Gaming / Re: RIP my first Xbox 360
« on: July 28, 2015, 03:29:55 AM »
Got a 360 Pro back in 2007, and it lasted about a year before it got the RRoD. It was still under warranty so we got a Factory restore/replacement/whatever they do. Still had all our profile data and shiz. The replacement got Red ring'd somewhere between 2008 and '09, and that one's been with us ever since, although it seems to be on the way out.

Sometimes it refuses to load maps in games, or just read discs in general. It also tries to retract the disc tray the moment you grab the disc, and, if successful, requires 20 minutes of spamming Eject and smacking the side to open again. It also sometimes makes a really unpleasant noise when reading some discs.

The Flood / Re: Why do so many black people love DBZ
« on: July 28, 2015, 02:23:50 AM »
Oh yeah, general black.

Goku killed the last black man on earth.
King Chappa lived.

He's dark skinned and Indian. Not black.
If you're going for black instead of dark skinned, Popo is one of few pure black individuals.
Mr. Black isn't even pure.

Mr. Popo is a marshmallow genie. General Black was the only person of African descent in Dragonball.

There was some lanky black guy for like 20 seconds in the Tournament saga. He got matched up against Trunks. And you occasionally see them when it shows a shot of a crowd.

Bringing other people's attention to it doesn't really help solve the problem. I mean, I personally feel people take advantage of social injustices such as poverty, just to get on their high horse, and have a rant at everybody, and not have somebody call them out without looking like a jerk. It's literally just a like/upvote magnet.

Doing Volunteer work, and inviting other people to help out too, on the other hand, I have no issue with.

-People that have held their licenses for 2-4 years
-People that have held their licenses for <1 year
Why not just say 4 years and below?

I meant 3-4 years, my mistake. 2nd year drivers have just enough confidence to not drive like an old lady, without being an absolute hoon.

People who are bad drivers, from my experience:
-Asians
-White Soccer Mums
-Holden Commodore Drivers
-Old People
-People that have held their licenses for 2-4 years
-People that have held their licenses for <1 year
-Country people (although they could probably be called good drivers, seeing as they take non-4WD cars on dirt roads at ridiculous speeds)
-Almost everybody else that isn't me.

I don't know what my user number is. I'm guessing it's in the teens.

39. If you go to your profile, it's the number at the end of the URL.

Edit: It'll only work from clicking on your profile where you've posted/commented on something, otherwise the link just displays "action=profile"

The Flood / Re: how was your weekend
« on: July 27, 2015, 12:38:16 PM »
Recently I started really getting into working out and stuff. Feels good man.
Nice bro, that's an excellent interest to pick up. i hate to sound brash but ever since i started getting into working out i have noticed an overall increase in my physical and mental health. i fail to see why most people don't even bother with it at all and waste their bodies away.

what's your routine like?
I'll put in a kind of order.
Well it goes something like Cardio for 20 - 30 minutes on Stationary Bike followed by Situps (100 - 200 in total) then bicep curls/ triceps.
Then generally chest flys followed by leg stuff on a machine.
and repeating as many times as I feel like. I usually go for an hour and a half in total.
Any tips are very welcome btw.

If you're doing that many Situps, it's probably better to do a more intense exercise, like Planks. It just takes up less time for a greater overall benefit, man.

I've got this folder that my Siblings and I kept our cards in, It's full of OG Pokemon cards and shit, as well as some DBZ Tazos/Cards from the same era, and I have a few decks from the B/W gen lying around somewhere too.

Not really. I mean, within my age group, any Political-related drama would just look like a sweaty tryhard attempt to look sophisticated/relevant/intellegent/mature. Religion doesn't really affect the way I see my friends either, but I've never really been personally introduced to a person who openly had an ideology that conflicted seriously with my own.

Outside of flaming other users on Anonymous accounts, what even is Anarchy for? Most of the stuff that happens can probably be posted in Flood anyway.

Edit: okay, yeah I retract the above statement.

Halo is garbage.

Outside sep7/other communities spawned around Bungie, it's probably not that controversial an opinion.

If I'm playing on a Controller/Joystick, I invert the Y Axis but not X. If it's on PC with a Mouse, I play un-inverted on Both axes

I'd say a few others, but they've either already been mentioned ITT, or would contribute to an unnecessarily long list that nobody would bother to read.

There does not under any circumstance need to be any light in my room at 0530, ever.

I feel ya man, my Curtains are like Tissue paper. I may as well have my Monitor displaying b.net at my face from sunrise.

Well it would be the ultimate "out of your comfort zone" experience, which does appeal to me, but at the same time, that shit would be scary af. What if something went wrong with the food/water/Oxygen supply on the ship? And the Homesickness wouldn't be too grand, I'd imagine.

Short answer: I don't know.

Gaming / Re: Little details in games that you enjoy?
« on: July 26, 2015, 10:29:58 AM »
In Marathon, there was absolutely nothing in terms of ambient sounds, and it made getting ambushed, or getting rushed by a new enemy legitimately scary.

Also, in Advance Wars, the death Animation for infantry units makes them look like they're getting blown off the screen by a giant leaf blower or something.

Halo CE (on PC, at least) looks unusually crisp, and has extremely pleasing aesthetics for a game of its era. The particle effects were also sublime. The ambient sounds that played when you got near a radio or a covenant ammo crate were pretty cool, too. That and the Needler's sound effects were great.

Most versions of Road Rash and Unreal Tournament, seem to have a lot of extremely comical violence, which never fails to make me laugh.

It faces North. In the summer, it's basically an oven. Got upwards of 45 degrees one time.

I don't really bother trying to get an avatar that represents "me." I'm more looking for ones I find pleasing to the eye, or have some humor to them.

Oh yeah and what's with the whole probation thing when you quit a few games? I'm not inclined to stick around if Zombie Ghosts gets voted 4 times in a row, and if I'm seriously lagging to the point where literally nothing can be accomplished, it's likely that me leaving is doing the rest of the lobby a favor.

The Flood / Re: ITT: Trains.
« on: July 24, 2015, 11:06:53 PM »
I had a really big model train set as a kid.
Like, a big oval and another inside it and some multi-track connections
And styrofoam stations and little people and trees and stuff
And i'd run a bunch of trains around it. I had one that was like, a modern freight liner, and one that was like an old steam locomotive, and some others, and one that was like, an old hand cart with two dudes pushing on a lever like in the old cartoons.

I think I still have some Lionel stuff in the boxes... somewhere in this house...
My Dad has a big collection of Model Trains, as well as a drawer for the components, and a Platform in the Garage to run them on. He hasn't used it since like 2002 which is a pity.
