I generally like people, it's just that it's really easy for one's shitter side of their personality to become public with modern media being the way it is, and it's extremely easy to forget about Empathy when interacting with others online. Example: The current state of bungie.net. A Shit flinging contest is only moments away, because people don't put any thought into how they phrase their statements.

I still think there's as much inherent "good" in People as there always has been, but the bad tends to cop more of the spotlight.

The more I think about it, the less I actually seem to care about who gets put into positions of "power" on this site, because most users seem capable of being mature/trustworthy if they were given the position. I mean, it's a pretty small group of regulars. At least most of the Users know each other relatively well.

In my original post, I was talking more about competitive gaming vs. competitive sports.

They're literally the same thing.

Not in terms of the majority of what the fanbases watch. If somebody can provide a statistic that proves more people watch high level tournament streams, than Causal gamers who use it as more of a comedy to attract viewers, I'll happily concede this point.

The video wasn't really that funny but they sort of had a point, and the comments didn't really help in disproving said point. I mean, there are some gamers that are worth watching if you're stuck and need some walkthrough help, don't have a game but want to see the Campaign, or just want to see a really competitive match, but I tend to find most commentaries extremely obnoxious, especially when they spend a lot of a video screwing around in the pause menu, or just have really shit situational awareness, and get killed because they don't spot the extremely obvious looking blip on their motion tracker/an enemy on their screen, that almost enters their crosshairs.

But enough of going on this tangent. I'll say this about the larger gaming community. Their poor manners, sense of humor, and quick tempers are a blight on Humanity.

This is what confuses me about most people who strongly advocate it. I get that it's a major aspect of why (most) people do it, and probably goes without saying, but surely there's some discussion value in the mind altering aspects of it.
