly ended perfectly.  I read the manga now to pick up where the anime left off, but I don't find it necessary, necessarily.  Ending on Gon finding his dad and the group splitting up until they adventure again was a great ending that suggested to the viewer that their stories will go on but this story is over.

The Chimera Ant arc is basically a litmus test as to whether someone is a Hunterfan or a Hunterfag.

A Hunterfan can acknowledge that the series is not perfect, attesting to the fact that the CA arc has objective flaws and while still better than most action anime aimed at younger boys is an ugly mark on an otherwise superb series.

A Hunterfag will simply drool on about how everything in the show is brilliant and the CA arc is its magnum opus. They will ignore criticisms and dismiss them with various forms of "2deep4u" despite there being nothing thoughtful or really interesting about the arc or the characters it introduces.

It's basically the reverse pleb filter of the series.

Fromsoftware is getting a bit samesy with the games they're making

We got the waifubait hub girl, tarnished/hollow/ash, dragons, churches, and rings

I'm sure it'll be good but I want to see them try something new
A dating sim RPG would be great.

Gaming / Spoiler E3 Predictions, Hopes, and Dreams Thread
« on: June 10, 2021, 05:20:39 PM »

It's that time of year lads.

There are some things that are so guaranteed they're not really even worth predicting like a new Call of Duty for the year.  A Switch Pro reveal.  A Smash character reveal.  Halo: Infinite gameplay demo.

I'm gonna go out on a wild prediction this year though and say new Donkey Kong game.  The last one was 2014, and we've got no idea what Retro has been cobbling together in the background for the last seven years but for perhaps the new Metroid.  I'm thinking it may even be a Donkey Kong 3D platformer like DK64 if it's taken this long to create.  The devs back during TF's interviewing phase said they already build TF in 3D anyhow so a 3D game wouldn't be that outlandish.

Also predicting a pretty safe prediction of some Age of Empires 4 gameplay.

I also wanna see another season of FighterZ characters, and Doomguy for Smash.
