As a kid, I was really interested in them. I dunno why, I just was. My favorite Locomotive is the Victorian Railways C Class, probably because it was the first Model train I owned, and it was pretty sweet. I was also a fan of the J Class Steam Engine, but only ever saw it in Magazines or on a Video. I'd like to operate my own Miniature Railway or something one day. I know you Americans have a relatively large Heritage with Railways, Post ITT if you have some form of interest in Trains.

Anybody else a fan of Advance Wars? Halo CE mods Spoiler I think this is Project Lumoria?  Early (maybe 2012?) Screenshots of SPv3   RPG Beta 6.2 (one of my favorite maps from CE. Pity OpsY doesn't seem active anymore).  FLAMETHROWER HOG!!!  And let's not forget Forge World's lovely Color Palette, which was showcased in almost every Matchmade/Custom Game. Spoiler Okay I lie, it's a Halo CE mod of Kokiri forest form The Legend of Zelda: OoT, but it's basically the same thing.

That video is beautiful. OT: I have no idea what <insert rights owner at the time> were thinking when they made Zombie Ghosts a matchmaking gametype, that more often than not, ends up being all 3 choices without a "none of the above" option. Seriously, I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than play that shit gametype. It's worse than the Assassination Custom game. Also in the past few weeks I've had some lag issues on matchmaking, and I haven't played a single custom game in the past month without having at least 1 second of delay in my actions. They could've given the Plasma Rifle and Shotgun the same damage/range they had in Halo 1, because on most maps, those, the spiker, the Plasma Repeater and the Focus Rifle were as useful as shooting the enemy with harsh words. Invasion was a fun gametype though, and with a better balance, I'm sure it would've proven to be a brilliant gametype. It's a shame that only Swat, Living dead, and BTB playlists have a remotely significant population these days. I don't like waiting MCC-tier times for a match as much as the next person. Oh yeah, the Betrayal booting mechanic seems to almost exclusively work when it's an accidental betrayal, and does sweet fuck all if a teammate shoots you to death/kills you in a painfully obviously deliberate manner.

It's surprising how common it is. Even Elite Athletes have a significant difference in pay/prize money in their corresponding sports/events. The World 24 Hour MTB Enduro championships had something like $5,000 for the winner of the Elite Women's event, and $15,000+ for the Men in 2012. It might've changed by now but I doubt it, but is there really anything we can do about the issue in general?
When the WNBA becomes interesting you just might start to see female athletes payed like males.
In other words, never gonna happen, LOL
 But seriously though, there's a lot more effort that could be put in from sponsors to get more media coverage and public hype in Women's Sports.

In most games your ability to combat enemies isn't progressively built. In MOBAs, when you fall behind, you lose the ability to do a lot of things. Because everyone loves being able to kill shit, people get frustrated by that, and especially when they're going to be waiting another 20-40 minutes before their next game.
You see similar levels of rage and saltiness in any other game with actual consequences to mistakes and long set-up times like WoW, Eve, etc.

Made me so mad. Then they were on the other team the next game even though I reported them for harrasment (good fucking job riot immediately match me with people I muted and reported)
So they start flaming me in all chat and they get carried and win because my attack damage carry neglects to build any attack damage Shit me, cunts like that need to chill out. I mean, they've probably shortened their own lifespan by being so angry for such a long period of time. I can't believe they reported you haha what a pack of flogs. People take MOBAa waaaaayy too seriously.

I mean, it's not like playing a specific genre of game is guaranteed to influence your attitude to others, but 8/10 matches on <insert Multiplayer RTS here> are going to have people flipping out, or straight up abandoning their teammates the moment they're at a slight disadvantage. So, what's the cause of the, erm, "Competitiveness" in such online lobbies, and why is it specifically such a problem in MOBAs? I get that they have a huge prize pool at major tournaments, but surely people should know that they're just not that good, and stick to having fun, even in a lobby they're expected to lose, instead of being such a sweaty tryhard. Take Myth, for example. Bungie's RTS from the 90's. The people I've spoken to who have played it since the development of the game say that sometime in the mid 2000's, the playerbase/users of a major forum of Myth slowly turned into the stereotype of a MOBA community, when it was previously relatively welcoming. Is there any reason behind it, or is it just a co-incidence that most MOBA players are perpetually salty?
