tbh reliability has come a long way in general and Toyota has had a reputation for reliability in their sports car engines since learning their lessons with 5m and 7m engines. Motive Video are putting 280Kw (370 odd hp) to the wheels in a GR Yaris, chasing north of 300Kw/400hp and haven't blown it up yet, despite regular track work.

Edit: they're now pushing 352kW or 480ish hp to the hubs so I guess they'll be the first ones to fuck around and find out how strong an unopened 1.6 3 cyl is lol

The GR Corolla will be as consequential to me as the GR Yaris was. Do i think more sports cars on the market is neat? Yes. Will I ever have a spare $50,000 to put towards one/will I ever trade in? No.

Also I'm not sure how to feel about a Yaris engine in a heavier platform, even if it has more power to compensate. Will be good to see more Turbo sports bois on the market though. Also I don't see much point to trying to make power on that platform when even aftermarket intercoolers look like they have barely any surface area and will heat soak after 5 minutes of hard driving.

I see my Dad once or twice a year as he's kind of a dick. I still live at my Mum's house but when I had money and briefly moved out I still visited every couple of weeks. I aim to see my brother and sister as often as I can but lockdowns and their work schedules get in the way a fair bit

Rollback netcode basically makes for almost seamless online play where ordinarily there would be lag.  The game is running what it predicts will happen next, and if its prediction is wrong it will "roll bacK" to where it was accurate and go from there.

Most recently Slippi the Melee mod for online play added in rollback and the result is insane.  I can play with people who are a thousand or more kilometers away and it's really not even noticeable, and that's in an input-intensive game.  It seems like the Ludosity devs actually care about making it a good game and experience.
I've been having Melee friendlies with a few West Coast USA players and it's been a playable experience even on 2f. I live in Western Victoria, Australia for reference lol.

I still haven't seen Assasination Classroom. Kinda wrote it off but is it really that good?
I super enjoyed it. First thoughts were it's another cringe/wack anime, but turns out it's making fun of a lot of tropes (or at least making them actually funny). The characters were really solid and I loved how the story developed. It's short and sweet by Anime standards but I lowkey wanted more.

So I ditched the Tein springs for some HKS Hiper Ds. I only have the rears in but they already ride better than what was already in there (seems to be Dealer optioned Nismo Bilsteins, might be worth hanging onto but they're ridiculously stiff lol). Haven't tried the fronts as they look like they'll be insanely low, but if they end up having zero sag the ride height might not end up being that bad.

Moving onto some exhaust stuff atm, cutting out this shitty valve I had installed in 2018 for no good reason and getting Dump Pipe to cat measured up to hopefully have a stainless steel 3.5" pipe to the converter, and then 80mm (3 1/4 inch) to the muffler. If it doesn't help me get to my power goal it should at least offer the head room on a bigger turbo to crank out decent figures to the wheels.

Also car is telling knock knock jokes. Techs don't think it's coming from the engine so I'm hoping it goes away with exhaust valve delete (it's been flapping around for a while but sound has gotten louder and can be heard from inside the car while driving now). Z-Tune body conversion gonna have to wait a while as rear quarter panel prices are quite high and I imagine overseas shipping is gonna be wild.

Possible Character leak
Mister Chef

Taking it with a grain of salt but I could see it with the context of upcoming Halo Infinite release as well as prior featuring with Fortnite. Also apparently comes from a reliable enough source as far as previous leaks goes (with a track record of occasional misses).

I don't really care too much for what goes on in Ult since it's just weird to play for me and I don't do much with it competitively compared to Melee, but I'll still take it over yet another anime tiddy sword character from a game I'm never going to touch. I imagine he'll be just as complained about/annoying to play against as Rob/Snake/Banjo/The entire cast since I've seen smash twitter complain about playing against nearly every character in the game at this point, with the exceptions of Sheik and Jigglypuff lmao. Might give him a whirl if the leak ends up holding merit next time I play.

Snowboard Kids 2 has been one of the more expensive games I've wanted to get, even when I first started looking.

Boy if I could go back to 2006 with the budget of every dollar I've spent on games since 2010 lol.

-I'm more certain with career goals
-I'm in a happy relationship
-More confident in telling people to fuck off when they're being assholes
-Glowed up hard (like all of the homies x)
-Replaced run-on sentences with an overuse of parenthesis

long story
I was 18 when this site started. I was pretty naïve about a lot of things, but I had a bit of ambition as far as my career was concerned. Over time I got increasingly frustrated by how hard it was to find a job and how unfairly the places that did hire me treated their staff. At one workplace I was a kitchen hand, and the manager would take home the tip jar for the front workers. He also expected us to log some of our hours on an 'off the books' arrangement that paid less than our taxed pay anyway, and I was fired pretty quickly when I never did so. I ended up delivering for a pizza place that was even worse and would pay $5 cash for each delivery. I was working around 60 hours per week there in 2017 and taking home around $500(AUD) most weeks. I was able to save a decent bit of money by the middle of the year and then I met my ex. I was pretty new to serious relationships and basically let her push me around and gaslight me for months on end because I didn't know how to respond. She'd continuously brush it aside when I said I wanted to talk, and eventually it just built up until I called her out on every one of her actions (without being harsh or namecalling, mind you) and since she tried to flip the whole topic once again, I ended it there at the start of 2018 and haven't spoken with her since.

I was pretty far behind on my loan repayments for the car I'd purchased in 2017 since I'd pissed all of my savings away on my ex and taken up smoking while we were dating (which is insanely expensive in Aus due to taxing on tobacco being through the roof). So it was pretty comforting to learn I'd been offered an apprenticeship as an automotive technician, a job I'd wanted since I was 16. I was also offered an internship as an analyst for an AFL club (a different sporting league, but essentially our equivalent to the NFL) which I of course accepted because it was also something I wanted to do for a long term job. I was a bit of a dumbass and both jobs saw me working at the other as a lack of commitment to their respective pathways so I lost my apprenticeship and was demoted to the same work but at the football club's state team for the 2019 season. I also met a girl in the morning of 1 January, 2018 while I was walking home after a new years party. I'd worked with her while I was a kitchen hand in 2016 and we hit it off again, both being familiar with each other and similarly jaded about bad past relationships. We spent a lot of weeknights that year drinking and dancing to her bluetooth speaker's music at a park near her house after dark lol. Surprise surprise we started dating in 2019 and it's basically been exactly what I pictured of a perfect relationship ever since. Like, legit. Words can't describe how good and caring of a person she is, and we couldn't be happier.

At the end of 2019 I wasn't offered any form of work from the sports club I was working at, as they had exhausted their 2 years of Volunteer work allowed under the Fair Work act, and weren't willing to pay me for my work despite the fact I was commencing study in a relevant degree for 2020. So basically fuck 'em. I've had a lot of trouble getting through this degree (especially during the CoVid period where it was online only, but we're back to face-to-face learning now) and I'm in the process of seeking treatment/diagnosis for my inability to focus that's plagued me my entire adult life. The GP I've been seeing agrees that a lot of signs point towards ADHD/ADD, and I'm being referred to a Psychiatrist for proper diagnosis and treatment so hopefully that goes well. I'm pretty set on getting this degree and maybe moving towards a motorsports team as a property manager or something. I have the experience, skills and connections to back it up, but apparently the degree is the biggest necessity of the lot. I still have 2 and a half years left to go, but I'm feeling pretty good about this. Also I've been streaming more on twitch lately (esp. Melee locals) and I've recently gotten affiliate so I can get at least a little on the side.

I don't have any photos of just me from back then, but here's one from mid 2020
