Gaming / Thoughts on Ark? (Dinosaur game discussion ITT)
« on: June 02, 2015, 07:47:58 AM »
From what I've seen, It looks seriously promising. It's essentially an open-world survival game, that relies on resource-gathering, and taming Dinosaurs. It makes you take into account everything from Supply weight, to managing your character's Toilet habits. Pretty Nifty, huh. It's being released today on Steam today for about $25. Anybody else getting it?

Edit: Console players will have to wait around 12 months to get it.

once we start getting into "absolute bullshit" territory, that's when i can't enjoy the game anymore

That's a fair point. The fact that I went overboard with the phrasing in the OP didn't help, I guess.

The Flood / Re: Hello again! I am officially done with Bnet AMA
« on: May 27, 2015, 04:07:03 AM »
You can't really say that there was a lot worth staying for on b.net, outside of the remaining private groups with good members in them. There is maybe 1 or 2 good threads a week on that entire website now, and you have to sift through an ocean of shit posts to find them.

Gaming / Re: New Halo: CE World Record.
« on: May 27, 2015, 03:58:01 AM »
Reminds me of when I was 14 and tried to get the world record on Floodgate. Naturally, it didn't happen, and I lost interest in Speedruns. When you think about it, there's not really a great deal of fun to be had from doing it.

A few features of a game sucking balls doesn't make the game itself inherently bad.
mario kart is pretty fucking shitty

IMO It's good if you have some time to kill, but can't be bothered getting into games with depth.

You sure you don't have any gripes with a game you enjoy overall?

9156
mario kart is the only legitimate answer

but i still contend that if you like games with bullshit in them, then you are bullshit

A few features of a game sucking balls doesn't make the game itself inherently bad. Don't get me wrong, I'd avoid a shit game if I knew I was just going to get screwed around most of the time, but if it has fun overall gameplay, a few features such as RNG or unbalanced coding isn't going to deter me from playing.

>Kinda liked the guy
>came in thread
>saw that everyone hated him

well damn lol. Didn't know he was loathed this much. Did i miss something again?

If you get to know him, he's alright. It's just that he acts up himself to an unhealthy extent, and often makes threads about blatant bullshit.

I've never encountered a single shiny in my life. It haunts me :/

« on: May 26, 2015, 09:05:26 AM »
The trial version of Unreal Tournament 2003 just isn't the same. I feel you, OP.

9161
Example: I was playing Mario Kart 64 today on Kalamari Desert, and after winning the previous 3 races by such a margin that even the elastic mechanic couldn't close the gap, I was in for a bit of a reversal. I stopped a while before the train crossing to gain an advantage on timing it right, and apparently I stopped too early, because the Opponents drove straight through the damn Train without being thrown into the air, like they should've. Apparently MK64 doesn't acknowledge environmental hazards after a certain distance. Thanks to this, Toad (who everybody can agree upon as the most hated piece of shit in gaming) gained such an advantage, that no point in the race gave me a clear shot at him with a Red Shell. I'm starting to remember why 9 year old me binned the cartridge for it 10 years ago.

ITT: Discuss times you've wanted to break shit because of Games.

Gaming / Re: Chinese gamers are worse than BRs and Russians.

I've only really had trouble gaming against Mexicans. In older FPS games, they love running aimbots/Wall hacking, and spamming the textchat with shit like "Puto <your username here> gringo," or a simple smiley face after each (illegitimate) kill. I also haven't met one yet with less than 450 ping.

I'd assumed that post, much like almost 90% of the other things he says, was a simple attention-seeking lie.

Punk rock is cool
omg do you like Foo Fighters or Queens of the Stone Age or Tool

I'm reasonably certain none of those are Punk rock.

OT: I disliked Halo 2.

Still in a better state than b.net in terms of Topic quality
Agreed. (for the most part)

I moved on here because got tired of all the '[Random statement] AMA' threads.

That's not really much of a problem anymore, but it was certainly heading back in the direction of 5 attention whoring threads on the front page at all times. Recently it was just a spate of Political/religious bait threads.

Armaldo, Manectric, Glalie, Salamence, Gardevoir and Swampert is generally my favourite team when I'm playing gen 3.

It's reasonably well rounded, but has trouble against teams that spam Ground, Ice and Water attacks.

Anybody with "Memelord" in their name is good in my books.

Probably doesn't make dank enough memes.
